There are few negative things to say about Finian. Finding his humble
beginnings as the son of two barn cats, Finian has led a bit of a life of
luxury. He was the only kit in his litter, born to the loving couple Molli
and Whiskers, but he certainly wasn't alone; the two had had litters of
four and three before him and the majority of them had stayed. There
fore, Finn was intensely adored as the kit of the group... but that kind
of pressure was too overwhelming to him, so when he reached sixteen
moons and was fairly confident in his hunting ability, Finn said goodbye
to his family and set off on his own. Not surprisingly, forest life did not
welcome Finn well. Hunting was extraordinarily hard, and learning how
to deal with the mean, rugged cats that resided there was even harder.
The day that he met Rue was a complete and utter miracle. The she-cat
had padded right up to him, looked him in the eye, and asked him if he
was a rogue. "I'm a loner," he corrected her kindly, a bit wary of this she-
cat's intentions. However, her response was just 'good...' and she shared
a freshly caught squirrel with him. Baffled by this strange cat, Finn asked
her if she was a rogue. With a wicked grin, Rue informed him that it dep-
ended on the day. Finn and Rue talked and hunted together for moons; it
was a slowly budding romance: the adventures of the kind tom and quirky
she-cat. They even had a kit together named

Standoffish and mean, Finian tends to express a typical feral pers
onality. However, instead of being timid or shy, Finn is rather bold
and will speak his mind without thinking. This hate-filled tom is a
highly defensive creature; he relies on sarcasm to hide his internal
pain. However, while Finn is brazen and puts up a front that might
suggest otherwise, he is actually pretty sensitive and is hurt quite
easily; perhaps this is why he becomes so defensive. Not surprising
ly, Finn also has a pretty short fuse. Don't let him fool you; Finian
does have a conscience. If he hurts you, he'll feel guilty & drop it.

Finian was born in captivity; a well-renowned breeder's captivity,
that is. His parents had made three litters of perfect kits before
him, and consequentially, his mom simply treated his litter like
they were anyone else's kits; she was not a mom. Anyways, Finn
was no exception: another 'perfect kitten,' already forming show
quality markings. He was snatched up immediately and taken...
but he hated it. The stupid creatures insisted on touching him all
the time, regardless of him telling them when he'd had enough, &
he resorted to biting and scratching. This lasted for moons before
they gave up and dropped Finian in his alleyway two moons ago.

bblepaw being bullied. He didn't have very
many friends, so one day, when he met a s
he-cat outside the clan, he decided to talk
to her. Many moons later, Pebbleclaw reali

Extended history:

Pebblestar's life started out normal enough. He was born with one brother to Stormface and Greyflower, an older couple that hadn't previously planned on having kits but were delighted when they did. One kit was very small and one kit was quite large, so- since they were both gray tabbies and Greyflower had an affinity for 'cleverly' named kits -they named the smaller one Pebblekit and the bigger one Boulderkit.

For a while it was cute. Little clumsy Pebblekit got tons of attention from the queens, who cooed over his small stature and wide eyes, and Boulderkit got tons of attention from the toms that predicted that he would be the next great fighter of the clan. Even though they were incredibly different from each other, the brothers were even quite close; it just worked... that was, until they became apprentices.

While Boulderpaw thrived socially and excelled in his training, Pebblepaw was immediately scrutinized for his consistently smaller than average stature and seeming lack of any natural skill. His mentor, Whitenose, was patient but detached; the tom simply didn't have much time for a social pariah who couldn't talk right and didn't show much promise when it came to his training. The other apprentices were just as power-hungry as Boulderpaw and therefore flocked to the larger tom, begging him to tell them their secrets while leaving Pebblepaw behind. No, scratch that- Pebblepaw would have rather been left behind if he had had a choice between that and the bullying he had to go through. They were downright cruel to the poor tom.

Friendless and alone, the eight moon old Pebblepaw wandered beyond the borders of the clan, wondering what life would be like if he just simply decided to leave. After all, nobody wanted him there; it wasn't like he had much to miss, apart from his mother. That was when he met a bright-eyed, friendly she-cat of ten moons named Star. She was perhaps the greatest cat he'd ever met; warm and inviting, Star was immediately befriended by Pebblepaw. They met whenever they could; Star even started giving Pebblepaw some lessons, as she excelled at both fighting and hunting. Over the next three moons, Pebblepaw improved greatly in all aspects; he was far better at socializing, he could actually catch prey, he was very adept at fighting...

And these changes didn't go unnoticed.

As Pebblepaw gained popularity, Boulderpaw became skeptical of his brother's newfound greatness and watched him closer. Every other night, Pebblepaw would leave the apprentice den in the dead of night, slipping out of camp completely unnoticed... and one chilly leaffall, unbeknownst to Pebblepaw, Boulderpaw followed him.

Of course, Pebblepaw was meeting Star; he was very careful to mask his trail, but Boulderpaw wasn't going to be deterred. The larger tom immediately called his brother out; it was a huge scene in which the aggressive tom exploded on Pebblepaw, raging about what a disgrace he was to the clan and how Pebblepaw should leave. Upset, Pebblepaw swiped at his brother... knocking him into the freezing river, where he was immediately swept away by the strong current. Pebblepaw and Star raced after him; if Boulderpaw hadn't been so strong, he probably wouldn't have been able to swim to the bank, where he found a cluster of roots to cling to as Star and Pebblepaw tried to help him.

In the end, they managed to pull Boulderpaw out of the water, but the big grey tabby was completely soaked through and was shivering to the point where he was almost convulsing with cold. As Star couldn't come to the clan and Pebblepaw couldn't carry his brother alone, they spent the night licking the water from Boulderpaw's fur and staying pressed against him to try to warm him up. By morning, Boulderpaw could finally walk, and with a grim and weary goodbye to Star, the brothers dragged themselves to camp, Boulderpaw still shivering into Pebblepaw's side. Pebblepaw was surprised to note that he was almost as tall as his brother; finally, after spending his life being teased for his size, he wasn't the pebble in the boulder's shadow.

However, over the next few moons, Boulderstrike wasn't doing very well. Pebbleclaw spent most of his time in the medicine den, tending to his brother's every need, but there was simply nothing anyone could do to help him... even the medicine cat admitted- in hushed tones, of course -to their mother that it was only a matter of time before the large tom would die. And he did, but only indirectly because of his sickness; Boulderstrike was found dead one morning after he had consumed deathberries in the night.

Pebbleclaw was scarred for life. He was completely responsible for his brother's death; if he just hadn't gotten mad enough to take a swipe at him... and of course, Boulderstrike hadn't spoken a word about Star to anyone. The first inklings of guilt about his relationship with the loner she-cat started worming their way into Pebbleclaw's gut. He was certain he loved her- he loved her more than anything -but at what cost? Still, even though he tried to distance himself, he kept going back to her for the next few moons. She was his crutch; in fact, she was responsible for every bit of who he was.

However, when he was made a young deputy at the age of twenty-six moons, the guilt grew unbearable. Pebbleclaw was no longer a lost, troubled kit with thoughts of leaving the clan; he was a deputy, one of the most respected cats there was. His duty was completely and totally to serve the clan as best as he could, and to do that, he could no longer see Star.

The breakup was messy. Pebbleclaw spent many nights crying into his nest, considering leaving to see her and yet knowing that he couldn't. To this day, he still misses her, and occasionally he'll go to where they used to meet, but she has become more of a fond memory than a trigger to his broken heart.

Of course, nobody knows about her or that he was responsible for his brother's death... but he has grown lonely.
