What are Nidettas?
"New on today's news: Scientists have created what they call the "perfect pet." Though some citizens are put off by the new creature, many are admiring the beasts, and are more than ready to take one home. We have one of the lead geneticists here with us today to further explain these animals to us, and give us a more in-depth look at the topography and behaviors of, what they have named, the Nidetta":
Nidettas are a canine-like species, with big, warm, almost gelatinous tails. Their heads do not connect to the body, so to remove one of the more delicate and easily damaged parts of the pet, but they do have a "neck" of sorts. A "magnetic" field keeps the head a certain distance from the body, and while their head can retract, it cannot extend beyond that of a normal dog's neck's length. The mist that comes out of the bottom of their head can have a variety of qualities, with some being rarer than others, but it usually causes mild dizziness and drowsiness if inhaled, making them wonderful pets for people with young children, insomnia, or jobs outside of home with long hours. They have very sharp teeth, but are very docile creatures and will not attack unless seriously provoked, or in immediate danger. Our breeders adore them, since they have a tendency to mutate at random (Probably not random, but we haven't discovered a cause for mutations as of yet). As an additional bonus, their mist, tail, and eyes glow! My only fear with these animals, though, is that rarely (It's only happened at the lab twice, and we've bred hundreds, if not thousands of these guys), they are not born domesticated, and will grow into an adult that will get agitated by even the littlest things... If we could fi-"
There is a second of something leaping on to the reporter, and muddled screaming before the news channel cuts to black, with the words "Off-Air" in the middle.
Will you adopt one of these unpredictable animals?
