"I found the kitten in the alleyway. He was very hungry." Celine said while bouncing on the trampolines. Since she had no available hands she blew a strand of blue hair out of her eyes.
Still holding onto Celine's hand, Noire carefully managed to have both him and Celine jumping high up as he flailed his legs a little, catching himself before his feet met the next trampoline.
"Huh, that must have been sad then." Noire commented, before debating on telling Celine the truth. Deciding it would be wise to merely hint at it--a very Blanc-esque move, in his mind--
"I...uh, don't get along with cats very well. I've been scratched by a few as a little boy while I wandered away from home." Noire admitted quietly, proceeding to appear rather different from his usual upbeat self.
"So I was surprised to see you bring a kitten home. /Not/ that I mind, of course! I mean, as long as you're happy then I'm happy too." He offered her a bright grin, to hide the envy inside. It was discomforting, and food was really the only cure for it.
Rouge shook her head, seeming a little surprised by the sudden hostility. She felt a little flutter of butterflies in her stomach, being touched by the gesture before letting out a little giggle.
"Oh, no, Verna, it's perfectly alright." She said, brushing Xavier's hand aside. The plant grew tense as Xavier smacked it into a dose of fright, she stroked it, attempting to soothe the poor thing. Instantly the vine relaxed and detached
"The flower is /supposed/ to bite me and have me coax it off without its teeth, which are used in the potion here. But thank you for coming to defend me on my behalf." She flashed him a kind smile, before proceeding to pluck the teeth from off her sleeve.
"Who knew a tough guy like you could be such a sap. Ash's pretty lucky." She said pleasantly, though there was a teasing smirk on her face. "Have any daydreams lately?" She teased playfully, ignoring the stab in her heart as she wiggled her eyebrows.
"That makes no sense whatsoever!" Xavier huffed, glaring at the flower. "Why can't you just reach into it's mouth and yank out the teeth and put that in the potion?"
He chuckled. "You know all my daydreams missy." And he sighed again.
