what's their favourite animal? why? : juniper's love for manatees began when she was a young kalon, visiting the beautiful oceans of florida. she noticed a calf playing with his mother, and was intrigued by how manatees thought so similar to humans. from then on, juniper studied to be a manatee biologist. now, juniper lives in a quant cottage by the ocean, happy with her manatees.
juniper owns everything manatee. she has a jumbo manatee plush, a manatee mug, pajamas, headphones, the whole nine yards.

Helen's favorite animal is the kangaroo. Since she lives in a desert somewhere in Australia,
she's observed many of the animals that lurk in the boiling day and in the shivering night, and
one of those animals include the kangaroo. Helen owns a kangaroo plush that her father (makes since right?)
had found somewhere down in a shop, knowing how much she adored kangaroos.

carter recently decided that his favorite animals in the entire world are pangolins. they're so small and perfect, like a mix of an armadillo and a monkey (two of his old favorite animals). he's always had the worst indecision when it came to his favorite animal, but when he found pangolins, it cleared up!

he's an avid hoarder collector of all thing pangolin. even his wallpaper is a print of little pangolins. his family is concerned, but he doesn't see why, he just loves the little scaly buddies so much! he lives in montana, though, so his hopes of ever seeing one have been crushed. but he can always have his stuffed pangolins instead. some nights, he'll cuddle up in his pangolin onesie, with his favorite pangolin plushies in his pangolin bedsheets and watch a documentary on pangolins. fun times.

what's their favourite animal? why? : lapras!! Milan's favorite animal isn't a real animal and some people wouldn't even consider it a mythical animal, as it's only featured in video games. However, Milan simply adores them. They're completely adorable, and they're by far her favorite pokemon. In fact, the lapras was one of her first pokemon way back when she was a tiny child and it inspired her love of pokemon and other video games. Without the lapras, Milan may never have become a video game developer.

what's their favourite animal? why? : April loves the narwhal for its majesticness (THAT IS A WORD). She loves how it is so unique and she loves how it is like the unicorn of the sea. The little dreamer girl would be totally content with nothing more than a room full of narwhals. She obsesses over them, her notebooks are full of narwhal doodles, she even wants to get a narwhal tattoo when she's older!

what's their favourite animal? why? : The Jerboa (+ extra jumping footage) are Miki's favorite animal because they are adorable little jumpers! With hind limbs at least four times as long as their forelimbs and long tails to add balance, they get around just about anywhere by jumping. She is always amazed by their erratic jumping ability to jump several feet both horizontally and vertically, which Miki admires for being so small creatures. They also don't drink water, instead getting all their moisture from their food, which Miki thinks is really interesting. Additionally, she finds there is always new things to learn about the little species as they have 33 species, and not being fully identified still leave them with a lot to be learned about.

They are found all throughout Northern Africa and Asia (east to northern China and Manchuria). Miki, being from Mongolia has always lived near the Gobi Desert and other areas were some of these jerboa species live. As a child, she remembers scuttling after jerboa in the night, and as she grew up it turned into a fascination for her along with the many other plant and animal life in the deserts native to her home.
