THE MAFIA GAME

I've been seeing a few go around here on Chickensmoothie and even participated or hosted on other sites, but they lack luster. I'm going to attempt to host another one and hope its just as fun as I remember. Please be patient with me as I do have a real life outside of CS. I'll try my best to be active and provide a fun game.

What is it?
The Mafia Game, also known as the Werewolf Game, is a mystery murder role playing party game for about 15 to 20 people. Most will be innocent bystanders stuck in the middle of it all while a small select few are hidden within them. They select someone to take the life of overnight and they next day everyone tries to put two and two together. The village can win or the Mafia/Werewolf can win. Whose side will you be fighting for?

How do you play?
In most games you have one (werewolf) or more (mafia) people selected at random to be the killers. The rest are normal innocents and everyone can vote once during a day (or day phase) on who they think is killing everyone else. Some games don't have special villager roles but I like to make it more interesting for both sides. I'll explain those further down. All you need to know is that if you're the killer that you can not let anyone else know, you want to convince the other townsfolk that someone else is guilty at all costs. If you are mafia and you have one or more others with you then you can converse over PM who you think is the most dangerous or least useful of townsfolk to dispose of. After that, the night phase occurs and a small caption will be put together stating who was or was not killed and who was voted to be lynched. Then rinse and repeat until only mafia are left or the village can sniff them out. Neutral roles can win if they are the sole survivor but this is rare. Green roles are for the town, the grey are neutral.

Depending on how many people we get to play will depend on the amount for each role I'll be able to have in the game when it starts. So convince your friends, the more the merrier! A random number generator will be used to pick who gets what.

9 people: 3 mafia available to play and start up the game with no extras on the townsfolk side.
11 people: detective added to the townsfolk side.
13 people: 4 mafia available to play doctor added to the townsfolk side.
15 people: 5 mafia available to play witch/warlock added to a neutral side.
17 people: trickster added to a neutral side.
19 people: 6 mafia available to play bomb maker added to the townsfolk side.
21+ people: 7 mafia available to play and vigilante added to the townsfolk side.

Mafia should always be = 1/3 of total population.

Special Citizens Guide
Never reveal to anybody who you really are. You risk being targeted by mafia if you do so. Do so at your own risk!!
Detective: Once a night they can investigate anybody to see who they are, wither it be a normal powerless innocent or mafia member.
Doctor: Once a night they can heal someone, be it themselves or someone else. But never in consecutive nights. (two nights in a row.) This prevents them from dying during the night phase.
Witch/Warlock: use magic once a night on someone that effects them for the next round. Targets may be completely silenced and unable to post and vote or be cursed to have to post a specific way and die or burst into flames otherwise. Get creative but don't abuse this power.
Trickster: Once every night phase they can pick someone and block their powers (if they have any) until next night phase. This can be used consecutively and if the leader of the mafia (who sends the pms) is chosen then no one dies unless another member from the mafia throws a new vote before that night phase. If targeted by anyone else's special powers (good or bad) at night the other person will die instantly. Meaning they can only be killed by being voted off during a day phase.
Bomb Maker: The bomb maker has a controller on his person connected to a bomb placed on someone else secretly which can change each night phase. When they die they reveal who that person is and the bomb goes off and kills them along with the bomb maker if voted off during the day. Nothing happens if they are killed at night.
Vigilante: The vigilante has up to three arrows to shoot off at night at whoever they desire. This could be to keep the mafia from killing them off or in case who they didn't pick doesn't get lynched. If this is swapped arrows don't replenish. Once all arrows are used up then the vigilante becomes a normal powerless villager.

Rules
1. Be nice and respectful to each other.
2. No telling everyone who you are. (Well you can but I don't recommend it.)
3. Inactive (7 days) members will become missing persons, cut from the game and presumed dead.
4. Day phases will be a week long or until everyone has voted to lynch.
5. All use of powers shall be PMed to the host to be used for the night phase.
6. Any powers not sent by pm by the end of the day phase (including the mafia spokesperson) will be skipped for that round.
7. Mafia members should choose a spokesperson to place the vote on who they kill off on the night phase.
8. Talk, debate and discuss theories, work together and have fun with it!
9. You may recast or change votes as long as the round hasn't ended.
10. It helps if you roleplay your posts, be it a sentence or a paragraph with your character's image and name in it.

Summer event pet, but it can have the items if you want! (It was the first theme I could think of, but if you can come up with another one before anybody else joins, I'd be more than happy to change it!)
