Spiderstar's ear twitched as she woke up to the birds chirping. The she-cat stood up, and padded out of her den. ``Hmm, I feel a bit hungry. Maybe I should go hunt.`` She said to herself. Spiderstar's eyes shifted around her to-be camp that she prepared all by herself, hoping someone would join her. Spiderstar sniffed the crisp air, hoping to catch a scent. Catching a scent, Spiderstar walked to north of her camp, hoping to find something.

Aurorastar:
She walked along the South border in a small daze. She figured the most she would find along the twoleg border was a stray kittypet or two. As she sniffed at a fence post, a larger tom jumped down beside her. The handsome, grey tom flashed her a smile.
"Hey Wildcat, what do you say that I join you on this fine day?" He purred as he rubbed against her.
"It's Aurorastar. And why would a kittypet like you want to leave the warm twoleg den?" She held back a sigh.
"Name's Tiger. Pleasure to meet you Wildcat. And my housefolk, twolegs as you call them, well, they won't let me out enough. Always yell at me when I tell them I want out." Tiger let out an amused chuckle. "I've always wanted to live with the clan cats. So what do you say, Wildcat, can I join you?"
Aurorastar turned with a sigh and continued on, with Tiger trailing her.

Lynxheart:
As he padded beside Fawnfeather, he wondered how Aurorastar's patrol was going. He knew she planed on going to the Moonstone later on and he hoped she would get back home safely. He admitted to himself that he liked her but didn't want to asked her to become his mate just yet. He sighed and give a sniff. That sniff told him that Fawnfeather went east so he went West, following the scent of a rabbit.

Fawnfeather:
She gladly agreed to go hunting with Lynxheart when he asked. She didn't much care for hunting and would rather stay in the camp but she wanted to prove herself. As she padded on with Lynxheart, she noticed he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings and split with him to chase after a squirrel. The squirrel ran towards a tree but Fawnfeather proved quicker as she pounced and snapped up the squirrel. Proudly she headed back towards Lynxheart and accidentally scared away his rabbit. They walked home and Fawnfeather dropped her prey into the meager prey pile, while Lynxheart walked to the Warrior's den.

Tiger:
He followed Aurorastar home with his constant flirtations. He liked her fierce attitude and her calmness even when he continued to annoy her. He liked her and was determined to get her to like him too. He could see that she was getting used to him and soon she began to hide her smile. With a satisfied smile, he walked into camp beside her and followed her to her den.
"So, Wildcat, I'm not too good with this clan stuff so how do I get my warrior name?" He pawed the sand floor.
"Well, you first leave my den so I can call a clan meeting where I'll give you your name." Aurorastar grumbled with fake annoyance.
Tiger just smirked and walked out. He settled in front of the Meeting Stone and watched as Aurorastar gracefully leaped onto the stone and called the clan. His smile grew when Fawnfeather and Lynxheart sat beside him.
"This cat is willing to leave his kittypet life behind and join Dawnclan as a warrior. Tiger, are you willing to protect your clan even with your life?" Aurorastar's strong voice filled the hollow.
"I do." Tiger stood proudly, his voice equally strong.
"Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you the name Tigerflame for your determination is that of a flame." Aurorastar smiled at her new warrior, before jumping down and resting her muzzle on his head.
"Thanks, Wildcat, for allowing me to join." Tigerflame murmured.

Lynxheart (again):
As the clan disbanded, he called Tigerflame to go hunting with Fawnfeather while he checked the east border. Tigerflame ignored him and continued to talk to Aurorastar. He grew jealous and told Fawnfeather to go alone. He stalked over to the two chatting cats and overheard them talking about the Moonstone Visit. Without hesitation, he said he would join Aurorastar.
"Lynxheart, I want you to stay here. Guard the camp. Tigerflame will go with me instead." Aurorastar gave him a tight smile. "I can trust you right?"
Holding a growl, he glared at Tigerflame.
"Fine, I'm going to check the east border." With that he left the camp grumbling about how Tigerflame would pay.

Tigerflame (again):
As he watched the deputy leave, he looked to Aurorastar.
"He seems jealous, are you mates or something?"
"No, just friends." Aurorastar sighed and stood. "Lets just go. I'm going to ask Starclan for a Medicine Cat." She nuzzled Tigerflame. "Besides, I got a different tom on my mind."
Tigerflame knocked her over before sprinting ahead. Aurorastar laughed as she pelted after him.

Weather
Winter. Sometimes, winter creeps in slowly, lulling
cats into a sense of security. This year is not like that.
Winter started with a storm; one day still autumn, the next
icy cold and unwelcome, and announced with thunder.
Where cold comes, sickness follows. A sniffle from patrol
can easily lead to sneezes, and to disease if ignored.
Difficult as it is, avoiding the cold as much as possible really
is the only way to avoid the bugs of winter. And - Starclan
forbid - if disease entered camp, continuing to avoid the
cold really will be needed for any recovery.
Nights are drawing in far more rapidly now, as are the prey.
Not all hibernate, of course, but it's obvious which ones do;
the few still out for cats to find are plump-looking, nearly
fat enough to last out until spring. Hunting will be far less
fruitful once the winter weather really sets in.

Probably worth saying that you’rre allowed to pick up to 5 herbs to start off with when you get a med cat! I see no reason you couldn’t just reject them if you don’t want them, but I thought I should say in case you weren’t sure of that. If you want to steal a thing (from me) that makes the herb list more compact, feel free to PM me.

[ Perhaps if Dawnclan had a medicine cat they'd notice the little signs of malevolence among their ranks. The frog that Fawnfeather catches has a strange marking in its darker spots, looking a little like a heart, but twisted and warped. It could almost say that the heart was corrupted. But alas, with no medicine cat, if it were spotted, its interpretation would be a matter of luck ]

weather: leaf-bare.
during leaf-bare, the chances of catching greencough is higher. if you send the same cat out multiple times in the same post, they are more likely to catch a cold, which can lead to whitecough and greencough, so be careful. after your cat catches a cold, don't send them out for two posts, or their cold will progress to whitecough or greencough. the sun will start to go down early and it will get colder once the sun starts to go down. you will also catch less prey and are less likely to find new cats.

Nugget, As In the Gold Nugget

Fadedsong woke up in a strange place. It was cloudy and the sky was a strange pink-ish purple color. When she looked down, all she could see was clouds, not even her paws, and when she looked up she could see the pink and purple sky with two stars resting in it. "This doesn't look like LambClan... Where am I?" Fadedsong thought out loud, looking around the empty space. There was a long moment of silence, which led her to believe she was all alone. She looked around, making sure she still had a body. She did her best to look behind her, and was flooded with relief to know she still had one. She found her tail and back. When she tried looking underneath her again, she felt her body turn forwards, which sort of panicked her. She got to see her paws, but now her belly was facing towards the multi-colored sky. What is going on...? Fadedsong thought as she struggled to turn herself back over. Finally, she did, and even managed to place her paws on the red bloody clouds in the process. Hold on, bloody? She raised her head in surprise and lifted her paws back near her stomach. She noticed that sky was no longer a mixture of slight pink and purple. It was instead a dark red and black one. The two stars that were once in the sky were now gone and Fadedsong could hear a strange sound echoing in the distance. She looked franticly all around her, with a strong feeling of dread brewing inside her mind.
The strange sound was nearing her, causing her to unsheathe her claws in case it ever got to the point where she'd have to fight for her life. Eyes wide, she heard the sound of breathing behind her. It murmured something she couldn't quite make out. "Ir ra ra rill rida... Ir ra ra rill rida..." It hummed. Fur on end, she swiveled herself around to meet the wide eyes of a cat much bigger than she. Its hazel eyes were about the size of her head and its fur was dark and red. It had a large grin that revealed all of its sharp, red fangs, with one tooth broken and another missing. "Ir ra ra rill rida...." It breathed, its face still.

"Then when I'm done, I'll take out the rest of your pathetic Clan."

Fadedsong woke up breathing heavily. She looked outside her den, a feeling of dread as she realized it was still night. Terror was still in her mind, she couldn't just go back to sleep. She backed herself in the corner of her den and sat, staring outside her den until her breathing calmed. She was so confused, so shocked... She didn't know what to do. She'd crawl outside her den, climb up to the leaders' then try her best to sleep beside Lambstar, but she was too frightened to leave her den. She decided to just sit there, until the morning sun chased the night sky away.

* * * * * * *

The first rays of morning finally shined down on LambClan's camp. Fadedsong slowly crept outside her den and checked around, making sure she was safe to leave out. She then bounded over to the warriors' den and began waking everyone up. "Rise and shine!" She purred, as if nothing was wrong. "Come on, the early bird gets the worm!"
"But the early worm gets eaten by the bird..." Whiterose muttered sleepily. "So which do you prefer?"
"I prefer to be the late worm who stays alive, so good night!" Luckyfur responded, grabbing a pawful of moss from his nest and plopping it on top of his head like he was trying to hide away from Fadedsong's voice.
"Noooooo, get up!" Fadedsong meowed. "Come on, we need to start on our patrols!"
"UGGGHHHHH!" Flurrytuft groaned, using his forelegs to raise himself up from his nest. "Fadedsong, stop it with all that noise! We're trying to sleep."
"But you're done sleeping," Fadedsong responded. "Look, it's already day!"
Flurrytuft turned his head to see the daytime sky, then sighed. "Fine.... What's making you so jittery, anyways? You're usually in the same pond as me; you hate waking up in the morning." Flurrytuft questioned.
"Hey, you're not the only ones that hate waking up in the morning!" Mistyleaf yawned, getting out of her den. She stretched her legs then added, "Let's not do that again."
"Hahaha, sorry. I just... I dunno. But let's get up now, alright?" The medicine cat meowed, getting a chorus of groans in response.
"Fadedsong, you're the worst!" Sablewhisper moaned jokingly, shaking scraps of moss from his pelt. "Okay, fine. Who's going to wake up Lambstar?" The cats in the den looked around at each other. As much as the white leader didn't want to admit it, everyone knew she was the worst to wake up.
"Weellllll, since Fadedsong seems to have so much energy-"
"But you're her lover so you should wake her up!" Fadedsong interrupted.
"You have bad problem when it comes to interrupting cats." Flurrytuft commented.
"I know, I just always have something to say. But hey, I didn't hear you deny me sooooo...."
"Luckyfur, why don't you wake Lambstar up?" Flurrytuft suggested.
"Why is it always me? Whiterose, you wake Lambstar up." Luckyfur meowed.
"Mmmmmnnnnn.... Well, Mistyleaf and I have been talking and we think you, Luckyfur, are most skilled when it comes to waking Lambstar up." Whiterose slyly answered, sitting beside Mistyleaf.
"That's so unfair! Sablewhisper?"
"Ummm.... I dunno.... They have me convinced." Sablewhisper responded.
"We made some pretty compelling points." Whiterose added.
"Sablewhisper, you're fake!" Luckyfur hissed jokingly. "Wait, hold on, he never wakes up Lambstar! Make him do it!"
"What do you mean?" Sablewhisper asked.
"You never do it! Right, Flurrytuft?" The fluffy white and gray-striped tom responded.
"Sablewhisper, go wake Lambstar up." Flurrytuft ordered.
"What? I thought Lucky was going to wake her up!" Sablewhisper protested.
"Not anymore, now that I've told you to." Flurrytuft responded.
"Wha? I just- but-"
"No 'if', 'ands', 'buts' about it. Now go!" Flurrytuft said, getting a sigh out of Sablewhisper as the black tom left to wake up their feisty leader.
Fadedsong caught herself chuckling at the warriors' arguing. "Is this really what you guys do every morning?" She asked. Whiterose nodded.
"Basically. Sablewhisper even had a ten day streak of not waking Lambstar up." Whiterose said.
"He did? How come I never knew about this?" Flurrytuft asked.
"'Cause we knew you'd just make him wake her up if you did know." Mistyleaf explained. "By the way, that was pretty 'fake' of you to rat him out like that." The white she-cat said to Luckyfur.
"Yeah, but I really didn't want to do it..." Luckyfur complained. "Last time, she almost scratched me!"
"Ouch. She never tries to scratch me, though." Flurrytuft commented.
"That's because she loves you." Fadedsong teased.
"I- Okay, Fadedsong, do you want to go on a patrol or somethin'?" Flurrytuft asked, changing the subject.
"Uh... Not really, but I did want to take Whiterose with me to get some herbs."
"Alright. Go ahead and take her, I'll send out patrols as soon as Lambstar gets up."

* * * * * * *

Fadedsong and Whiterose return to camp with a bundle of poppy seeds and hawkweed. The two she-cats bonded a bit more on their search, realizing they have a bit more similarities than they thought.
"Honestly, I can't believe I'm not the only one who adores Murkyeyes! He's just so old and grumpy!" Whiterose exclaimed around the hawkweed.
"I know! I like to think of him as my grandpa." Fadedsong mewed. The two gossiped about the elderly tom until they entered camp. There, they saw a young, orange tabby tom speaking with Lambstar, Flurrytuft, and Luckyfur.
"What's going on?" Whiterose questioned as she approached the cats.
"I met him on my patrol." Luckyfur explained. "He wants to join."
"Yeah... Apparently Rita knows him? He's her nephew, I think." Flurrytuft added.
The orange tabby nodded. "Yes, I'm her old mate's sister's son." He meowed. "I'm Nugget, by the way. Pleased to meet you two." He greeted, dipping his head to both Whiterose and Fadedsong.
Whiterose's ears perked at the young tom's manner's. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well." She responded. "You look rather young. How old are you, if it's okay that I ask?"
"Seven moons and counting." Nugget responded, politely. "And it's very much fine, thank you."
"I like him. Is he joining?" Whiterose asked Lambstar.
"Maybe? What do you think, Fadedsong?" Lambstar asked.
"Umm..." Fadedsong looked at the young, orange tom. His eyes were bright and round with a slight hint of eagerness in them. The medicine cat didn't know what it was, but she didn't like looking into them. She turned away and eyed the other high ranks for a bit. "Well... Do we have a mentor for him?" Fadedsong asked.
"No, but I can ask StarClan for one." The curly-furred leader responded.
"Even better; I can train him myself." Whiterose offered.
"Well then, I guess?" Fadedsong shrugged.
"Oh, thank you! Thank you!" Nugget purred, bounding up to Fadedsong. He stared right at her eyes. Though his gleam, in reality, was very jovial, she took it as a challenge and unsheathed her claws as she stared at him back through narrowed eyes. The young tom backed away. "M-my apologies, I was just a bit excited." He apologized. The cats there looked over to Fadedsong, making her fur feel hot. Not even she knew why she was acting so strangely near the tom.
"Er, sorry. Its been a long day." Fadedsong muttered. "Let me check on Rita an- Raggedfang and the kits." She stuttered, excusing herself. As she left, Fadedsong heard Luckyfur say,
"Oh, and we met a GustClan patrol on the way! The cats were Shellcloud, Bugleclaw, Martinwhisker, and Clarystorm. They were really friendly and gave us some tips on how to name our cats!"
And Lambstar respond, "Listen up, Flurrytuft."
Fadedsong breathed out a small chuckle, then entered the nursery where she saw Carrotkit trying to crawl out of the nest.
"Get back here." Raggedfang grumbled to the runaway kit.
"Buh I wunna expore!" Carrotkit mewed.
"You may explore once you learn to pronounce your words correctly." The brown she-cat told him. "Now get back over here." Sighing, Carrotkit decided to rejoin his siblings in the nest near Raggedfang's belly.
"Are they treating you well, Raggedfang?" Fadedsong purred as she approached the replacement queen.
"So far? Yes. They're very obedient and are very good kits." Raggedfang answered. "Some are just a bit more adventurous than others."
"Yeah, Carrotkit!" Cauliflowerkit squeaked.
"Hey, se's bein mean!" Carrotkit whined to Raggedfang.
"Stop being so mean, Cauliflowerkit." Fadedsong scolded for the older she-cat.
"Who are you?" Cauliflowerkit asked.
"You don't know me? I'm Fadedsong, the medicine cat! I helped your mother give birth to you." Fadedsong answered.
"She did?" Galakit murmured, taking her face away from Raggedfang's fluffy side so she could look at the brown she-cat.
"Yes, but remember: I'm not your mother. Your mother was a much better she-cat than I." Raggedfang said (and partially lied).
"I know..." Galakit sighed. She had heard the tales of her mother dying whilst birthing her and her siblings.
"Well, I just came to check on you guys. Do you need anything before I go to sleep?" Fadedsong asked.
"Nothing at all. And you kits should sleep to, I believe its about time for you all to take a nap." Raggedfang told the kittens.
"Buh I'm naw sleepy!" Carrotkit said.
"Well you better pretend to before Raggedfang makes you go to sleep!" Coverkit mewled, then turned to the queen. "Right, Raggedfang?" He asked, hoping she'd approve of his words.
"Right. Sleep now, children." The messy-furred she-cat muttered, laying her head down and curling her tail around the kits. Fadedsong purred in amusement before she left the nursery to her den. Before she arrived there, she saw Lambstar leaded Nugget to the apprentices' den with Flurrytuft following behind them.
"And this is where you'll sleep...." Lambstar's voice trailed off.
"Nuggetpaw." Flurrytuft said, completing her sentence.
"I... I know that's his name it's just.... Nuggetpaw?"
"Yeah, Nugget, as in the gold nugget. Y'know?" Flurrytuft said.
"I know but just... We just had a whole conversation on how to name warriors and you name him this?" Fadedsong heard Lambstar say.
"Yeah! Pretty good, right?" Flurrytuft purred, sounding rather proud of himself. "Then when he's a warrior we can name him Nuggetgold."
"Great StarClan, Flurrytuft." Lambstar breathed in disappointment. Nuggetpaw purred at the two.
"Well, goodnight Flurrytuft and Lambstar." Nuggetpaw said, heading inside the apprentices' den.
"G-goodnight, Nuggetpaw." Lambstar meowed.
"Goodnight, Nuggetgold!" Flurrytuft purred.
"Flurrytuft, please." Lambstar breathed, getting a chuckle out of the tom.
"And goodnight to you too, Lambstar." He finally said, nuzzling the white she-cat.
"Goodnight, Flurry..." Lambstar rumbled, nuzzling him back. Fadedsong purred at the sight, then left to her den.
Once inside, she prayed, Dear, StarClan, please don't let Flurrytuft lead this Clan with naming skills like that. At least let him give names that make sense.

❅ leaf-bare the first signs of leafbare have just begun to show, with some territories seeing snow and others feeling nothing but a stronger chill in the air. cats are more likely to get sick when sent out multiple times and kittings will become more dangerous to both the kits and the mother.

Where cold comes, sickness follows. A sniffle from patrol
can easily lead to sneezes, and to disease if ignored.
Difficult as it is, avoiding the cold as much as possible really
is the only way to avoid the bugs of winter. And - Starclan
forbid - if disease entered camp, continuing to avoid the
cold really will be needed for any recovery.
Nights are drawing in far more rapidly now, as are the prey.
Not all hibernate, of course, but it's obvious which ones do;
the few still out for cats to find are plump-looking, nearly
fat enough to last out until spring. Hunting will be far less
fruitful once the winter weather really sets in.

As per always when I do replies, if your clan doesn't do a skill that I have an apprentice learn, feel free to just replace it.
I personally count kits, as the mother has to eat more to feed them. Creatures need to eat more to grow fast, as only about 10% of what they eat is actually used to make them grow. Don't worry about it for that post, as they can go 1 moon without eating and you don't know how I judge things before I say it, but for future reference, that's what I think's best, and I think Dei said something similar to someone a few weeks ago too?

Spiderstar looked at the loner, who dropped the plump bird. ``I could've caught that just fine!`` Spiderstar hissed at the loner. The loner scoffed. ``Seriously? Your technique is sloppy. It nearly got away if it weren't for me.`` The tom cat smugly replied. Spiderstar flattened her ears. ``Look, look. I mean no trouble. I have been around here for a while and noticed you've made a camp. Are you forming a clan?`` He asked Spiderstar. ``Yes, yes I am. Why do you care?`` Spiderstar snapped. ``I wanted to join you, you have no cats in your clan from what it seems and it looks like you could use some assistance.`` The loner began. ``I'm... Rainripple. What's your name?`` The loner asked Spiderstar. ``I suppose you could join. I'm Spiderstar.`` Spiderstar told Rainripple, who seemed like he came up with his name on the spot. ``Cool name. Here, Spiderstar. I'll teach you how to hunt.`` Rainripple meowed.
