- the creek flows by slow, sweet, forgiving.
the cats who come here are in need of soft waters.
most cats who make a home by the calm flow were once forsaken, thrown away by their old groups or clans or what-have-you. either their old homes crumbled from time, or they left from not adhering to that specific clan's traditions, or simply they left because they wanted to. they want new beginnings, fresh starts.
the territory is thin patches of woods with streams of water circling throughout the grounds. the largest creek, which the clan is named after, forms the eastern border of the clan, with thicker woods filled with brambles, and vines, and other nuisances making up the northern, southern, and western borders. the cats make their homes more on the eastern side but still center to the area, right when the ground turns from marshy to sturdy. the medicine cat's den is in the hollowed roots of an ancient oak tree that fell long ago. announcements are made from atop a large trunk (believed to be the trunk from the medicine cat's den) perched on a small rock. the leader's den meets between the rock and trunk, covered with thick moss and supported by sticks. despite it's mildly precarious appearance, the leader's den is the only one that never soaks through even in the harshest storms. the other dens are made from thickets and moss and the occasional trunk. queens and elders stay in the trunks while warriors make do with the thickets.
prey comes from either the creek or the woods. fish is the most common prey, but a few rabbits, squirrels, and voles pop up from time to time.
few traditions vary from typical clan cat ones, but one particular to creekclan cats is during the warrior ceremony, cats are instructed to find their pebble the night of their ceremony. they must stay underwater for at least thirty seconds to prove that they are stronger than the creek. they fish out a pebble and must keep vigil that night with it atop their head. if it falls, they must repeat their vigil until they keep their pebble balanced for the night.
creekclan cats are peaceful, if not introverted. they try to not make enemies but they also try not to get too close with other clans. a simple phrase to define their style is "speak softly and carry a big stick"
