The Village is CLOSED: We are currently NOT accepting New Villagers!
How to Play:
All of you players are villagers, living quite comfortably in a village, until suddenly, somebody gets killed in the night. The culprit: a werewolf, one of the villagers. Each night the werewolf eats one more villager and in response each day the villagers volunteer one of their own to be killed in an effort to weed out the werewolf. Most of the time, they guess wrong, but you never know. One of the villagers is also a Seer, who can tell whether each villager is a human or really the werewolf. Their powers are limited, however, and they can only do this for one villager each day.
So, that being said, there is a werewolf. This is one of the villagers, no one knows who (chosen by a drawing from the Scrying Pool of Fate) and this player eats a villager each night. Before this, though, the villagers get a chance at killing the werewolf. Each player can vote in the hours between my posts and they are to post who they vote for on the board. Feel free to chat on the board, but please don't overload it, and make sure you put who you vote for in Bold. Also, since you can't vote for several people, only put one name in bold. Feel free to persuade others to vote for the same person as you, and not to vote for you. You can change your vote, as long as it is before the start of the next day. Just make sure to put your answer in bold, and to make it clear you're changing your vote, and who you're changing your vote from.
Those who have been eaten by the werewolf or killed by the villagers are still allowed to participate, express their opinions and vote, however they cannot be voted for, seeing as they are innocent. The game ends when the Werewolf is caught, or the Werewolf eats/villagers kill everyone.
Special Draw Rule:
In the case of a draw, no one is killed by the players, but the werewolf still get to eat someone.
Joining the Game:
Before the game can start, of course, it needs players! The host will decide on how many people are allowed to join the game (some games will therefore be larger and longer than others,
but again, that all depends on the host) and create a blank roster in the first post. Joining is easy: just post in the thread saying you want to take part, and your name will be added to the list of players until the roster is full. At that point, the village will be closed and no new players will be accepted.
Once the playerlist has been entirely filled, the game roles will
be chosen via the Scrying Pool of Fate (aka random.org) and the host will notify the lucky chosen via PM (read on for more information about the different roles and how they work). If you do not receive a PM before the game officially starts, then you have not been chosen for any specific role; you are a normal villager and must play the game accordingly, voting for
whom you believe might be the wolf and trying to survive from day to day. If more people join the game than the roster allows before the village is closed, it is up to the host's discretion whether or not to honor their request and add them to the game.
Rules for the Werewolf:
The werewolf will be chosen by the Scrying Pool of Fate (i.e. random.org), so please don't badger me about being the werewolf. Now, the werewolf is exactly like all the other villagers; (apparently) terrified of being eaten, voting for who they (want people to think they) think is the werewolf and denying their guilt. There is one difference however; every night they eat someone. To eat someone, simply PM me sometime before the next round (I will make a final call for all PMs) who you think looks rather tasty and you'd rather fancy having a bite of. Of course you can't tell anyone that you're the wolf (why for goodness' sake would you?), but feel free to turn the villagers against each other while you sit back and admire your evil, mastermind plan. Muahahaha!
To avoid confusing the poor host, please put the name of your next snack in bold.
If the amount of players reaches over 25 then we will have two werewolves, if not, then there will only be one. If there are two, the werewolves know each other, and can communicate via PM.
If a werewolf gets killed he/she is still allowed to vote.
If a wolf does not PM the host within one week, the host will choose who is eaten via random.org (and may or may not reveal such). If a wolf knows they will not be on Chickensmoothie for a few days, then said wolf must PM the
host saying they will not be on for said amount of time. If the wolf is not sure exactly when they will be back, then the wolf must specify in their PM that they are not sure of the exact date they will be back, but that it will be within day X and day Y.
Rules for the Seer:
The Seer will also be chosen by the Scrying Pool of Fate, but unlike the werewolf you don't get to eat anyone. Now, before you start complaining, you do get to PM me the name of one
member. I'll then PM you back telling you if this tiny (yes, tiny) villager is in fact a monstrous and hungry werewolf... or not. Watch out, though; you can still be eaten by the wolves or lynched by the villagers just as easily as everyone else! You cannot tell anyone or otherwise imply that you are the Seer; you must rely on your powers of persuasion to let people know who is innocent or guilty. Implying that you are the Seer includes such things as, "Hey everyone, you should vote for [BLANK] because I know that s/he is the werewolf, because [THE HOST] told me so in a PM." Also, no one else may say they are the Seer to try and stay alive. After the Seer is dead, they
can still vote, but can't ask me if someone is the werewolf.
Again, to avoid confusing the poor host (me), put the name of the person you want to investigate in bold.
Unless we get over 25 players, there will be only one seer. If we do have two seers, they do not know each other.
Who Gets to Host Next?
The next host will be chosen by the number of points earned at the end of the game (e.g. the winner), unless the werewolf wins, in which can she/he gets to be the next host. In the event of a draw, the players with equal points get to choose between themselves who the next host will be. If they can't reach a
(civil) agreement, then the third placer becomes the host. If they don't wish to, the fourth, then fifth, so on so on...
Rules for General Posting:
There's always a lot of posting going on in the Werewolf Game, but some of it is directly related to the role playing going on, and some is off topic. By convention, all the of the Out of Character (OOC) chat is separated out from the In Character (IC) stuff by double parentheses around the whole text, which makes it easier for everybody who is—or isn't—in the role play
to sort through what they're most interested in keeping up with. Players can use both within a single post, as well, such as:
((Out of Character chat)) In Character role play ((Out of Character chat)).
Therefor, double posting? No way. There's an edit button. :3
Proper grammar and spelling is not explicitly required, but would be very much appreciated by the rest of us. Especially me.
Inactivity:
If you have not posted to vote or role-play for three in-game days (aka rounds) without first notifying me in-thread or by PM, you will be killed in a gruesome and terrible manner, neither by wolf nor lynching but entirely up to the host's imagination. (Trust me, you don't want it to happen. o. o) If the inactive player is by chance the only surviving werewolf, the game will end and the next host chosen based on the then-current point tally.
Point System:
Voting for the right person (given for each day) - 2 points
Surviving a round/day (given for each day) - 2 points
Surviving a draw round - 1 point
Identifying Werewolf (Seer) - 2 points
Eating Seer (Werewolf) - 2 points
Not being voted for in an entire round/day - 2 points
Surviving - 3 points
