Okay, I think this is going to have to be one of my favourite pet pairings. Beta are so CUTE!

The Tail Of The Eccentric Pair: Carmine (♀) & Markie (♂)

There was never was ever a pair
Who were stranger than them,
Carmine E'Claire
and Markie

She floated around like life was a dream,
Or to Markie, the dream itself, so it would seem.

He watched her for days
Months
Years
Oh how he adored Carmine E'Claire.

He would inform her of feelings, a thought suggested by Matt,
He would do so today, and that was that...

Markie had never felt so nervous in his life.
He meekly swam over to Carmine, carrying his fruit kebab. 'I hope she likes fruit kebabs...' he thought.
She was floating over a stool, sipping her hot chocolate. She never left home without her hot chocolate, even during last years 'drought'.

"Errrr... Hi, Carmine."
Carmine turned to Markie. "Oh, hello, Marcus. I was just drinking my hot chocolate." she babbled brightly.
Markie couldn't hide his smile. "I see. And you can call me Markie," he paused briefly and looked shyly at her, "Wanna fruit kebab?"
Carmine looked slightly shocked, "Oh, I could not, sorry Marcus. I am against cruelty to fruits."
"Oh..." Markie slightly wilted on the spot.
"However, I would love to have a fudge brownie right now. Would you like to come with me?"

I think everyone can guess Markie's answer.
