i got discharged from the hospital in january- i'd say my greatest achievement was recovery, especially since it took many months and got hospitalized at such an inconvienent time- even though i had to spent my birthday and Christmas out of state, which was really hard, i kept going?? so yeah that

^ i agree! music is about the way it makes you feel. though some people really value lyrics above sound, but that doesn't make it okay to write off foreign music forever.

learning russian is... a challenge. thank goodness my dad is a native speaker so i can ask him questions all the time because by god,, i think i would scream if i could only relied on the internet's sources lol. sometimes you need a more... "human" approach

• hmm my hometown is not a friendly place. it's very distant, like it's trying to hard to be a major city even though it's a smaller town in the middle of nowhere. our downtown area is filled with bums and drunks. the good areas are few and far in between, but allow me to summarize them for you.
  there's the library. it's huge and wonderful. the whole place smells of books, and the staff are all incredibly dedicated to their jobs. before the global pandemic, i would often walk to the library just to spend time there.
  this isn't exactly in the downtown area, but i consider it to be a significant part of town. it's a small bookstore that i've been going to for years. i think there's even a few other locations in my area. it's the best place to buy books that i know of, and their movie selection is nice as well. the staff aren't friendly, but honestly, that's preferable when i'm browsing for my next read.
  next, there is a little coffee shop in the middle of downtown. it has a homey atmosphere, like an indie library, if you will. each room has it's own theme, all eclectic yet somehow completely different. in one room, there are several paintings by local artists hanging around the shop. in another, there is a small book store. in yet another, there is a little shelf for displaying magazines made by patrons. imagine a free-spirited aunt turned into a coffee shop, and you've got this place. i'm not much into coffee, but the muffins are simply fantastic.
  a park is by the coffee shop. a small creek runs through it, and many people like to sit under a bridge when it is incredibly sunny. at the beginning of the park there is a sort of amphitheater for yoga instructors. sometimes, if no one is around, i like to pretend i am teaching my own class. this park is great for reading and hanging out with friends.
  finally, there's a retro arcade i enjoy to go to from time to time. it has classic games, newer games, and not too many people. they've changed how you pay recently, so i've stopped going as often, but it makes me happy when i do.

The environment. Seeing how every little thing helps in its own unique way, how every plant, animal, and microorganism has a vital role, and just how unique every forest, sea, and biome is makes me just squirm with pure, unadulterated happy.

Probably the mushroom soup that my family makes for Christmas. It's from a recipe my grandfather used so it reminds me of him.
