Just a little fun for when you have time to kill

Can You? (writing situation practice game)

The rules are pretty simple. I stole the idea from Stephen King's book Misery.

We have a character named Careless Carl. The first person gives a situation that our friend Careless has gotten himself into and ends it with " Can you? " The next person to post has to give how our friend Careless Carl escapes. Then creates a new situation for the next poster.

THE BIGGEST AND MOST IMPORTANT RULE IS THAT THE SITUATION MUST BE FAIR. MAYBE NOT REALIST, BUT FAIR.

For example, say one person sets up a scenario in which Careless has found himself to be on a crashing plane.
The next person may explain that Careless reaches under the seat to discover a parachute and uses.

This scene is fair, but not exactly realistic.

Now say that the next scenario lands Careless into a pit of quicksand, with a group of panthers circling him.
The next post explains that a large vulture swoops down and pulls him out of the quicksand.

This scene is unfair and therefore the next person would have to resolve both the unfinished scene and the new one.

anyways, happy blogging!:)

Careless Drove his motorcycle down the windy and now wet street as the rain poured down over his head, soaking his clothing and skin. The sun was beginning to set and it was becoming harder to see. A gentle pull on the handle breaks was meant to slow the bike down, but the rivers of water underneath his tires caused him to hydroplane and he was sent off the rode where he rolled down into the ditch and into a small river of water. His leg hurt unimaginably and he couldn't put pressure on it.
