*bangs fists on table* Give me facial scarred Felix
*stands up, knocking over my chair* Give me Felix covered in burns and old scars that cover most of his face because he was a soldier
*flips my table* Give me Felix with a necessary undercut because his hair burnt off on one side because he is a mercenary
*scrambles to right everything* Give me Felix still calling himself the most handsome man in the galaxy, and still just as full of himself as when people face canon him with perfect skin and no scars even though he was a soldier and a mercenary
(Also, I totally plan on cosplaying Felix eventually!)
While I'm ranting about Felix, let me bring up an old but still relevant thing about Felix and the fandom.
“If I’m better than you, and I’m faster than you, then I can kill you. And that’s better than ANYTHING money can buy.”
What amazes me about Felix, is that you can tell exactly when the show is over, when the facade is gone. You can tell exactly when it goes from Felix to Felix.
“You know, I just realized, I haven’t seen your pals in a while!”
“That’s the last time you try to outsmart me, Captain Tucker.”
“We just had to keep the hate train-a-goin’! And lemme tell you! You guys have helped sooo much!”
“Does it hurt? Knowing how much death you’ve brought to this planet?”
“Well! Look who it is! Lavernius Tucker, and his other less important but equally annoying friends!”
“You see, not many people get the best of me. But No one gets the best of me and lives to tell about it.”
And I see that the fandom likes to focus on the first version of Felix a lot. The Felix that goofs around, says things like “And you say I talk too much!” or “SAYANARA, LOSERS!” and all the other little shows and phrases he says that make him sound like a carefree goofball.
But Felix can strategize. Felix can take orders. Felix can do what needs to be done and get it done quickly and efficiently if he needs it done. He doesn’t NEED to talk, he doesn’t NEED to draw things out.
“Oh! That was awesome!” “Focus.” “Right!”
“Go take care of the Simulation Troopers. I have this under control.” “Right.”
“Keep talking, A**hole.” “Ooooh, you’d like that, wouldn’t you?”
“They’re injured! We can kill them now!”
I think Felix is a slightly more dynamic character than fandom gives him credit for (and I think the oversexualization might have sooomething to do with that, but that’s none of my business), and that somewhat disappoints me, because Felix is a man of many faces, but for some reason, fandom only sees one.
Now, I'll be the first to admit, I've done this to Felix too and sometimes it's hard not to but its still a thing that annoys me even when I do it! AH! Its 3AM and I'm freaking out okay?
