Dásos
Once upon a time, there was a great Forest Dragon named Dásos. Dásos was the most powerful of all dragons, wielding magic unparalleled by any other. Like it was with all dragons, the allure of gold was too strong for him to resist. He hoarded it in great quantities, amassing mountainous piles of gold coins and jewelry in his cave. But it was not enough. Dásos needed more gold. But not just any gold. He only wanted gold coins and gold jewelry the he could wear. Tail-rings, horn-earrings, necklaces... If it was gold and he wanted it, he got it. Near the end of the medieval era, magic began to run thin. Dásos and the other dragons, like all magical creatures, could feel the lack of power in the air, and went into hibernation until a time of new magic. But Dásos, even in his sleep, grew impatient. He awoke before much magic had returned to the world, during the modern times. The world had changed much since he had fallen asleep, and the gold that was once currency was now mostly ancient artifacts or jewelry. Dásos needed to collect as much gold as he could before too many other dragons awoke, but even a dragon could not collect it all on his own. So he formed a brilliant plan. He would gather volunteers, animals with some magic in them, to go and collect gold for him, and whatever they found that he did not want, they could keep as payment. And so his quest for gold began...
This is a Choose Your Own Adventure game of sorts, but with a twist (or three). I decided I needed something to write on a regular basis, and I have a ton of extra items and pets, so... here we are! You can enter one of your pets in each round and, once the round is full, I will write the first part of the story. At the end of it, everyone's pets will have to decide which of the given options they want to choose. You will have 24 hours to choose. If you fail to choose three times or twice in a row, your pet will die in the game. Eventually your pet will either die, hit a dead end, or win an item or pet. Chances are, they'll probably win an item. In order to enter a round, all you need to do is post a link to your pet and the pet's name and gender. And, of course, read the rules...
- Do not RP here, just tell me what your pet wants to do and I will write what happens
- Please do not ask to join when a round is in progress
- Water-dwelling pets are not allowed because the adventure takes place on land
- You can only enter one pet per round
- You can enter a pet in multiple rounds, even if it has died before
- Once your pet dies, hits a dead end, or finds a reward, the round is over for your pet
- Failing to choose what to do three times or twice in a row will get your pet killed
- You can only choose between the choices I give you
- Do not whine or complain
- Do not harrass anyone
- The pet you enter must belong to you and have a name and gender
- You must include a link to the pet you are entering
- Only ten pets per round
- Chat/spam/discussions belong in the fanclub, not this game thread
Now, what's this twist part of the game? A cast of very powerful characters who will show up from time to time and possibly alter the game. Dásos is one of these characters, obviously. There will be an ongoing plot (aside from Dásos' gold quest) throughout all the rounds, and perhaps someday we will see its conclusion. There is a list of profiles of the characters two posts down. You don't need to look at them, but it'll give you an idea of what they might do. (and it's fun!)
