I sighed, trying to calm myself. I opened my river blue eyes and looked at them. My heart was thudding. I looked around, slowing my pulse. Just stay calm... You know it wasn't you... I told myself. "I'm sorry!" I mewed to all of them, "I just... Sometimes, I can't control myself... With what happened to me as a kit, I just accuse others without really thinking! I just go a little...." I paused. I sat there, looking around at the crowed scents and sounds, "A little crazy..." I mewed finally. "Byt trust me, that's something you can do, is trust me. I didn't kill anyone. Hailflower's right. I was sitting next to her the entire time" I paused. Letting them think. "Besides.... How could I do it? I'm blind, I was sitting next to Hailflower, and the scent on Spiderpaw's pelt seemed to be a she cat..."

Hailflower's stiff and defencive appearance seemed to loosen up slightly at the sight of the fright. "Why would I allow one of my clanmates to murder another?" She asked with a tilt of her head. "I have been treating your wounds and illnesses since you were all kits. If I wanted such terrible things, I could have just let you all die during those times of hardship." The she-cat sighed. "I honestly don't know what to believe anymore, but I defend Rivershade. As far I know, he was with me.. And you all are quick to accuse. You are as much as a suspect to us as we are to you."

I nodded in agreement. I sighed. "Wise words." I mewed flatly to Hailflower.

The clan silently carried Scarstar's body back to camp, with crestfallen faces. They gathered around the body and payed their respects for the fallen leader. But, breaking the silence, a yowl was heard in the crowd. She cringed and hurried away from the body as if a bomb had been planted between them. Two bodies were on the ground now. Of course Scarstar's, but now Spiderpaw has been added. Spider was dead.

The medicine cat's tail curled around her paws. "I know, Speckledpaw. And then you should also know to trust me when I say that I believe this cat is innocent. I huffed. "Very true..." I nodded in agreement with Hailflower. But at the same time, I hated the very fact that she'd mentioned my blindness. I never had but, if I wanted to, I could have the skill enough to kill. "And, Speckledpaw... We have are reasons to suspect you... Even if you promise you didn't do it." Would I have to list the facts? I looked at Speckledpaw's scent. I harsh sadness radiated from her pelt. I'd have to go soft, wouldn't I? "Well.... You freaked out the moment you were accused in the first murder. Then you kill your friend. You didn't want Spiderpaw to know, because he would hate you afterwards. So... Why not just kill him, so Spiderpaw wouldn't have to know?" I inquiried the apprentice in a smooth tone. My frozen pupils laying over her pelt.
