Primrosegaze lay in her den, groaning with boredom. Being the cat she is, boredom was her only weakness. She sniffled, but she couldn't scent her apprentice, Dawnpaw. Her tail flicked back and forth before stretching her stubby limbs and padding out of the den. When she left the den, she could then smell her little apprentice's trail. Why did it lead to the entrance? Did she leave camp? Dawnpaw was pretty obedient, since Primrosegaze often unintentionally scares young cats with her attitude, and an apprentice wouldn't want to get on her bad side. Without believing in StarClan, she could care less about the warrior code, really. She wouldn't be bothered to hurt a cat if she felt the need to. Shaking her head, Primrosegaze stopped thinking and looked down at the grass. She shuffled through and found very very light tracings of pawprints. Aha! The little bugger had left the den! The tracings were not fresh, seemed they were from a while ago. This meant she left at night. How mousebrained is that, leaving without her mentor? At night, to make the situation worse! She thought after a low growl escaped her petite muzzle. Padding off, the tiny molly sniffed around the ground and the air to look for more clues. A whiff of deathberries flew into her nose. It was obvious, now. Continuing forward, Primrosegaze found the body. Alright, now which mangy little good-for-nothing unwanted by the world worth-none-but-crowfood pile of foxdung-smelling KITTYPET ended this young apprentices life? The medicine cat stared at Dawnpaw's jaw, full of deathberry juice. Shaking her head again, she picked up the body, almost unable to support her weight, being such a minuscule and weak cat, she slowly carried the body back to camp and dumped it near the entrance, panting recklessly. Unable to carry the body any farther, Primrosegaze flopped down into a sitting position as her bright green eyes burned into the apprentice's dirty fur. Tears welled up in her eyes as it was reality, her own apprentice had died. Staring up at the sky, she narrowed her eyes at the vast blue sky above. She then squinted and yowled that the whole clan could hear, "Dawnpaw is dead!"
