note; i am a semi-traditional namer! i tend to follow the traditional naming system as best i can, with prefixes exclusively describing the appearance and suffixes describing skills or traits, but at times i might end up using non-traditional prefixes or suffixes (such as echo-, -wing, -flight, -song, etc) for various reasons c:

feathertail - 4/10. im a sucker for the feather- prefix, despite it technically not being traditional, and there's also a reason behind the prefix so thats also a nice touch. c: despite that, i feel like it might be better to use a different, white-related prefix but that's just me. im not too keen on the suffix, primarily because not many skills or traits were listed.

    my names
frostleaf - a small, fluffy, white-furred tom with blue eyes. frostleaf is a medicine cat, quite a skilled one at that and practically devotes all of his time, even the free-time he might have, to tending to the herbs or gathering herbs or really doing anything regarding his medicine cat duties.
she told me she worked in the morning,
and started to laugh
i told her i didn't,
and crawled off to sleep in the bath

Ratings:

Frostleaf - I say 10/10 :) I can't think of any reason it doesn't fit and it sounds nice and has reasoning.

Mine:

Nightclaw - Mysterious black tom with emerald green eyes. He gained his prefix because of his pelt color and earned his suffix because he is a excellent fighter.
Dawncloud - Dark ginger she cat with long silky fur and white patches and pale green eyes. She got her prefix from her pelt color and her suffix from her kind and loving personality as she also loves kits and is a excellent mother.
Silvernose - Silver she-cat with dark tabby stripes and dark blue eyes. She earned her prefix in honor of her half sister who died honorably at a young age and shared a resemblance to her. She gained her suffix from the fact that she is both a good hunter and has a knack for scenting.

Hello there, everyone! I am a semi-tradition namer, I normally use traditional prefixes and suffixes, but will occasionally sheen away from the methods. Ex: Sometimes I'll use -blaze or Wolf- but very rarely ones like Soft- or Sweet- I will not rate traditionally if the name is non-traditionalThis is a really nice purple!!

Name Rates

Swanface, 10/10, His name fits perfectly and he seems like a very interesting and well-balanced character. I'd either love him or hate him, depending on how he was written out.

Rowanfoot, A dark ginger tom with hazel eyes. He is clever and fast, as well as a little sarcastic. He sometimes embarrasses the leader, deputy, and medicine cat, as he knew them when they were young. He is starting to lose his sight, and will be retiring to the elders’ den soon.
Rowan- for his dark ginger pelt, -foot for his speed
Traditional

Cootflower, A small black and white molly with green eyes. She is a bit of a prankster, and only became a warrior recently. She is a little naïve and looks up to… literally everyone. She is easily impressed. She is very nurturing and loves kits. She treats the entire clan like they’re her kits.
Coot- for her black and white pelt, -flower for her nurturing skills.
Traditional
(Note- Please don't rant on the fact that she's a stereotypical queen/mother figure. I have plenty of non-cliché ones, and cliché is not synonymous with 'doesn't happen in the real world' thank you!)

Tinyfoot, A small grey tom with copper eyes. He has a white muzzle, tailtip, chest and paws. He is very fast but hates his size, not realizing that it makes him faster. He can chase down prey but often finds himself leaping over the prey, so he tries to lead it into his partners paws.
Tiny- for his size, -foot for his speed.
Traditional

Important! Please read if you know genetics! These cats are from a fanfiction, and I want to maintain a sense of realism, so if there is anything wrong with the genetics, PLEASE tell me! Ex: Torties are hardly ever male, and if they are, they usually have 'problems' that could interfere with clan life, same with calicos, ect.

Also, if any of the descriptions are a little awkward, that is because they are taken from my fanfiction, some were loners and rogues and have been edited to receive a clan name

Ivystorm: 8/10 great name but a little like Ivypool, it would be common to have Ivy as the start
Sorrelfang: 10/10 Awesome backstory as well..
Duckstep: 5/10 A good start with duck, but unless she has something in the past Duckstep seems goofy to me.

My names:
Tawnyflame- fierce she-cat with scar on left eye and torn ears. Black underbelly, and brown/ginger tabby markings on top.
Badgerscorch- She-cat with markings of a badger, other than red part around her eyes.

I like the appreance over all, however you missed the eye color. The black underbelly throws me off a bit as well.

Badgerscorch- She-cat with markings of a badger, other than red part around her eyes.
5/10
The specifications on the markings are little and the red around her eyes are just plain out unrealistic. I suggest making the red a dark reddish brown and have a few more reddish brown markings on her. Also make it more clear on how exactly she looks like a badger. Eye color is missing.

Ivystorm, 10/10, I'm a sucker for Ivy names, and it fits perfectly. She sounds like an interesting character, and I personally love rude chaacters, because I either find the bits of dry wit to be hilarious, or I just like hating characters.
Also, I've used the idea of snappy and critical, but it makes her apprentices strong thing before, and they're fun to write.

Sorrelfang, 10/10, Aaah so many interesting characters! I love these types of characters, and I also like how you've justified his dislike of non-clanners, I find that in a lot of stories they hate non-clanners for no reason and receive tons of hate when they're supposed to be sympathetic.. You've done it well, and I think many others would find him sympathetic too.

Duckstep, 10/10, Awkward kitties are great ^^ -step fits her, and -step is hard to pull off. The clumsy on land thing seems very plausible, as I myself am not fast on land, but fast in the water.

Aldertail, a dark brown tabby molly with green eyes. She can jump and climb well, and finds it easy to catch birds. She is stubborn and refuses to sleep. Every. Single. Night.
Alder- for her pelt, -ail for her agility and climbing ability.

Weaselnose, a brown tom with a creamy underbelly and green eyes. He is good at sneaking around and tracking, but is quite clumsy and finds it hard to hunt.
Weasel- for his brown pelt and cream belly, -nose for his tracking ability.

Duskflower, A dark grey molly with copper eyes. She enjoys playing with the kits in her clan, and is easily excited. She relates to Smokepaw, finding it easy to find a cat closer to her age to play moss ball games with. She is slightly kit-ish, and is considered to be good-looking among her clan.
Dusk- for her dark grey pelt, -flower for her nurturing skills.

Hi there, raters! I am a traditional rater and rate the traditional way with my names. I do struggle sometimes. Also, I use different cats each post i make on this thread. I use the help of these; Prefixes, and suffixes. Thank you.

Orchidflower - 10||ten love it!

Clouded-eye - 8.4||ten At first I was unsure about this name, but I did some extra searching. Nice name-change!

traditional name(s);;

Dapplewhisker - Dapplewhisker is a tortoiseshell she-cat with copper eyes. She's one of the best hunters in RiverClan. She was formerly a ThunderClan cat, but was exiled for having kits with a tom in RiverClan. Her option was of course: RiverClan. They gladly accepted her, and she easily learned how to fish, and sometimes uses her SkyClan descendants as an advantage to catch birds overhead. She's the best hunter in RiverClan, proving that ThunderClan had a great loss.
PIC FOR BETTER DESCRIPTION;; xxx

dapple - tortoiseshell pelt.

whisker - advanced hunting skills

Quailstream - Quailstream was born in RiverClan. He's a brown tabby with white paws and underbelly, along with green-yellow eyes. He's an excelled swimmer, learning from his father. He's almost drowned several times, but always made it alive.
PIC FOR BETTER DESCRIPTION;; xxx

quail - brown tabby appearance

stream - advanced swimming skills

non-traditional name(s);;

Mosswhisper - Mosswhisper is an elder of WindClan. She has a light gray pelt and green eyes. She's known for her soft voice, never speaking up about things and you'll probably need to ask her twice about what she'd said. Even as a cranky elder, her voice is calm and soothing to restless kits.

Don't remind me what I did wrong on Mosswhisper. I'm aware.

Quailstream is the RiverClan cat Dapplewhisker betrayed ThunderClan for.

Mosswhisper is Dapplewhisker's mother. She betrayed the warrior code and had to leave her in ThunderClan while she went to WindClan.

Dapplewhisker and Quailstream's kits are:
Cherrykit ♀, Lizardkit ♂, Emberkit ♂, and Stormkit ♂.

I rate any sort of name, traditional or not. I do not judge to quickly on meaning, but rather how the name sounds. I will be more thorough and detailed if ask to be.
╔══════════════╗
Rating
╚══════════════╝
Dapplewhisker
10/10
The name is lovely, along with the description and brief background. There is no complaints on this character.

Quailstream
9/10
The looks and brief background are well, the name just sets me off. I get why he was named it, it just will always sound odd to me.

Mosswhisper
10/10
Despite hating whisper in warrior names, it suits her well. With her looks to her personality, she's an over all well developed character.
╔══════════════╗
My Names
╚══════════════╝
(These are in no way related to the canon traditional names, so do not base them on that but instead of the meanings and how they sound/correlate with the looks. Thank you ^^
Littlechirp - looks
Little - Named after her small size alone
Chirp - Named after the high pitched squeaking sound she makes after each sentence, similar to a voice crack. After her clan mates started giving her the nick name 'Birdy', her leader named her Littlechirp. She was not bothered by it, thinking the name suited her just fine.
Pollen-nose - looks
Pollen- Named after the way her nose would constantly twitch during Green-leaf due to her allergies to pollen.
Nose - She never outgrew her allergies, so she was named Pollen-nose by her leader. The naming ceremony was taken place during the middle of Green-leaf, so she was constantly sneezing during it.

**note: i am a traditional namer, but i will be fair to non-traditional names based on meanings.

littlechirp: (8/10) makes sense and flows nicely.

pollennose: (2/10) i get what you had going, but why would a queen name her kit pollen- for the allergies, when she doesn't even know her kit has allergies yet? it's very very unlikely his allergies showed right away as a newborn, so did she wait until he grew up before even giving him a name? just doesn't make much sense to me... even for non-traditional naming. does sound okay though and i like that you gave him allergies.

my names:

pinestream: blue-grey she-cat with advanced swimming skills. she's a hard worker and very caring, but lets her emotions get the best of her and usually acts impulsively.

lightwhisker: white tom with one blue eye and one green eye. he is deaf in one ear,but even with that, he is a wonderful hunter. he's insecure and doesn't speak his mind, sort of a pushover, but he's also very wise, patient and observant.

Pinestream, 10/10, First off, I'm a sucker for the Pine- prefix. I also quite like the -stream suffix, as there is little representation of cats swimming T_T Cats really only dislike water when they're forced/slip in. They just don't swim alot.

Lightwhisker, 10/10, Good name,, and it suits him! It's getting tiring to see all these white cats with blue eyes who have perfect hearing ability, and it's refreshing to see one who is even half deaf.
(I wouldn't be so frustrated if it wasn't so popular, but not everyone sticks to realism.)

Slugflower, a small black molly with copper eyes. She is fiercely protective of… anyone. She makes sure to protect kits, apprentices, and other new queens. She is considered good looking within her clan, specifically by her mate, Tinyfoot.
Slug- size and pelt, -flower, nurturing skills
Traditional

Toadfur, a brown dappled molly with yellow eyes. She is clever and sarcastic, coming up with a witty retort before her opposition can say another insult. Her retorts are sometimes rude and belittling, but she finds it effective in battle.
Toad-, pelt, -fur no nameable skills or personality traits. (Does -storm fit her?)
Traditional

Laurelflower, a white molly with green eyes. She finds herbs to be completely repulsive and usually refuses to eat them, which once made her severely ailed with green-cough before she agreed to take herbs. Not wanting it to happen to her kits, she is stern with them and guides them on a path to listening to her superiors, and doing what they say.
Laurel-, white pelt, -flower, nurturing skills.
