How to play:
The game is pretty much in the title, but in case you're still confused, look below:
When you pop on over for some character rating, look at the post before yours which should include some of their characters.
Read it over and give each one a rating out of 10. If you really like the character, feel free to saw something like 100000000/10.
Once finished, put down your own characters, post it, and wait for yours to be rated c:
Rules:
1. You must post a description of the character/s, otherwise your rater will be left with nothing but the name!
2. Please don't call people out for having names such as 'Glow' or having violet/red/pink eyes as people do make their own races. If they don't mention it, you could say: if you're trying for a realistic environment try giving them researched albinism or changing their eye color' not 'violet are impossible without albinism1!!!!!! 0/10!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!one!!!! (Okay that was severely exaggerated but you get the point, right?)
3. 1-3 characters, please.
4. Please no fan-characters. This will limit who rates it, even with a popular series like Divergent, The Hunger Games, or Harry Potter. There are threads for that elsewhere, even if they're not on CS. However, I will allow demigods as they don't strictly belong to a fandom and most people can rate them.
Tips:
1. Please be gentle with naming characters 'mary/gary sues' they're not putting every trait of their character here and may have not shared their downs. here are good and bad examples of a mary/gary sue warning:
Good:
The character seems to have mary-sueish qualities, so you may want to tone them down.
Beautiful? Sure! But unless it isn't so for your fantasy race, no one is flawless. Give them some!
Skilled at lots of things? Sure! I can do lots of things well, but there are things that I can't do well, either!
What is she bad at? Even if she doesn't know it yet, it's best to plan these things ahead of time so that you know all the inner workings of your character.
Note: If she does have physical flaws and such, it's best to mention them or people may get the wrong message.
Bad:
OMG! They're a mary-sue! They're beautiful and you didn't mention any anti-skills! MARY SUE!
2. It's extremely unlikely for someone to be named Wolf and be able to turn into a wolf. Try to avoid that.
3. Stuck on flaws for your character? Look at their positive traits. Loyal? How about deathly loyal? Stands up for what's right? Maybe they won't take a stand if they don't care, right or wrong by common standards. Or maybe they'll stand up to anything, even if it's against a giant, in which case it would be better to bail.
