In the most northwestern reaches of North America, wolves live on in sparse, tenacious packs. Once a mighty species, the destruction of their habitat and persecution of the creature have caused its numbers to dwindle at an alarming rate, leaving them teetering on the edge of extinction. Concerned for the survival of these magnificent beasts, humans have come up with a plan: they will introduce a mated pairs scattered across the wilds of Alaska and Northern Canada, and will see if, untouched by infrastructure and hunters, the dying species will flourish once more. However, life will not be easy--raising pups is difficult, and natural predators have roamed these lands for decades, learning how best to fight and hunt. Worse still, wherever there is something to be protected, there will be poachers and hunters to follow. Will you contribute to saving the population of these creatures, so that they may thrive once more?

Can you make the biggest, most powerful pack in the forest?

HOW TO PLAY

Seasons
Each season will last two days. After the last season ends, a new season will start, going in order from winter to fall-this means that every post is approximately the equivalent of one month. When your mod replies to your post, the mod will write what season it is and what type of weather your pack has for that month, which will ultimately effect how things go for you.

Winter- The sun will start to go down early and it will get colder. Snowfalls will become more common, and the pack will spend most of their time hunting and sleeping. Wolves who have dispersed from their packs will be looking for mates, making encounters with lone wolves most common during this season. Those loners however, are fairly unlikely to join a pack, opting to take their chances in creating their own pack instead. Alpha pairs will court one another and prepare for a new litter of pups, and hunts will be most successful during the mid to late winter. Because wolves are opportunistic, they will find and weed out sick, weak and aging animals who would not have survived the harsh winter anyway. During harsher winters, healthy animals are subject to becoming prey as well, being slowed by the thick, heavy snow. Wolves may also find carcasses to eat from.

Spring- During spring, hibernating prey and predators will begin to become active again. Pups will begin to be born, and prey animals will begin to start giving birth to their young. Heavily pregnant animals are easy catches, slower than their herds, but can be accompanied by bucks or bulls that will attack hunting wolves. Young calves, fawns, billies and kits are easy prey, and are an added bonus to the weaker, sicker animals that will start being fewer and far in between as summer approaches. Dispersal wolves who did not find mates will want to join packs to have better chances of survival over the summer. Wolves will make the trip to their rendezvous sites mid to late spring.

Summer- Summer is the most difficult season for wolves. The weak, sick, injured and young have been picked off, leaving only the healthiest prey available. Wolves are less likely to have successful hunts during this time, and more likely to become injured when pursuing large prey. This is the season when wolves fall back on smaller animals like rabbits, squirrels, fish, beavers and even mice. Other predators are having the same difficulties finding food, and become more aggressive. Most pack to pack conflicts happen during this time.

Fall- During fall, it will start to get colder, allowing the amount of prey wolves can hunt successfully to increase. The sun will start going down earlier and earlier and this will continue into winter. Hunters and poachers will be most common here, and predators will be most aggressive as they prepare to settle down and hibernate. Pups will begin to go with the pack on hunts now. During this season, the chances of catching illness is higher. If you send the same wolf out multiple times in the same post, they are more likely to catch a cold, which can lead to serious infection. After your wolf catches a cold, you should let them rest for at least one post, or they may develop a respiratory infection. Wolves will begin moving to their winter dens during this time.
Fun Fact: Wolves only use dens when giving birth to and nursing young pups. The den is only used for the Alpha Female and sometimes Alpha Male, while the Betas and Omega sleep under the open sky. The summer territory, or rendezvous site, is a portion of the territory where wolves go to follow the flow of prey and raise their young. There is no den at the rendezvous site, and all wolves sleep together under the stars.

Creating Your Pack
If it is your first time posting, you must tell me about your pack. You can describe things like your pack's name, nature, reputation, territory. When describing your territory, keep in mind that this game is set in Alaska, Canada and the Northernmost United States. A few things that would be good for you to tell me about would be what your winter den and rendezvous sites are like, and what kind of hunting ground your pack has. These things help me decide on what your first pair, the alpha male and female, will look like! I will quote your post with a picture of your first wolves and they will be the mated pair that is the foundation of your pack. You can decide things like their names, ages, and traits. Your Alpha Female will always have a dominance of 1, and your Alpha Male will always have a dominance of 2.

Establishing Dominance
When a wolf is introduced into your pack, they will be given a number that represents how dominant they are. Usually, new wolves that are introduced will be given a lower dominance number than existing wolves. In the wild, female wolves are more dominant than male wolves, so in each litter you have, female pups will be given a lower number than male wolves. For example, your Alpha Female is ranked 1 in dominance, and your Alpha Male is ranked 2. They give birth to their first litter of pups, one female and two males. Their dominance is ranked accordingly: 3, 4, and 5, respectively. The two females will be more dominant than their brother, even if he was born first.

After the first litter, your wolves will be ranked according to how old they are and what litter they came from. In the wild, the first litter is more dominant than the second, the second more than the third, and so on an so forth. So, for example, when your Alpha pair has their second litter, one female and one male, they will be ranked 6 and 7, respectively. In a litter, the females are always more dominant than the males, and in a pack, the older litter is always dominant to the younger litter.

If you find a lone wolf, this wolf will most likely be a number greater than the lowest numbered wolf in your pack. (The newcomer, however, will likely have a higher dominance than an already established omega.) This wolf will act normally in that all wolves born after he/she joins the pack will be of a lower dominance to him/her, and he/she will be subordinate to any wolves in the pack already when he/she arrived. This is not always the case, however, and the pack may have to shift their hierarchy to accommodate the newcomer.

Hunting Parties
Every post, your pack will use up one serving of food per pack member, so you will need to hunt often. When hunting, you can send a maximum of twelve wolves out at once, and the larger prey is, the more animals you will need to kill it without being injured. The amount of strength needed to kill prey is equal to half of its bounty: for example, one wolf can kill four squirrels or mice, but it would take ten or more wolves to kill a bull moose. even if you do have enough power to kill the animal, bulls, stags and goats can pack a powerful punch with their hooves, antlers, and horns. There are eight types of prey; moose, elk, caribou, white-tailed deer, mountain goats, beaver, fish (salmon and trout), and small mammals (snowshoe hares, squirrels, and mice). Very rarely, the mod who replies to your pack will give you something outside of those eight categories. If you run out of food, you have 2 posts to get enough prey back. After 1 post, your pack will get hungry, and after 2 posts, your lowest dominant wolf will die of starvation (or your youngest pup, if you have any). Every post after that, 1 wolf will die or disperse until you can catch enough prey, starting with your pups. Tip: If you are having a difficult time finding prey or prey is scarce, you can have your younger [less than three years] wolves disperse to reduce the food needed per post. They will still be living, but will no longer be part of your pack.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________
Patrols
Instead of hunting, you can choose to patrol the territory. The most wolves you can send on a patrol is eight. During patrols, your pack might find a carcass or extra food, chase off intruders, fight off predators, meet bordering packs, encounter dispersal wolves, and much, much more. Regularly patrolling and marking your territory enables you to protect your young and ward other wolves away. If you don't check your territory often, other wolves may begin to encroach on your borders, and predators who might not've trespassed otherwise will invade your hunting grounds. The best way to keep your pack and your offspring safe is to make regular patrols.

Having and Raising Pups
Without pups, your pack will struggle to survive. To have your Alpha pair breed, post them going for a walk together alone and playing with or courting one another. In our next post, we will time skip to the Alpha Female finding out she's expecting pups. You are only able to breed once a week, and only your Alpha Male and Alpha Female may breed and have pups. Once they have bred, you will have to wait two to three posts (two to three months), and your pups will be born. We will decide how many pups are born, their genders, dominance, and what they look like. You will be able to name them. Pups will nurse for one month [one post] before they grow their teeth and begin to wander outside of the den, weaning from their mothers milk. In two months [two posts], they will begin to be watched over by the Omega wolf. In four months [four posts], they will begin to learn to hunt with the pack, and by the age of one year [twelve posts] they will become full-fledged members of the pack. Between the ages of one and three years, they will have a choice to stay with the pack, or disperse to try and start their own.

Aging and Dispersal
You must age your wolf up 1 month every post that you post. If in one post, you had a pup that was 11 months, then in the next post they would become one year old. When a wolf is old enough [one to three years of age], they may decide to leave the pack and attempt to create a new pack of their own. When a wolf disperses, they will still be living, but will no longer be part of your pack. They may join someone else's pack if they fail to find a mate, or they might come back to their home pack and rejoin their family. Sometimes, they might appear as the Alpha of a new, NPC pack that you encounter. Dispersing wolves can be male or female, and between one and three years of age.

Illness, Injury, and Death
In this game, there are 5 possible ways for your wolf to die:

Stillbirth - Stillborn pups are pups that die close to the date of or during whelping. These pups are often undeveloped, and would not have survived long even if they had lived past being born. Stillbirth can happen for various reasons: if the mother is sick, injured, starving or old, the risk for stillbirth in her litter increases. That isn't to say stillbirths are common--in fact, stillbirth occurs in less than 10% of litters, with healthy, strong mothers very rarely losing her pups before or during whelping. Pup mortality in wolves, however, is relatively high, and 40% to 60% of pups born will not reach adulthood. Sometimes pups die days after being born for seemingly no reason.

Illness - Sickness in the wild ranges from common, non-issues disease like mange, to rare, debilitating and contagious diseases like canine distemper. Sometimes, your wolf can become ill from overworking themselves. Sending out the same wolf too many times without rest, or having them do multiple things every post, can result in that wolf becoming sick [this is most common in fall and winter]. A cold can develop into a lung or respiratory tract infection without rest and recovery, and can spread to weaker pack members if you aren't careful. Sometimes, carcasses have illnesses or poisons in them that killed the prey animal and can be transferred to anyone who eats it.

Injury - Injury is the leading cause of death for wolves. Your wolf can be injured while hunting, while driving off a threat, while fighting other wolves, by traps, hunters and poachers, and, very rarely, even being hit by cars. Even small injuries can get infected without rest and recovery, and result in the death of an otherwise healthy wolf.

Environment - Another leading cause of wolf deaths in the wild. Sometimes, wolves will die of exposure, succumbing to cold, starvation, thirst, heat, or natural disasters like avalanches. These things are just the way of life, and typically only affect the weaker members of the pack. When untouched by humans, wolves are extraordinary adapters, and can thrive and grow despite predators, exposure, illness and injury.

Old Age - In some cases, wolves may die of old age. Wolves can live up to around thirteen years when let be by predators and exposure. While this is not as common of a cause of death, it still happens once in a while. When the Alpha Male and/or Alpha Male die for any reason, the next most dominant wolf of that gender will move forward to take their place, and find a mate to continue the pack's legacy.

Allies and Enemies
If you meet a rival pack while on a patrol, you can choose to become their ally or their enemy. Ally packs usually act friendly towards each other and resolve disputes without fighting. If your pack is under attack by an enemy pack, your ally pack can join the fight and defend you as long as the enemy pack isn't their ally. If your ally defends you in an attack, you have a much less chance of your wolves dying or being dispersed. Enemy packs usually act hostile towards each other and often argue and fight. You can steal pups and prey while raiding enemy pack, or even drive them out of their territory and causing them to disperse. You need 6 adult wolves to do this and the only way the pack can get these back is if they attack the enemy pack. Attacks can prove fatal and there will often be wolves injured, captured or even killed during attacks. You can make peace and become allies with an enemy pack during a full moon.

Full Moons
Next Full Moon: TBD
Full moons happen once every 2 weeks, usually on Fridays (Some days are put earlier/later because of holidays). During a full moon, all packs are safe. Battles can be arranged and wolves can be traded. Packs can also form alliances and rivalries during this time. You can do this by getting the alphas to talk, and if they find common interests, or seem aggressive towards each other, they can become allies or enemies!

Post Format
After your first post, you will use the following format in every post to keep track of your pack. Replace the "link" in the X with the image of your wolf. You may edit slightly, but not too much.

Chowilawu - Joined together by water.
(( OOC; Well seeing as I went all out for Mossclan's first post... Might as well do the same here!))
________________________________________

The Chowilawu Pack was formed together by two former-standing packs. With the blood of these packs running in the veins of the two descendants, they were said to have been transported to these sacred lands, never before charted by their packs, by the Goddess herself. A sign for change - and new beginnings.
These descendants flourished in their newfound land, protected by the great waters surrounding them - blessed by the Goddess they were. Threats that would've diminished them in their former lands were minimal here, and the overabundance of prey due to the lack of hunting in the area for more than a couple decades was most beneficial to the young couple. It was here they sowed their seeds and took roots - watched over by the soaring mountains behind them, and protected by the waters that encircled them.

Beliefs and Personality The Chowilawu pack holds a very strong religion and beliefs system. They worship the Goddess who gives them light in the darkness of night, who blesses their pups when dipped in the sacred lake, and warns them of cursed who may be growing within their ranks. She protects them all, and they can only thank her for all that she has done.

She-wolves in the pack are to be the utmost respected. For to challenge even the weakest she-wolf in the pack is to challenge the Goddess herself. She-wolves always have the final say in the pack and their word is law. Not even the most dominant male can question the weakest female. Challenges for the position of Alpha are usually directed towards the Alpha Male, instead of the female.
For the pack truly believes challenging a female - especially an Alpha - is a surefire way to get yourself cursed or rejected by their goddess.

Ceremony's of the tribe are organized and looked over by the high females in the pack. It is considered taboo for a male to participate or even watch. Depending on the severity punishment can be a firm warning, being looked down upon for a week, to a full blown shunning, or exile. Omega's (always the males) are sometime's an exception to this rule. Should no high-female be present for such ceremony's an Omega may step up and carry out the duties.
High females are those of higher-ranking females (More dominant) and are low-key worshiped as the Goddess is.
A High Matriarch is a title that can only be held by one wolf at a time - usually an Alpha female.
A High Matriarch is considered to be the mother to all. They are usually the most dominant, and have had the most litters of pups.
Occasionally a High Matriarch can be found who's not an Alpha. Usually this is the case in a sister or close relative to the Alpha Female - or the previous Alpha Female herself.

Characteristics and Appearance The Chowilawu Pack's average build for a subordinate wolf is: Muscular. From highly visible bulky muscle, to hidden muscle the pack's wolves are always loaded with them. They're a very strong pack able to take down the largest of game with fewer members needed.
Where the main amount of muscle lies in a wolf depends on their size.
The larger more bulkier wolves (typically males) have most of their muscle lying in their shoulders and neck. These wolve's are the one's who finish the kill after the much smaller and faster wolves tire their prey out. They are also in the first line of defense should a battle break out.
The smaller more lean wolves have muscles that are more focused on theirs legs. They are faster runners due to their smaller size, and have built up amazing endurance. These wolves are the main hunters. They're sent out to chase and pick out prey from a herd and lead them towards the more muscle-y wolves who finish the kill.
There are some wolves who have a very small build up of muscle, they are the sprinters and agility wolves for the pack. They usually race around in short bursts (They don't have the most stamina) setting up traps when under attack. They are also the one's leading any evacuations should need be. These wolves tend to be really hyper and jittery and can second as a play-mate for lone-pups.
Do to their agility and fastness these wolves are the one's to participate in Salmon Runs which occur in the fall, as Salmon flood their northern west rivers.

Grey & Tan - Very Common
      Grey - Common
      Dark Grey - Common
      Black - Common
      Silver - Uncommon
      Pale - Uncommon
      White - Uncommon
      Brown - Very Uncommon
      Red - Rare
When it comes to appearance and fur colour, Chowilawu wolves are usually variants of the Grey Wolf, and hence their pelts are normally a grey colour. Brown fur is very uncommon, and red fur is rare and often even considered taboo. These wolves are the most likely to become cursed or have evil tendacy's. When a red pup is born parents are usually looked down upon, until the pups 2nd or 3rd month when they receive their name and are blessed or cursed.

Territory Camp grounds for the pack varies seasonally. It's picked by the Alpha Female based off where she wants to raise her pups. Sometime's she'll stay in the same den with more than 3 litters before moving on. Sometime's moving off as soon as the first litter is of age to hunt. (4-6 months)
The pack is constantly on the move, and attacks are very hard to plan on them due to the switching of camp sites and dens. One place however the wolves are always present at, and is their assigned meeting place is the Sacred Lake.

The Sacred lake is located to the east of the packs territory with connecting rivers on each side. It stretches out for miles, and on the other side is a human settlement. In the summer and fall months humans come down from those parts to inhabit small cabins scattered across the woods. This possess a danger to the wolves as sometime's it's not mere tourist's who briefly inhabit the log abodes, but hunters as well.
All meetings and ceremony's are held at the Sacred Lake, and it is where the wolves go to pray to the Goddess. Like at gatherings it is considered taboo for fights and arguments to break out here. Punishment to all involved in the fight will be dealt out should one happen to arise.

      The packs borders:
North East - A once wonderful forested area, now marred with roads and highways and even to the wolves horror a resort! For humans! This is a highly dangerous zone for the wolves through summer and fall with threats from hunters, and just humans in general. An uncareful wolf can get ran over by a off-road car or four-wheeler. Cabins are spread out widely in this area for humans to rent, and in the fall the lower Salmon population is almost completely wiped out by fishers! While the area is considered to be apart of a conservation park for the wolves it doesn't stop people from breaking the rules and harming the environment. Fines are being issued for fishers & hunters without licensing or park-ranger permission. But fish, deer, and wolves are still being over-hunted.
North - To the north lies a wide stretching river that branches off several times and flows away from the territory. Tree's here are thick, and clearings are sparse. This is a good place to catch Salmon as the fish frequent this neck of the river in fall. Wild Boar species can also be seen.
North West - To the North West lies a towering mountain, and beautiful waterfall that flows into the Northern river. Salmon are even more frequent here, and it is one of the best places to catch them. Beware though not only the wolves take advantage of this! Bears frequently come down from the mountain where they make their dens to feast upon the fish. It can make for a dangerous situation for younger wolves. The tree's here are still thick, but they start to disperse the closer to the mountain it gets making room for large rocky clearings to open up. Wild Mountain Goats can be seen here in flocks grazing between the rocks, and climbing on rocky outcliffs. Occasionally a Wildcat will wander this was west to prey on them.
West - The west is completely mountain! Totally impassable, and very dangerous. Larger Mountain Goats can be seen here, with their large and dangerous horns. The once well mixed trees of the forest are now peppered with pine's, and spruce as the climate here gets colder. Lots of snow runs off here in the spring and flows into the rivers. This can cause mild flooding, but it's not much of a concern as it can run off into their streams. It is only a large concern when there is so much snow that it causes streams to rise to dangerous levels. Wildcats are the main predator to the wolves here, preying on the abundance of goat. Snakes - venomous, and not - also like to sun bathe is the areas of rocky clearing and pose threat to young pups.
South West - To the south west the mountain starts to curl around the large circular territory the pack inhabits. This area is hilly and bare of trees. Long grasses grow, and a sparse few of goats can be found grazing on them. There is a hazard with snakes hiding in the grasses but the chance of a wolf stepping on one is slim. Snakes are more common in the immediate West. Badger dens can be found dug out in the hills, and abandon one's can be used as a den for the Alpha Female. Rabbit & hare warrens are also common.
South - To the south is a more or less undiscovered area. Wolves have never crossed over the southern river, and have had no real reason too. To be honest the South is one of the most unvisited areas in the wolves territory. It's mostly used when teaching younger wolves to hunt due to the open space but even then a forest is preferred. The most common type of prey here is in rodents,
and ground squirrels. While easy to catch they are only enough to fill a small pup. Rabbit and hare warrens are still frequent here,
and can serve as a small den for the Alpha Female when nursing pups. In Spring and Fall Canadian Geese can be found resting and meeting up in these fields after and before their migratory flights. Difficult to hunt given their sheer number, but a wolf may be lucky to snag one of the outskirts of a flock, or catch an injured bird unable to fly away.
South East - To the south east is a large sharp turn in the river. The bare grasslands from the west have started to fade out,
and a young forest rests here. Unfortunately this forest may just get cut down before it has chance to flourish. A large beaver population rests here building dams in the South & a small portion of the east river. The pack's rivals the Coyote's are also extremely common in these areas. Be careful bringing young pups here! White-tailed Deer frequent the area, with the occasional appearance of Elk or Caribou.
East - The east is where the Sacred Lake lies. Clearings are the most common in this part of the forest, popping up every now and again. Small pebbled streams also flow off of the river making homes for small minnows to swim. These grounds are prime for hunting, and it is where most is done. All species of deer in the forest come here to drink: Elk, Caribou, White-tailed Deer, Mule Deer, ect. Even the elusive moose can be seen sluggishly wading into the lake. Ceremony's are preformed at dark by the lake as the moon shines down on the waters. Meetings are also held. There is a large boulder overlooking the lake where the Alpha's sit to address the pack about any issues or plans.
Central Forest - This land is strictly the wolves. A beautiful mixed forest flourished surrounded by the diversity of the 8 sides of the territory. Alpha Female picks this area to raise her pups the most. Despite the constant changing of dens this area could be considering the main camp for the pack. This is where all the deer and caribou roam when not gathered by the Sacred Lake.

      Prey/Predator List
Wild Goats (Prey - Minor Danger) - Goats are a small part of the wolves diet. When they're unable to catch larger prey such as deer, goats are usually the next best thing! They come in two variants: The smaller uncommon goats with almost harmless horns that live in the North West. The larger more common goats that live in the West are what the pack mainly hunts.
These goats are much more dangerous however. Larger horns, stronger legs and kicks, and they live in a more dangerous environment.
Hares/Rabbits (Small Prey) - Rabbits & Hares are a fast paced highly sensitive animal that the wolves hunt. They are found in the West and South West. It take's smaller built wolves with alot of endurance and speed on their side to catch one of these! Out of all hunts that involve a Rabbit most of time it senses the wolf and runs away. Because of that they are ignored and go unhunted, and just used for their abandoned dens.
Badgers/Raccoons (Small Prey - Minor Threat) - Badgers and Raccoons make terrible prey! The pack doesn't like the taste of them at all! Usually just hunted to eliminate threats to their pups, it's only in times of great need when they're hunted for food. Their abandoned dens make a great place for the Alpha Female to raise her pups though!
Beavers (Small Prey - Nuisance) - Beavers are another uncommon prey item the wolves hunt. While their tails are good to chew on and fend of hunger while waiting for a hunt to return, they aren't much for a growing wolf, and mother with pups. They can be found in the South East where they destroy the new forest, and flood their rivers.
Ground Squirrels/Rodents (Tiny Prey) - Rodents are more of a snack for the wolves than an actual meal. Mostly fed to hungry pups who can't wait long enough for their main meal. They can be found in the South & South West.
Salmon (Seasonal Small Prey) - Salmon are a small seasonal prey the wolves only hunt in the fall. The smaller more agile wolves are annually sent up during the fall for the Salmon Run, often accompanied by a larger wolf for protection. Fights sometime's break out for the fish against bears. The can be found in the North, and North West. Even in the North East before overfished, but it's too close to humans for the wolves to venture down there.
Elk (Large Prey - Minor Danger) - Elk! One of the main source of food for the wolves. These large ungulates have to be hunted in packs in order to be taken down. It's best to let the packs runners cut a doe from the herd before attacking. Beware of the bulls they have sharp antlers! All Elk can kick, and a well delivered one can permanently injure or kill a wolf.
Moose (Huge Prey - Medium Danger) - Moose! This is an uncommon prey item for the wolves. These massive creatures are incredibly hard to take down, yet provide food for months!! These hunts usually end at the expanse of another wolf though. Be it a step on paw, or broken leg from a kick. Or even a fatality.
White-Tailed Deer (Medium Prey - Minor Danger) - Deer! One of the main source of food for the wolves. These medium-sized ungulates have to be hunted in packs in order to be taken down. However singular take-downs have occurred. It's best to let the packs runners cut a doe from the herd before attacking. Beware of the Stags they have sharp antlers! All Deer can kick, and a well delivered one can permanently injure a wolf.
Mule Deer (Medium Prey - Minor Danger) - Deer! One of the main source of food for the wolves. These medium-sized ungulates have to be hunted in packs in order to be taken down. However singular take-downs have occurred. It's best to let the packs runners cut a doe from the herd before attacking. Beware of the Bucks they have sharp antlers! Overview
The wolves of the Deep Forest Pack lives in the deepest part of a deciduous forest, with a stream crossing through it and a large cave towards the center of the territory where they make their camp. They are reclusive and territorial and will not hesitate to fight in order to protect each other, but would prefer to try talking first.

The founding wolves are Musk and Brownie, with their pups being Blackie and Gray.

Territory
The Deep Forest Pack's territory consists of deciduous trees, with a stream running from the east to the west. The mountain has many caves, some of which are used as camps for the pack.

North border: The Deep Forest Pack borders (x) at this border.

Restarting with my alpha pair: Kestrel (Male) + Juniper (Female)
and two of their seven pups: Sandstone (Female) + Sol (Male)

The wolves of the pack of echoing howls are known to be friendly and outgoing. The pack of echoing howls was named for the sound of their howls echoing through the mountains. They usually try to avoid fights with other packs but if they feel threatened, they will do everything in their power to protect the pack.

Their territory is spread out going a beautiful mountain range that is covered in lush trees. In the summer and spring, the mountain comes alive with beautiful flowers and is usually filled with newborn, rambunctious pups. In the fall, the pups are allowed to leave the camp with hunting patrols but one of their parents must be in that patrol until they are older or have proven themselves to be responsible enough to not need their parents watching over them. During winter, you see less of the really young wolves. The alphas choose the send the young wolves out on less patrols to keep them from getting sick or injured by enemy wolves.

Since the pack of echoing howls in in the mountains, their pelts are usually darker in color (i.e. black, grey etc.) so they can blend in easily with their surroundings. Despite this, they'll get a wolf of different coloring occasionally if they are found on patrols. White and silver wolves are considered to be the most beautiful pelt colors in this pack because of how unusual they are.

Members of the pack of echoing howls usually have slender builds, built for speed and endurance, and powerful hind legs, built for climbing and jumping from rock to rock.

Their camp is hidden in the middle of the mountain in one of their patches of forests. It's nestled against a large rock pile. The camp has many hidden crevices that are used as dens.

Snow Blizzard Pack

Snow Blizzard Pack easily lives where it's cold, and windy. Their coats are usually thick year round to keep warm during the weather. Once every 8 months, they do enjoy a warmth for four months.Seeing as their coats are thick, it can cover their eyes easily, and hid the color from them. Most of the eyes colors are blue, gray or a mix of the two. Once in awhile, their can be one that doesn't meet the stranded of the group and have brown eyes. Snow Blizzard Pack is one that is more laid back, and go with the flow personality. They only fight if the have to, and mostly in defense of themselves.

Brownie grinned as she bounded through the forest. Even a year later, she hadn't lost any of her energy, something that Musk envied her for. They had just moved into their new territory, which was similar to the previous one but far more mountainous, which was useful for determining their camp site. Now that they were settled, the two were determined to raise the next generation.

"C'mon!" yipped Brownie, looking back at Musk. He laughed soundlessly and galloped after his mate.

Later that month, the two alphas knew that it was time to start hunting and patrolling their territory, as food wouldn't come to them while the predators would. Brownie told Musk and Gray to go hunt while she and Blackie patrolled, making the division of roles equal. The two betas followed orders without hesitation, knowing how important it was to get routine established.

Sandstone and Sol scurried ahead of their parents, barking happily as they nipped at each other and fought. Kestrel shot his mate, Juniper, an amused glance. Juniper rolled her eyes before leaning against Kestrel's shoulder, her tail wagging happily. "It's good that we found a new territory to call home." She said, looking up at Kestrel. Grief flashed in the alpha male's eyes before he nodded in agreement.

"We lost too much in the last territory... I wouldn't be able to go back to our winter den before thinking about them." Kestrel said. Juniper nodded in agreement, thinking about five pups the pair had lost when they tried to make their way to the spring den. The only pups left alive from their first and only litter was Sandstone and Sol.

Kestrel and Juniper hadn't lost the five pups all at once, but it still hurt all the same. The small pack had been on the second day of their journey when a bear picked off little Wren when she had started to lag behind the group. Several days later, Caper died from a sickness he had been born with. Cricket and Cypress died a few days before they made it to the spring den, unable to deal with the lack of food. Juniper hadn't been able to eat enough food so she couldn't supply enough milk to sustain them all. The dwindling pack had been living at the spring den for a week when Alder snuck out of the den to explore and got caught in a bear trap. He had already been dead for a few hours when Kestrel and Juniper had found him. The alpha pair had expected Sandstone and Sol to die soon as well, but the two pups slowly became stronger and smarter.

"You two be careful!" Juniper called up to the two betas.

"We will!" Sandstone barked back happily before disappearing over the small hill with Sol.

the eiramach pack

Postby kaden » Fri Jun 30, 2017 7:39 pm

the eiramach pack dwells within a southernmost cold, bare area, far away from any human civilization, however, an human experienced hunter used to travel this far every now and then, but since the herds have dispersed slightly the humans have been scarce as well. the area they regularly traverse is a massive valley, vast and unforgiving. the vegetation, even minor things like grass and shrubbery, are sparse, and only cover the tundra in a key areas. hardly a thing besides dead vegetation, snow and young wolves stir in this valley once plentiful.

while the eiramach pack is fairly new, traditions have been carried on through their former packs. the wolves tend to to settle disputes through fighting and insults. although tbrough the eiramach wolves perspective it helped establish dominanance and order in the pack. here, whomever is the best fighter, bore the most colorful tongue or knew how to manipulate made their way earned respect. they also do not take kindly to loners. the wolves from the eiramach pack also have a title. 'royalty', which constituted to alpha pair - with their continuing bloodlines. the titles are only used formally or when greeting the alphas, and wolves close with the alphas don't need to feel required to call them by their full title [i.e. king robin, queen iris]. wolves in the pack that are offspring to the alphas have the titles prince or princess as pups, and if they choose to stay with the pack instead of dispersing, their title changes to sir or lady. loners that join the pack which are betas are referred to as lord or lady and the omega's title is master or miss. although their main method of gaining dominance and establishing their rank is violence and intimidation, they train their pups harshly so that the pack will grow up well guarded and they start their training from when they first get weaned. They can be kind though and the pack is reputable for being closely knit together and having a tight bond.
