Deep in the heart of Egypt, the Israelite slaves were working away. They worked day after day, week after week, in the blazing sun with the wind violently whipping around them. They were miserable. They desperately longed for the land God had promised them. In the 400th year, God sent a man, a deliverer -- a meek, humble man named Moses. He was chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses was sent to the Pharaoh and demanded the freedom of the slaves. The Ppharaoh, who was very ruthless, refused. God then sent ten devastating plagues upon Egypt to prove to the pharaoh that Moses was sent by Him. The last plague took the life of the Pharaoh’s son. Hesitantly, the Pharaoh agreed to let the slaves free. Moses then led the Israelites out of Egypt and to their freedom in the land God had promised them. This land was Canaan.
