Fall
During the fall, birthings will be difficult and the chances of mothers and children dying during birth will rise dramatically without the help of a skilled shaman. There is also a lessened chance of catching prey and gathering food or finding new people and skilled animals. The odds of sickness begin to rise.

Villages are advised to be more careful on patrols, as they're more likely to encounter predators looking for a safe place to hide. Despite this danger, children will be rejoicing as the leaves once again begin to change colors and fall, giving them plenty to play with. It may be prudent for established villages begin reaching out to neighboring territories and secure trading routes so that they'll last through the winter.

Isa gently cradled the tiny purple child, running one hand along the little one's horns,
while her own Lola studied the younger girl. While the birth should have been a
celebration, it seemed this year was marked with grief.

Athena had announced that, since the youngling had not been found, Tiana Hurley
was to be declared dead. Freya moved to the scouts housing, but Nina, the new scout
chief, had expressed doubt as to how the woman would fare, with her paralysis. Athena
had replied that the village would help her.

And then, just when things were going well, Kairi had gone into birth unexpectedly,
when Alex was above-water studying medicine with the landlocked villagers. There had
been some...complications. The child, a young daughter with purple skin and long
spiraling horns, had been born mostly healthy, but she seemed to be slow to respond
to noises on her left side. And Kairi...

Just as Freya before her, Kairi had experienced complications, and become paralyzed
on her lower half.

Alex was tending to Kairi now, trying to find a way to heal her, with his knowledge he
hadn't had when Tiana had been born. But deep down, Isa knew he wouldn't have any luck.
She thanked the gods of the sea that when Lola had been born, it had been without injury
to either of them. Not to mention Lola was still here.

They might never know what had become of Tiana, but Isa prayed that at the very least,
they would find her body so as to offer Freya, Kamryn, and Pike some closure for their daughter.

But speaking of Lola, Isa smiled at her daughter. Her little girl was growing up so fast, it was
already time for her to begin her period as a tester. The young fishkin was healthy, and ready
to begin the next stage of her life. What more could Isa ask for?

On the Sitrian Outpost, Senzo was sharpening their spear, and watching a certain pink-haired
robinkin. Unlike Senzo's nearly invisible gossamer wings, Kaydon had large gray and pink wings
sprouting from her shoulders. Senzo had been spending quite a bit of time with Kaydon over the
past year, and had finally decided to ask the pink-haired female if she would let Senzo begin
to court her.

Kaydon had agreed, and ever since the two had been making a sort of dance, spending time
together, giving each other small gifts, and enjoying the skies together.

They had been courting for three months, and now, Senzo was prepared to ask the woman a
very important question. Alex rarely came to the outpost, and the last they'd heard, one of
the pregnant women under the waters had gotten injured in her birthing. But if Kaydon was
willing, Senzo was ready to risk it, to give the woman they loved a marrage, and maybe, just
maybe, a child.

Fall
The sun emerges from the thick clouds, granting warm days reminiscent of summer! Villages enjoy the warmth, and take the time to spend soaking in the sun.But be wary, it seems almost too peaceful...like the calm before the storm.

darius managed to set up a snare trap for rabbits, however as he was waiting for an animal to get caught in it, something distracted him. he ran forward to try and see what it was, and ended up caught in his own snare. his leg was jerked rather badly, but it healed shortly after he was retrieved.

with some heavy training it is possible darius could become a hunter, but it may be wise to seek out other options.
