musk oxen. though they seem insignificant and boring, a dull brown and just grazing all day i find them fascinating. i could watch them for hours. at my local zoo there is about a very large, vast plain with a large lake in the middle, and to get to the exhibit you must climb a tall hill, but once you stand up at the top and overlook this plain and lake it is so worth it. the musk oxen graze and it's so quiet and peaceful. no one really goes to visit them because they're very out of the way, they don't even have a sign leading you to their exhibit and it's a very long walk, so i make it a point to visit them every time i visit the zoo. i love them so much, their shaggy coats and curvy horns and how they run. i've seen them knock trees over, and lie in the shade next to each other like a happy family. they are beautiful, underestimated creatures.
