Round Three
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The villagers dragged
Riverspell by her hair to the centre of the village where they had set up a noose, none wanted to experience the blood spattering which had occurred the night before. The led her up to the noose standing her on a chair taken from her house. The villagers watched in silence as the noose was put around her neck. With one kick The Owl took the chair out from under her. Her eyes bulged and her fingers scrabbled uselessly at her neck but she couldn't get the noose off, slowly her neck and cheeks turned purple. Still she scrabbled at the noose and few wanted to watch for longer, one by one they left but still she struggled alive, but dying, dying very slowly.
Night fell and as the moon rose the villagers heard a quick terrified scream from the village square, someone had stayed to long watching Riverspell and now they had payed the price. They all thought it must have been a quick death and were relieved if still slightly frightened, in the morning they were proved wrong.
They crept into the village square trying hard not to look at the hanging body and instead walked over to the crumpled body underneath. They were shocked though to find it was Riverspell dead now with a face as purple as a plum. They looked up in horror then at the hanging body. It was torn with chunks missing from the legs and the arms and intestines falling out from the missing section of stomach. They looked up to the purple face of
The Owl and realised in horror that she had been eaten alive while hanging, the look on her face was proof of that.
They looked around for the message the wolf always seemed to leave and saw it on the compressed dirt of the main street written in its usual 'ink'. It read, "I'm getting full, but this is fun."
