~ The Grasslands ~Soul, Stripes, and Mekel had chosen to go the the grassy hills and meadows. They trudged on for hours.
"We should have chosen to go east!" Stripes groaned after hours of walking through the thick, long grass. "Or north! Even creepy forests are better than this!"
"This place never ends!" Soul complained.
"It's just endless hills of grass," Mekel said blankly. Finally the itchy, rouch, scratchy grass was replaced by soft, gentle waves of nice grass. But even this small change did not do much for the tired trio.
"Will we ever reach a path or something?" Soul asked, speaking to no one in particular. And it seemed that her wish was instantly granted. They came across a nice little path within minutes of Soul's wishful question. The trio were go glad to find a path that they nearly
danced all the way along the path until they reached another fork in the path.
There were two choices. They could take the west path, which led to barren hills that seemed to have been burned
very recently, judging by the smoky smell. Or there was the east path, which delightful aromas were coming from.
(Soul, Stripes, and Mekel have to choose between going west or east)~ The Forest ~The strange pair, a cat and a fox, had chosen to go north, into the thick forest. As they walked along the wide path, it got darker and darker. The trees seemed to grow closer together, forming a thick canopy of leaves that, in some places, completely blocked out the sun.
"Interesting place, eh?" Ice asked casually as he and Mummy walked briskly along the path.
"Yes, it is indeed," Mummy agreed easily. Though the two made quite the odd pair, they were both quite brave and made a very good team.
"I suppose we'll come across another fork sooner or later," Ice commented. He glanced at Mummy and smiled. "I expect you'll choose the path that seems less safe, eh?"
"Most likely," Mummy nodded. He paused for a moment, then asked, "Are you British or something? You keep sayings 'eh' and your accent sounds slightly British."
"My mother was British," Ice explained. "We hardly ever saw my father, so I just picked up her accent." Mummy nodded.
"Which path d'you think you'll choose?" he asked.
"Same as you - the less safe one," Ice grinned. "I like adventure as much as any courageous fox." The two chatted as they walked as soon came to a fork in the road, just as Ice had predicted. Both of the choices looked pretty "unsafe".
To the north-east there was a swampish fog rising from the muddy-looking ground. To the north-west, the path sloped steeply upwards and had snow along the edges, apparently leading to some snowy mountains.
"Both look pretty dangerous, eh?" Ice asked, grinning. Mummy nodded and surveyed his choices.
(Ice and Mummy have to choose between north-east or north-west)~ The Creek ~The rebel-like Bear had decided to split up from the rest of the group and go east, towards the stream-like sound. The quiet rushing soothed the big animal as he walked along peacefully, enjoying the gentle sound of water. He was practically sleep-walking when he heard a twig-snapping sound. His eyes shot open and he whirled around, only to find that he was the cause of the sound. He always realized that the stream had become a small river and seemed to be heading for a waterfall. He continued to follow the creek until he reached the waterfall. By this time the itsy-bitsy creek had become a large river pouring down into a roaring waterfall. Here Bear came upon two choices. He could follow the well-worn path to the north, which seemed to lead down into a tunnel or cave-like underground thing. Or he could continue east and follow the mostly-overgrown, rocky, perhaps dangerous path that led to the bottom of the waterfall.
(Bear has to choose between north and east)~ Back at the Crossroads ~Java, the timid little PPS puppy, had been too hesitant to choose her path. The others, after waiting patiently for half an hour, gave up and went on ahead without her. Too afraid to run after them after an hour of waiting for them to return for her, Java curled up beside the signpost in fright. Unable to fall asleep, the little puppy stayed there, staring ahead at the pathways.
(Java must choose between the three original path choices, found here. If her owner fails to vote for the second time, Java will be removed from the game)-----------------------------------------------------------
