Granted. It stops trying to hunt your rats and acts content around any other creature, so you start to give it more trust until you allow it to be around any creature you own, without being concerned. However, the cat is plotting against you - this was its plan all along (to gain your trust). It was planning to gain your trust until it was surrounded by tasty creatures then just have a mass assassination of all of them and a nice feast. But as you start to give more trust, you start to look more and more tasty to it until its revenge plan changes - now it is going to hunt you.

"No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be;
Am an attendant lord, one that will do
To swell a progress, start a scene or two,
Advise the prince; no doubt, an easy tool,
Deferential, glad to be of use,
Politic, cautious, and meticulous;
Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse;
At times, indeed, almost ridiculous—
Almost, at times, the Fool."
