- Bluestorm brags about leading a patrol that chased away rogues
-Swanflight reminds her that someone was also injured on her patrol, angering her
- The two bicker, and wind claw forces them to break it up, angering Bluestorm more when he doesn't tell Swanflight off more

-Spothops is angry as he sees Creamfoot treating Jaggedear with a medication that that his brother needs
-Hyenapaw tries to explain that another medication is needed, and it is wise to treat who you can
-Fernpaw watches his brother wearily

- Spothop tires to get his visiting healthy siblings to interrogate the investigation team (Laurelstar, Fernstep, Sandbrush, Sunflower, Coyotefang, Sleekshine, Snarlpelt)
- Snowshoe says they will tell them what they know when they know it, and later Tigersoul tells Snowshoe he thinks their brother is acting odd, but doesn't tell her about the weirdness he senses around Windclaw

LEAFBARE || The days are cold. The nights are long. Snow falls periodically, coating the grass with a frosty sheen of ice. It is perhaps the hardest season, but many agree it to also be the most beautiful. Hungry predators prowl through the forests, greedy enough to attack fiercer opponents for the slightest chance at a measly scrap to eat. The levels of sickness rise to an almost unbearable point, and most agree on one thing. Life is hard.

ixxx▬sealfisher had proven a good cat to come on the patrol to find the predator, baldstar mused brightly as they returned home. much to their luck, baldstar's anxieties had been for nothing. the predator seemed to have left the area, presumably because of the frigidness of the territory that the cats were accustomed to. sealfisher had stuck close to baldstar the entire journey to the stale predator scent, bouncing plans of attack and caution off of the leader. it helped greatly, and by the time they'd reached the spot, baldstar was confident again, but he was much happier they hadn't had to fight.
ixxx▬he had been right, when he'd given sealfisher his name on the totem. he would do much for the clan - it suddenly struck baldstar. sealfisher would be his ravencaller! he was level headed and kind, with an analytical brain - even baldstar could admit that he himself was certainly not analytical, and it would be swell to have a wise tomcat like sealfisher to confide in from time to time.
ixxx▬he'd made his decision. now, he only had to announce it to his clan - and sealfisher, too.

ixxx▬"sealfisher!" the cats of totemclan called, their voices mingling in the evening air. the tom in question looked shocked - no cat would think he'd known about this change in rank beforehand, that was for certain. he dipped his head graciously towards baldstar, atop the totem. "thank you," he replied after clearing the bought of emotion from his throat. "i am honored."
ixxx▬viperfang, a few cats away, was pouting. a kit-like frown was plastered on his face, and as winesnap turned to him to remark on something-or-other, she saw his face and guffawed.
ixxx▬"what!?" viperfang snapped, scowling. "don't laugh at me."
ixxx▬"youuuuuu thought it was going to be youuuuuuu," she giggled, prodding him with a claw. "you're too brash. the clan would go up in flames in a day. if a fire could even start here, that is, with how wet is it." winesnap wrinkled her nose and harrumphed as she flicked a snowflake off of her ear.
ixxx▬viperfang puffed with annoyance. "yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right, i guess," he griped, sulking. he knew she was right, though. he'd never really wanted to be a leader, but to say he was deputy was a pretty neat brag. oh, well.
ixxx▬–—
ixxx▬hemlockhide was the youngest warrior in totemclan by far. freshly out of his apprenticehood, and already on his own? how peculiar, sweetdrop mused from the entryway to the nursery where she sat delicately, tail tucked around her paws, watching the ongoings on the clan. vixenface was snoring softly in the den behind her, while mirra supervised her gaggle of kits in the camp clearing, watching as they swatted at reflections in the stream and giggled about how cold the water was.
ixxx▬sweetdrop and vixenface had moved into the nursery at the same time, and sweetdrop knew that baldstar had a litter of kits coming for her to nurse, too. she hoped with everything in her that all three litters would arrive into this frozen world safely. mirra, with her penchant for diverting crises with soothing words, and fignewt, with his attitude and his herbs, could only do so much about nature itself.
ixxx▬despite her fretting, joy coursed through sweetdrop; she was getting the large family she'd always wanted, that was for sure. and she had heard murmurs of chessclan cats, too, at the gathering - perhaps her first litter of kits had traveled to their fathers' clan when sweetdrop had lost them? she was determined to find them, but could not travel far with a snowy abyss to threaten her back to camp. a blizzard was coming, the clouds warned.
ixxx▬she cast her eyes back to mirra and the other molly's kits. mirra had practically raised sweetdrop, and motherhood was in her nature. sourkit, with his constant self-grooming and constant challenges to the other kits, was pouncing on a snowball, sneezing when it poof!ed in his face. tempestkit was laying next to mirra, grooming the top of mirra's bowed head for her to reach. yumakit was creeping up on an unsuspecting ficusfrown's tail.
ixxx▬sweetdrop smiled gently, gave her tummy a couple of licks, and padded back into the den to take another well-deserved nap.

Rose was laid sprawled out on a rock warmed by the sun. She had already gotten in a meal early in the morning, now there was really nothing much to do besides relax and try to enjoy the small things despite the cold chill in the air. She could always feel the pang of loneliness since her mother had passed. Growing up, she was used to meeting up with other strange cats, her mother being very knowledgeable in herbs so she acted as a close-by healer for small illnesses for birthing mothers. Rose, not having any siblings, had always followed along with her mother closely and had learned a thing or two. Just now, she was sitting in the clearing close to the raspberry bush that her mother had claimed to plant way before she was born.
((she'll catch pebble messing with her raspberry bush and claim that her mother will "curse" him- i must sleep now x.x))

berlioz only in refuge for 1 moon. he is renamed persian due to the similarities in his personality to the feline pokemon. he is known for occasionally being spiteful and frequently changing his mind about things. he tends to do things on his own schedule without paying heed to others opinions. he knows how to stay composed (for the most part) in tense situations and is good at putting on a face of indifference, when in reality he may care very much deep down. he will never be one to admit it, but he adores being praised and adored by others, although he may not seem like it.

henry was in the refuge for 8 moons so leaving is hard for him. he is renamed cinderace due to his fighting spirit. he can be a bit emotionally distant at first, but once you gain his trust he becomes more carefree and energetic. he has the tendency to stick up for others, even if he doesn't know them, because he doesn't believe anyone should be treated poorly for any reason. anyone that he sticks up for becomes like a younger sibling that he takes under his wing.

Songbird is still the talk of the moon. It angers Bacup and what’s worse, he doesn’t know whether he’s more angry by the bad things they say about him or the good things.

Amber’s exhausted after the last moons of hard work and takes a break to spend time with her family.

Fogpaw takes a break from training and spends the moon with her brother in the medicine den. Losing her mother and then her mentor is too much for her.

Whetley and Bacup grow closer. The latter is heartbroken and in need of a companion after losing Songbird. Whetley is there for him to encourage him and shield him from uncomfortable questionings the rest of the clan.

Shark breaks up with Gentleman. He confines into his closest friends that he’s afraid of the persian cat. After having his camp burned down he seems to be going mad. He’s refusing to leave the scorched lands and started talking to himself.

Swoop of a Snow Owl is the only one who knows that the three kits who just became apprentices are children of Songbird. When they arrived at the clan the tom left them with her saying they were orphans. But she suspected from the start that they were his. Outside relationships are forbidden in the clan and he already had a bad rapport with Northstar so he decided to lie rather than face the consequences, which most likely would have included him being killed and Song expelled from the clan. Whether he did it for them or himself was unclear. Her suspicions only deepened when he kept visiting them at the nursery and took an especial liking to Wildkit. When he left the kits with her he told her what he would like to name them. Back then she thought the names were just something nice he came up with. Now she understood. He was a twisted cat even back then… Owl considers telling the kits about their father, but decides against it. They’re too young and it’s too soon after Song’s death. But one day she will have to. They deserve to know.

Azul blinked his eyes clear of sleep. It's dark as could be outside. Most of the others were out or bathing in the light of a rare moon sighting.
"Wha.. Who? No, no I was asleep."
Lacuna darted his eyes around, then at the ground in front of him where his shadow was crisply outlined. He proceeded into the den dugout.
"The shadows. They disappear sometimes, even when the moon is out."
"I don't think that's anything to be--" Azul started. Lacuna spun around with his fur jagged.
"LOOK. I know you think I'm a brainless furball afraid of a snapped twig, but take me seriously for once!" The blue tom sat up, staring quietly, before bowing his head.
"I apologize. Why are you worried?"
The tiny cat looked a little surprised he was being listened to. Fur smoothing, he cleared his throat and sat down as well.
"I've watched my shadow up and walk away."
"Walk away?"
"Yes, walk away. It runs off into the grass and I don't know how to track it. I've been watching and-" He checked his shadow again. "I've seen yours too, and others. Sometimes, they follow us around. It's like they're listening to us." Azul thought about this, his short fur bristling like frost.
"We need to find out how to keep up with them. We stick together, yea?... Should we tell The Hither?" The two looked out to where the three Hither cats were sharing tongues before a meal. Lacuna chuffed,
"Until we know what's going on... I don't think we should." Azul let out a sigh. Not telling would be better for Bridges, and the others. For now.
"Hm... Alright."
