You see, I was on the search for the illusive Sasquatch, when I tripped and tumbled down into a mysterious clearing within the jungle. When I looked up, hundreds of pairs of little eyes were staring at me. I set up my camp nearby, and every day would come back to this spot. Eventually the creatures trusted me enough to reveal themselves. I was beside myself with excitement! Everywhere there were hundreds of little bat-like creatures with butterfly wings. This was a scientific breakthrough! How had they evaded the minds of men for so long? It certainly does take a long time to gain their trust. They're prey animals you see, so instinctively they must always be alert and cautious, especially when it comes to animals they've never encountered before. They entrust very few with the gift of their companionship, will you be one of those few?[/list][/i]

[list][i][color=transparent]XXXXXXXXXX[/color]Fret not! We're a fairly small and laid back community, and welcome new members with open arms (or wings?) Most of our competitions are small and easy to participate in so as to help make BFs accessible to a wide variety of people. I wanted to add this portion to the thread because I know when I'm looking through adoptables I always feel like I might not belong in an already established community (through no fault of the adoptable owners, it's just me being weird :T) so I'd like to clear any feelings like that people might have about BFs. I'm more than happy to help you with anything you may need and answer any questions you may have. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you around![/i][/list]

Basic Information

➤ Batterflies are roughly the size of your average mouse.
➤ They are timid around other creatures, especially known predators.
➤ They communicate through a series of chirps and coo-ing. It has also been discovered that, like bats, they use echolocation to help them navigate and find food.
➤ They appear to have bat-like features with the wings of butterflies. Unlike bats, however, they do have two little arms with hands at the end.
➤ A group of batterflies is called a "society" of batterflies.

Environment

➤ Batterflies live in trees. They will often build nests in branches or holes in tree trunks. Some have also been seen living in little burrows in the ground
➤ So far they've only been found living in the Amazon Jungles. It is not yet known if they are native to any other areas.

Way of Life

➤ Batterflies appear to be a matriarchal society, with a "queen" batterfly directing the flow of resources within her society.
➤ They are also very family oriented. Mothers are very protective of their young, and will readily sacrifice themselves if they absolutely must in order to protect her babies
➤ They are omnivores. A Batterfly's diet consists mainly of small insects and fruit.

➤ At the moment there are no adoption limits.
➤ You may not sell any BFs you win. This is a free species run by myself, and any transactions involving the species must receive my approval.
➤ I would like this community to be one of kindness and support. If a problem arises with a member being rude to others, they may be punished through measures such as not being able to adopt for a set period of time, or being banned completely.
➤ Always give credit where credit is due.
➤ Please don't whine if you don't win and/or try to make the winner feel bad! There will always be more opportunities to win Batterflies in the future.

XXXXXX Hello and welcome to the Batty Boutique!We all love our Batterflies, but who doesn't want to accessorize every now and then? Here you can send your BF off on different jobs where they will collect "Bat Bucks," their form of currency. You can use these bucks to buy different items for your Batterfly!

How it works

➤ You can look through our compilation of job listings to see which one would be best suited for your winged friend.
➤ Once you find one you like, fill out the form below and private message it to me.
➤ The amount of bat bucks accumulated will be kept track of in a Google spreadsheet. It will be linked below so you can see how many you have!
➤ Remember: Cooldown times apply to all your Batterflies. When you send one out on a job, you must wait the given time before you can send out any more.
➤ When you have enough bucks for the item you'd like to buy, fill out the form below!
➤ In the future we hope to open up Batterfly Quests! These will earn even more bat bucks, but will have longer cooldown times

3. Custom Batterfly: You can have any of our artists (including myself) custom design you a Batterfly
