Meet Mozart Aka Mo-Mo.
Mozart is a miniature German Shepherd Dog.
- Yes such a dog does exist.
- No it is not a registered breed.
Mozart is a rarity. She is not a character that I play nor a design that I created. Her design is her own. She was born that way. Though this picture doesn't do her justice it is good enough.
I got Mo by chance. I happened upon the people who came up with this bloodline and was offered the chance to own one of the pups of an up coming litter. At the time I had a job that worked me like a ... well like a dog for lack of a better term. Over the cores of the summer I was able to get enough put back to afford the pup. She was my pick of the litter and even today I wouldn't trade her for the world. I worked with Mozart along with my other dogs, of which I had 36. No I am not a hoarder. At that time I was raising sled dogs.
Despite being smaller than all the other dogs Mo fit in well. She was not afraid of the larger dogs or the horse. She is a smart dog and I was able to train her easily enough. She learned quickly and by the time she was a year old she was fully obedience trained without leash and with distractions in place. At a year and a half she passed the test to become a therapy dog and e able to wok in the hospitals and retirement homes. She loved her work and looked forward to it.
She is a pistol but one of the best dogs that I have ever owned. She has saved my mother's life and stood beside me for ten long years now. She is not retired from her work as she started to develop a tumor on her side when she was about six years old. Due to the fact that she is allergic to anesthesia they are not able to remove or even do testing on it. Do not worry it causes her no pain. I make sure of that. She sees a vet regularly. Our family vet is over 300 miles away and we take her to him every few months to have it checked.
Mozart, despite being obedient to my commands, is an alpha dog. She pits my nearly 300 pound [all muscle] Caucasian in his place and reminds him who is in charge. She is probably one of the est baby sitters you could ever find too. And she works for biscuits ;) .
Over all Mozart lives a comfortable life these days. Running on three acres and chasing rabbits and rocks.
-Thanks for reading and we hope that you have enjoyed your introduction to Mozart.
*Feel free to leave comments and questions. I'll answer when I can.
-I'll try to get a likeness of my Caucasian up soon.
