the babes take a few day to get used to being the clan. buzzardpaw always stay close to galepaw and galepaw is protective of him.

cobramask is paired with galepaw as she's a bit of a trouble maker. brookheart is paired with buzzardpaw as she will be more gentle with him. brookheart learns how much she likes being with younger cats.

Many Voices Crying Out As One

Raggedstar settled on the toppled-over log that was in the Squirrel's Grove, watching over the few Echoclan cats that had made their way there as well. Since the avalanche, Echoclan has been broken. Most of the cats had found their leader quickly, while some were still missing. Among the missing was Raggedstar's father, Redfeather, and his son Leechkit. Bramblingflight settled next to her mate, pressing against his flank. "Should I take another patrol to go find more cats?" She asked. Raggedstar didn't speak, only giving her a small nod before getting to his paws and stalking off. The queen watched her mate before gathering Mossvine and Pigeonnose to join her.

Mossvine strayed ahead of the other two warriors as they crossed the river, her tail dragging in the snow. "I'm sure we'll find Silverpaw." Bramblingflight mewed when her and Pigeonnose finally caught up. The white she-cat nodded slightly, slowing her pace to let Pigeonnose take the lead. "Let's check by the camp, maybe some more cats are staying nearby." Bramblingflight suggested. The trio skirted around the patch of trees that surrounded the training hollow, having already checked that area the day before.

Pigeonnose slowed his pace, narrowing his eyes as he tried to find signs of any cats having been there. The cream tom froze when he felt something under his paw that didn't quite break but definitely did bend. He looked down to see a dark red tail sticking out of the snow that was piled against a tree. "Guys!" He called to Bramblingflight and Mossvine, who had wandered in another direction. The two she-cats rushed over, both gasping at the tail. "Help me dig it out!" The three Echoclan cats began flinging away the snow, their breaths coming out in giant huffs.

Shortly after unearthing the source of the tail, they realized the cat wasn't the only one. Mossvine's mouth parted in a silent cry when she saw the familiar pelt of Silverpaw curled against the dark red tom, Redfeather. "Sparkfang!" Pigeonnose wailed, pressing against his dead sister's flank. The cream tom felt a few bundles curled between him and Sparkfang and looked down, immediately recognizing them as Waxkit, Leechkit and Pinekit. He quickly turned to face Bramblingflight. "You need to go." He mewed. Bramblingflight looked at Pigeonnose, a scared look forming in her eyes. She tried to push past him. "No, Bramblingflight. Please just go back to the others." He begged. The queen gave the tom a heavy push, finally making it past him.

"Leechkit!" The dark brown, ginger and white she-cat cried, scooping her son's body up. It seems like Echoclan will never get their peace.

Squirrelkit, Chubkit and Twigkit curled against each other. Chubkit and Twigkit were silently crying while Squirrelkit did her best to comfort her sisters, a dead look in her eyes. Raggedstar and Bramblingflight were curled around Leechkit's body, refusing to let the others bury the kit yet. "He's supposed to be an apprentice with us." Chubkit whimpered, pressing her pudgy body closer to Squirrelkit. "It's not fair."

"Nothing's fair, Chubkit." Squirrelkit whispered, all emotion in her voice gone. At the mention of their apprenticeship, Raggedstar got to his paws, sniffling as he returned to the toppled-over log. The ginger tom called a meeting, gesturing for Squirrelkit, Chubkit and Twigkit to join him.

"I don't know when we'll be able to return to our camp again, so it would be best to give you your apprentice names now." Raggedstar mewed. "I would like to give Leechkit his as well." The Echoclan cats murmured their agreement as Raggedstar continued the apprentice ceremony.

"Squirrelpaw! Chubpaw! Twigpaw! Leechpaw!"

Tigger's amber gaze opened as a cough racked his body. The tabby elder looked around, his eyes narrowing in confusion as he tried to figure out where he was. The former kittypet felt an odd sinking sensation in his stomach when he noticed a wall of white in front of him. A cold white wall. He tried to scramble to his paws only to fall back onto his flank. Tigger looked around the cave, seeing no way out. The elder looked back towards the wall of snow that was blocking him in.

How am I going to dig through that? He thought. I'm too weak... it's so cold... Tigger shivered, curling up tighter. He laid his head on his paws, staring at the snow that was keeping him from joining his clanmates. What if I can't get out?..... Why am I getting so tired?

Tigger didn't know how long he was in that cave. It felt like hours, but it could've been days or weeks or even a whole moon, if he was that unlucky. The elder was starting to give up hope on ever escaping as his bones started to stick out against his fur. Just as the tom was staring to fall into yet another sleep, he noticed a stream of light coming through. Tigger's head jolted up, his eyes widening when he saw the light was coming through a hole at the top of the snow wall. Someone's come to save me! He thought happily. The Echoclan elder tried to push himself into a sitting position, but was unable to do more than raise his head. The light blotted out for a moment as a cat entered through the small opening.

The elder narrowed his eyes as he tried to make out the cat. The cat was hard to see in the dim light, but their fur seemed to glow oddly, as if it was dotted with stars. The cat drew closer, their tail swishing. Their beautiful red tail.

"Rosie?" Tigger choked out before his eyes closed again.

badgerstep shot larkstorm an amused look over the pair of apprentices walking between them as swanclaw and whimbrelfoot argued loudly over naming a litter with a theme. the pretty ticked tabby covered her laughter at swanclaw's latest outburst - "get back here and say that to my face, you bloody coward!" - with a cough that sounded completely and utter fake. badgerstep grinned, flustered - and promptly tripped over a particularly large tree root hidden by the thick snow.

"i'm f-," she paused, tilting her head with a furrowed brow. she could have sworn ... and there, again, another barely audible but unmistakable hacking cough sounded from - beneath her paws? badgerstep turned to squint at the rough outline of the roots back towards the root of the trees. before she'd found mallowclan - or, more aptly, they'd found her - she'd made a nest in an old fox den at the bottom of a tree. "hello?"
"badgerstep?" larkstorm called. silence from the roots for a beat, two, and then another painful cough. before she could attempt to call out again, a dark furry mass barrelled out from beneath a small gap hidden just out of sight and she found herself on her back, staring up into the face of a snarling tortoiseshell, as her name was shouted by multiple members of her patrol. most of the instinctive fear of the sudden attack drained when the cat began a fresh coughing fit, body shuddering as the coughs wracked through them. with a wince as the tortoiseshell spluttered in her face - she wiggled out from the elderly cat and stepped back. panting, she studied the fast stranger. beneath a long and slightly matted pelt, their thinness was painfully obvious.
the cat growled, wary as their gaze flickered between her and the rest of the patrol who had formed a rough semicircle around them. "who are you?" they said, voice hoarse and rough. badgerstep thought she saw a spark of pain in their eyes as they spoke, but it was gone as quick as it came as they continued to scowl at her. "what do you want?"
"i'm, i'm badgerstep?"
"how should i bloody know?"
"badgerstep," she said stronger, just catching whimbrelfoot's murmur that the cat and swanclaw must be related. "and these my clanmates," she said, naming them in turn. the elder didn't seem any calmer at the introductions.
"come to run me out?"
"you sound sick," she said, shaking her head. "we can help."
"sure you can," the cat said, and promptly began to cough again.
"we can!" bramblingpaw said, taking a step forward before catching sight of badgerstep's warning look. "we have a healer! they know all about herbs and sickness."
"why'd you take in a sick cat, hmm? what'd be the point?"
"it's the right thing to do," bagerstep replied, thankful her voice was a lot stronger as she got her breath back. "to offer, at least, and not - not leave out here in the snow."
the cat was quiet for several long moments before they met her gaze, jaw tight. "i've got kits. little younger than you. one of them's expecting. i won't leave them, not know. will they be safe, in your - clan?"
"you have my word. swanclaw had her kittens in mallowclan," she said, nodding to the white molly.
swanclaw nodded to bramblingpaw. "one 'a mine. mallowclan's good."
"we'll see," the elder murmured. "lead the way, then."

Fawnfeather:
After giving birth to four kits, she tiredly smiles. Riverice sighs quietly and nuzzles the smallest kit towards her mother. From the look on his face, Fawnfeather guesses her youngest won't survive.

"I'll name her Lilykit for she will never lose purity. The grey tom will be Stormkit. His brother will be known as Thistlekit. And she will be Willowkit."

Riverice smiled before turning to leave the new mother to her kits. Fawnfeather's tail dropped onto Riverice's headquarters.

"Riverice? Can you tell Aurorastar that I'm worried about Lynxheart. Ever since Tigerflame joined, he's been kinda mean."

"Of course. I was wondering why Aurorastar would make him deputy. I'll bring you an extra piece of prey. Kits are going to be hungry."

The medicine cat smiled and trotted out of the den and grab some fresh-kill just as Lynxheart was passing by.

"Save some for the rest of us."
From his voice, he seemed to be joking but his cold stare said otherwise.

Riverice pointly turned away and walked into the nursery, before going to Aurorastar's den.

Riverice:
When he entered, he saw Lynxheart and Aurorastar talking about the new cat.

"Aurorastar? May I talk to you?" The tom asked before flicking his tail towards the deputy. "Alone."

Aurorastar nodded at Lynxheart who left with a small grumble.

"I received a prophecy. 'The Brightness of Dawn has been corrupted, and victory must be Scent from above.' Also, Fawnfeather asked me to talk to you about Lynxheart. She says he is being cruel."

Aurorastar:
"I know, maybe I'll ask him to step down. Not now though. With the prophecy, tell me if you receive anymore please. It didn't sound fun at all. Thank you."

When Riverice left, Aurorastar stood and jumped on the large stone jutting from the ground beside her den before calling her clan.

"I, Aurorastar, leader of Dawnclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this cat. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.

"Sky, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do."

"Then by the powers of Starclan, I name you Skystorm. May Starclan guide your path."

Skystorm:
The she-cat jumped in joy before quickly settling in embarrassment. She glowed in pride as her clan called her by her new name. As the crowd dispersed, Lynxheart walked up to her.

"Congrats, I knew you would get there. I wanted to ask you something. Do you want to take a walk with me?"

Skystorm was shocked. She knew he was deputy and he ask her to spend time with him.

"Uh, yes! Yes." She chuckled nervously.

Lynxheart:
He smiled as he led the new warrior out of camp. His plan seems to be working.

The two cats paused beside a stream and watched the water glid by.

"I wanted to know if you would be my mate."
Lynxheart asked in mock shyness.

If Skystorm noticed, she didn't care. She nodded and he licked her cheek before they continued their walk.

Tigerflame:
"Maplepaw! Maplepaw, where are you?"

"Over here."

"Good. Today we are going to go running. We would swim but it's too cold."

Maplepaw sighed but followed Tigerflame's lead as the two sprinted across the moor. By the time the two got back, Maplepaw was tired.

Maplepaw:
As he stumbled into the apprentice den, he crashed into Lynxheart.

"What did that stupid medicine cat tell Aurorastar?"

Lynxheart growled and dug his claws into the dirt. Maplepaw flinched and took a step back.

"He told her a prophecy and that Fawnfeather said you were being mean. It was something like 'The Brightness of Dawn has been corrupted, and victory must be Scent from above' Aurorastar said she might ask you to step down."

"Hmm, really? Luckily, Starclan is a myth, or at least they don't care about us. Tell me, Maplepaw, if I became leader, would you be my deputy?"

"No thank you! I'm fine with being a warrior."

"Fine, but stick with me and you will become the best warrior. Now, get some sleep."

Maplepaw gladly dropped into his nest and fell asleep.

Skystorm (again):
"Riverice? Do you want to go hunting with me? I'll handle the prey but you can get stuff for healing."

"Sure, let's go. I can't stay out long though, I have to make sure none of the kits get sick."

With a nod of agreement, the two set out.

Aurorastar (again):
"Lynxheart? I am leaving you in charge. I'm going to talk to Starclan."

Without waiting for a reply, the leader sprinted out of camp and towards the Lapis of the Moon. She hope to get another queen, one to keep Fawnfeather company. And to perhaps ask Starclan what is going on with Lynxheart.

Lynxheart (again):
The tom left the camp faking a happy-go-lucky face, but the second he left camp, his scowl returned. Fawnfeather would have to pay, Riverice and Aurorastar too. Maybe he would kill a kit, and steal a life or two from Aurorastar. But what to do with Riverice?

'Should I just kill him? Perhaps, but I'll need someone to reach a medicine cat loyal to me and me alone. Either way, I need more followers. Maplepaw doubts me too much.'

With that thought the large deputy, padded along two borders, staying out most of the afternoon.

[Lynxheart spends most of the morning patrolling the borders in an attempt to find some followers. He patrols two borders]

Eagleclan

Snow battered the sides of the Eagleclan camp. The mountains partly shielded the small dip that was Eagleclan's territory, but the cold still seeped in, making the air frosty and the air thick with snow. It was chilly outside, but the camp was warm, and in the healer's den a lone cat sat.

Ripplecloud's paws sorted through her collection of herbs with practiced precision. Shriveled and rotting plants were placed in a pile by the entrance, the goldenrod she found was placed next to horsetail, and the toxic water hemlock tucked away, concealed in a deep, dark nook. (She still didn't know what had urged her to take it with her. Perhaps she picked so so it didn't deceive any unfortunate cats, but even then, there was no good reason for her to have it stored..) Ripplecloud narrowed her eyes and scrunched her nose as she hastily hid it away, out of sight, and out of mind.

Ripplecloud was just about to clean her fur and go to her nest for the night when her ears picked up the, quickly approaching, shuffling of snow. Eaglestar stepped into the camp, closely followed by a cream tabby with a long coat of fur. Eaglestar visibly shivered as he brushed clumps of snow off his coat, but the newcomer seemed unaffected, although he looked at the monarch with concern.

"Welcome back." Ripplecloud meowed. Her tail swept low to the ground as she motioned them over with a paw. Eaglestar smiled and stepped forward, the other tom not far behind. "So this is Eagleclan camp, Sunfoot! I believe introductions are in order." He hummed, placing himself between the two cats, and he pointed to each in turn. "Sunfoot, meet Ripplecloud. She's our healer. And, Ripplecloud, meet Sunfoot, our newest recruit!" Sunfoot visibly perked up before sheepishly shrinking back, mewing with a lowered head, "greetings to you, Ripplecloud." Ripplecloud couldn't help but smirk fondly. A little young, and a little shy, it seemed, but she could see the glow of a good, fair cat in his eyes.

Sunfoot glanced around the camp warily, but eventually relaxed. Once he did, tiredness began seeping into his expression. "Eaglestar, do you know where the knight's den is?" He practically yawned. Eaglestar turned and blinked at him kindly. "It's the den to the right of the entrance. There should be enough moss to make a bed or two." Sunfoot nodded gratefully and trotted towards the den, looking over his shoulder once before slipping into the shadows and leaving Eaglestar and Ripplecloud alone. With a sigh, Eaglestar flopped down on the ground. "From what little he's told me, he's had a long day." He shifted his gaze to the mouth of the Eagleclan camp. "Apparently he comes from a clan over yonder and got lost in the blizzard. Pretty tightlipped.." "and a little timid too." Ripplecloud added, settling down next to the leader.

Eaglestar quietly breathed out his agreement. He paused, then shuffled his paws beneath him, and pulled out a dark brown, speckled feather. He seemed almost embarrassed as he placed it in front of Ripplecloud. "Look. Don't laugh, but do you know how to read fortunes?" Ripplecloud's whiskers twitched with slight surprise. It was a bit of odd question, but one she had an answer to. "Actually, yes, yes I do. I happened to learn the art while on my travels." Eaglestar chuckled with relief. "Okay, that's good. I was worried you'd just think it's a silly myth but.. Honestly, I put a lot of trust in these sort of things." Eaglestar confessed, turning his eyes wistfully up at the sky. "it's actually the reason I'm here today." He shook his head and slowly got to his paws, seeming saddened by the conversation. "Sorry for holding you up here. I know it's late, and you're probably tired." Ripplecloud nodded, still curious, but feeling it best not to push the young leader for now. She purred, "well then, goodnight to you Eaglestar, and may Starclan light your path." Eaglestar nodded respectfully back, his eyes glinting gratefully, and him and Ripplecloud parted ways.

[[The next morning, Ripplecloud and Sunfoot take their oaths and join the ranks of Eagleclan.]]

(The thing with this is, you can either make a vague mini-prophecy (newleaf flowers will bring a friend , watch the skies for a sign, beware the what hides in the shadows, etc) or just tell me if the outcome will be good, bad, or neutral and I'll make one myself! Hope that's enough info, haha :0)
