"And from now on," declared Honeystar, standing upon Crowcloud's Boulder, "Scorchpaw will be known as Scorchpelt. His determination, kindness, and optimism will be highly valued by both Forestclan and Starclan."

Scorchpelt stood proudly at the base of the boulder, looking out at the crowd. Forestclan would move back to their camp in a few moons, but for now Honeystar had decided to let the brambles and trees regrow. He wished that he could have earned his warrior name earlier, but though he had passed his assessments, he had been too busy helping with moving the camp to their current location to recieve his warrior name. However, Honeystar had assured him that his help only made him more worthy of his name.

"Scorchpelt! Scorchpelt!" cheered the clan. Scorchpelt grinned.

Barleystream could hardly believe that Honeystar had joined her patrol by the river. She had initially argued that it might not be safe, that the river might be high, but the leader hadn't listened, insisting that it was her duty. Barleystream couldn't really argue with that, and so had accepted Honeystar's presence.

"It's a beautiful day," sighed Falconflower, "after all the destruction."

Palefur nodded vigorously. "If only I could patrol more often!" he exclaimed.

"Why can't you?" asked Falconflower, curious.

"Because my fur's too thin," Palefur replied. "I might as well have no coat during leafbare."

Alderclaw winced. "At least the greenleafs are hot."

"That they are," agreed Palefur amiably.

It was at that moment that changed Forestclan forever. Barleystream would remember the moment for seasons. She saw Alderclaw trip on a small branch as they talked, and fall into the river. It happened so quickly, that for an instant, the patrol was quiet. Then, Falconflower leaped into the water with Honeystar close behind. Palefur and Barleystream froze and looked at each other. Then, they too, leaped into the water.

The river was cold and Barleystream let it carry her downstream, closer to her clanmates. She paddled her legs, gaining ground. She could see Honeystar holding Falconflower in her jaws, with Alderclaw nowhere in sight. The leader turned around and her eyes widened. Her grip slackened and Falconflower was swept away. Without another word, Barleystream started backpedaling. The river was too strong. Best to save Honeystar and Palefur while she could.

Honeystar and Barleystream returned to camp carrying Palefur, who was in shock after his swim in the frigid river. The clan immediately swarmed to them, demanding to know what happened but Birchnose's voice rose above the rest.

"Where's Alderclaw? Where's my mate?"

Honeystar looked at Birchnose wearily. "I tried," she said in a hoarse whisper. "The river was too strong."

Bearstar flicked his ears slightly as he spoke with Mapleflower. The kits were crowding the nursery with their size, and it was obvious they were almost 6 moons "Just a while more, Mapleflower." He chuckled to his best friend while she heaved a great, dramatic sigh "I love them so much, but they get under my fur sometimes. Now with Leopardeyes in the nursery, it's gonna be even more crowded." She chuckled, while she watched Flamekit bat at Poppykit playfully. Batkit was once again helping Heronstream sort through poppyseeds, his huge ears twitched every so often. Bearstar watched Batkit with interest, and looked towards Mapleflower. The she-cat was lovingly watching both her sons, her bright green eyes sparkling. Bearstar smiled happily, and breathed in deeply. His clan was doing well. He could feel Hickoryflower smiling down at him from Starclan, and he feels pride for how far he has come.

Jackdawkit stuck his tongue out at Creamkit, and she did the exact same thing right on back to him. They leaped at each other, and started tussling in the dirt, batting at each others ears and mrrowing with ferocious intent. Well, not really. Honeynose laughed as she talked with Fallingbirch, who was stoic faced as usual, but you could basically see the happiness radiating off him in waves as he made his beloved laugh. Flamekit and Poppykit were playing with a feather, their attention totally caught up in it.

Lilacpounce felt... awkward, to say the least. This was all extremely new to her. She had never had a family before, always having to look out for herself in the big, bad world. She had come across these clan cats before, but she didn't know if they had bad intents, so she just left them alone. When they pursued her, she had felt threatened, but was shocked when she realized they just wanted to offer her a place within their ranks. She, of course, being the fabulous cat she was, replied with sass and a bit of rudeness, but agreed to join non-the-less. She was actually enjoying herself for once, but still couldn't shake the awkward feeling. Maybe she needed some friends. She had tried talking to that Wolfstep guy, but he just seemed mad a grumpy all the time. Maybe if she talked to him some more, he would open up ??

The leader her made her way out of her den, her steps slow due to her pain still lingering inside of her. It was better, but not to the point where she could move around like she used to. Sunpetal now kept a long scar over his chest, although he mentioned he had never felt pain with it. Ryestar let out a soft sigh from the thought. The deputy was now padding towards her. He now held a warm smile like he used to, almost as if he had chosen to forget the whole incident.

"Good morning, Ryestar. I'd like to report that Brightpaw has found Pheasantpaw. Both of them have returned to camp, though I'm sorry to say that now Heatherfrost is gone."

"Get a patrol organized to look for her. Since both of the apprentices' training has been delayed I will be their mentor for the day."

The two cats exchanged smiles, the deputy also giving her a small thank you. Ryestar on the other hand wasn't sure if the apprentices could be made into warriors on time. She was going to mention it to her deputy but he was gone before she could let out another word. The clan was sure going through some hectic times, she wasn't sure if it would get any better. They had a queen, who Charredfern had chosen to take care of while Creamfoot focused on the wounds from both herself and Sunpetal. She thought she had finally kept the clan under control, but now a trusted and skilled warrior was missing from it. The sandy she-cat then started to search for the apprentices. She was eager to start training them.

Weather:
Leaf-Fall- The air has a slight nip to it, easily finding its way inside dens, so make sure to repair your dens and patch any cracks. The twolegs and their dogs won't come into the Clan territories as often as they do in greenleaf, but you will still see them from time to time. Foxes and badgers are now more commonly found, so be careful. Kitting will start to become harder during this time.

Something to do with 'beware the night feathers', I think," the medicine cat finished; Leafstar blinked thoughtfully before replying slowly, "When I was made leader, Thornstar told me that the sea would rise higher than before, but it would be wise to beware the night feathers. Thornstar must be telling us not to put our guards down." Honeytuft's ears twitched as he mewed honestly, "I don't like the ambiguity of our ancestors..." Leafstar sighed, "I don't either. We all came from completely different walks of life before we joined this Clan, all because of their guidance. So far they have kept us safe; I think it's good enough reason to believe they are on our side. Besides," the SeaClan leader added, "they knew we were all descendants of the old SeaClan." Honeytuft nodded thoughtfully and replied, "Aye. I wasn't so keen when I first started to receive dreams from StarClan, but I am so glad they led me to you and the Clan. We may be only three in number, now" he added, "but I don't need to be a medicine cat to know that our Clan is going to prosper and grow for many seasons to come, knowing we have the protection and guidance of our ancestors." Both toms nodded in agreement, and padded out of the medicine cat's chamber together. Leafstar dipped his head to Honeytuft and he left, going to hunt in the sea. He needed a swim anyway, to put his mind off what he'd heard from the honey-colored tom.

(On patrol)

"So," Emberwhisker asked, her tortoiseshell coat seemingly shining in the sun's rays, "Leafstar asked you to patrol with me?" Honeytuft chuckled and mewed, "Yes, Emberwhisker. Just because I'm the medicine cat," he added, a twinkle in his yellow eyes, "doesn't mean I'm a defenseless cat. Just like you and Leafstar, I was a rogue. I fought tooth and claw to protect myself back then, and I'll do the same for the Clan now, if need be. Now," the honey-colored tom concluded merrily, "Let's go on and finish this patrol. I still need to find some of those herbs I need..." Emberwhisker nodded and sprinted ahead, calling behind her, "All righty! Let's go find those herbs, patrol, and be back to impress Leafstar!" Chuckling, Honeytuft followed her.

The leader nodded slowly. “Is.. that all that’s wrong?”
“EmberFoot just... is difficult sometimes.”
RowanStar almost smiled. “Sibling rivalry must be hard. Let’s go then.”
As the two walked out of camp, EmberFoot bristled at the sight of his sister. With a quiet growl, he made his way into camp.
“WhitePaw!”
The small, white apprentice walked out of the medicine cat den, having been talking to MudWhisker about his life before this small Clan. “Yes EmberFoot?”
“Let’s go training. I want you to learn how to fight.” His voice was somewhat cold and level, but WhitePaw hadn’t noticed.
WhitePaw smiled. “Okay!” She quickly skipped out of camp, very excited.
MudWhisker watched the two walk away, but he felt uneasy about the idea of an angry cat training their apprentice how to fight. Apprentices weren’t meant to be used as anger-issue punching bags. All he could do is hope that EmberFoot wouldn’t injure the small apprentice too badly.

Then he took a deep breath and his eyes went blank for a moment. "I was sent by StarClan." he explained, growing in confidence. Then Emberblaze bounded into camp, his eyes bright. "We caught-" he began. "I was told I was going to be a medicine cat apprentice." he paused. "Will I become Windpaw?" The apprentice's green eyes stared up imploringly. At that moment, Cloudyspots walked in, two herbs in her mouth. "Y-yes." The eerie apprentice's eyes lit up. "Who's that?" Cloudyspots asked."I'm Windpaw..." The apprentice stammered again, reminding Skystar of a few moments ago when he had spoke exactly like that. His fur bristled. Then the border patrol came in, leaving the hunting patrol to push their way into the camp entrance as even more warriors jostled past. Boarpaw gawped at the new apprentice, and Firepaw stuck his head out of the apprentice den and gaped. Windpaw ignored the two other apprentices, and batted at a leaf soaring in the wind.

Cloudyspots edged her way forward, dropping the herbs. Windpaw ran over to her. She could smell the scent of herbs on his pelt. A medicine cat apprentice! "I guess you are going to be my apprentice?" She enquired. Skystar's eyes widened and she purred with amusement. Dreamingwing, who was sitting by the queen's den, caught her eye and both of them started to chuckle. Windpaw looked at her oddly. Boarpaw walked up to her. "We found a kit!" He gave her a look too, and somehow Cloudyspots calmed herself. She took a few deep breaths, and noticed her new apprentice was doing the same. "Lets go collect herbs!" She yowled, eyes wild with excitement. "But the kit..."

~A few days later~

Mintkit looked around. He was surrounded by she-kits. Smallkit had his hackles raised, growling at all of them, before walking over to a kit found on the border, Shadowkit. Mintkit cocked his head in surprise. Smallkit had claimed that all of the she-kits were enemies, but now he supposed he was changing his mind. Mintkit shrugged. If Smallkit wanted to join the enemy's side, that was fine. He shook his head drowsily.
Mintkit closed his eyes, just before hearing a voice nearby.
"Shadowkit, meet Saddlekit!"
A light rain nibbled at the clan, ready to engulf them. The ice-like claws rug into their pelts, warning them to stay away. Soon there would be more shadows stretching over the truth.

[The clan consumes 4 servings]

[ Cloudyspots and Windpaw gathered bindweed, burdock root and celandine while herb hunting ]
[ Firepaw learned the Battle skill while training ]
[ Boarpaw learned the Swimming skill while training ]
[ Windpaw learned Basic Herb Knowledge while training ]
[ Emberblaze, Dewthorn, Firepaw, Vinetail and Goldheart caught two hares and a bird while hunting. They also received a mouse and squirrel from a nearby Clan ]

Leafstar dipped his head toward the older she-cat Emberwhisker and Honeytuft had found at the border. She had introduced herself as Lucy, a former kittypet who had turned to the life of a rogue after she ran away from her Twolegs. She had been staying around the area the Clan called the Pine Grove for sometime, but only had come across them recently. Lucy dipped her head in greeting to the SeaClan leader as well, meowing, "I would like to join the Clan then; I'd heard of the Clans, and I like the idea of cats working together to survive." Leafstar mewed gratefully, "SeaClan is honored to have you as one of our warriors. But," he added, "you must be okay with having to change your name?" The white she-cat blinked in surprise and looked toward Emberwhisker and Honeytuft in slight bewilderment. Honeytuft exolained, "You see, in a Clan, we have different kinds of names." Emberwhisker nodded, adding, "Don't worry! I'm sure Leafstar will give you a name that fits you perfectly!" Lucy turned to Leafstar and meowed steadily, "All right then, that is fine with me."

Leafstar began, looking up into the sky, "I, Leafstar, leader of SeaClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this cat. She seeks to learn and understand the ways of your noble code and join us as a member, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn." Turning his gaze to Lucy, who was sitting in front of him, the sandy brown tom asked, "Do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" The white she-cat shivered at the question and glanced at Honeytuft, who was sitting nearby with Emberwhisker; the SeaClan medicine cat nodded in encouragement and mewed quietly, "Say 'I do'." The former kittypet nodded and faced Leafstar. She meowed firmly, her steady gaze meeting the leader's green gaze, "I do." Leafstar replied, "Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Lucy, from this moment on, you will be known as Whiterose. StarClan honors your courage and thirst for knowledge, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SeaClan." He then stepped close to the newly-named Whiterose and rested his muzzle on her head, whispering, "Now you will lick my shoulder." The warrior did as told, at which Emberwhisker and Honeytuft began chanting, "Whiterose! Whiterose! Whiterose!"

(A few days later)

Leafstar meowed, "Now that you have had time to learn the territory and the camp better, I'd like to take you to the borders. We patrol the bordersdaily and redo our scent markers, so that other cats know that this territory belongs to the cats of SeaClan," he explained. Whiterose nodded and got to her paws, meowing, "Well then Leafstar, what are we waiting for?" The sandy brown tom purred, "All right then!" He padded out to the main chamber, with the white warrior right at his heels; the SeaClan leader spotted Emberwhisker coming from a morning swim and meowed, "How's it going, Emberwhisker? Is the water too cold?" The young tortoiseshell she-cat replied, "Well, I think I got my swimming skill improved a lot! And the water is a lot colder," the warrior admitted, "but not too bad yet." The leader smiled and meowed, "That's certainly good news indeed! If you aren't too tired or cold," he added, "can I get you to go hunt for us in the Pine Grove? We should keep the fresh-kill pile stocked up." The young warrior nodded and started out, mewing, "You can count on me, Leafstar!"
