Weather:

A light drizzle of snow has begun to fall, the temperature grows ever so colder by each passing hour. The sun hasn't shown its warm face since the end of leaf-fall as it has been masked by the light grey clouds. Snow has started to stick to the ground, about an inch deep now. Prey is scarce and the chance of finding cats out in this weather is slim. Kitting has grown much harder now and sickness is much easier to catch, the young and old are at an even higher chance. Predators will still be about but even they are bracing for what is coming next.

Sagestar sat outside of the now crowded medicine cat's den. So many were sick and it was spreading rapidly. The tom glared at the ground and let out the usual nasty cough that seemed to go on for enturnity, when he finished he growled and muttered, "Useless medicine cats!"

Sagestar heard the chuckle from behind him, it was Tantoclaw, "What do you want?" Sagestar grumbled.

Tantoclaw shrugged, "Just reporting the patrols again. There is nothing out of the ordinary and plenty of prey despite the weather."

Sagestar rolled his eyes, "Good, now I have plenty of time to go over what I will say laterlater."

This intrigued Tantoclaw and he couldn't help but ask, "Later? What is happening later?"

Sagestar glared at the rust colored tom, "None of your business! Go tell Copereyes to make patrols." The leader forced out quickly before going into another coughing fit.

Waspfur sat with his brother, Coppereyes. Their mates were sharing a rabbit and talked about each others kits. Coppereyes couldn't help but look over at Badgerfall, he would have continued to ogle over his mate if Waspfur hadn't cleared his throat, "As I was saying, Lizardstream and I have been thinking. We are going to move on to a different territory and we wanted you and Badgerfall to come with. I know you are the deputy and you were here for a long time, but things are different with Sagestar as the leader. Something is just not right..." the tom trailed off.

Coppereyes nodded, "I noticed too, ven before the illness. The other day I was in the medicine cat den with Longpaw and over heard Archpool recite some kind of phrase. It was dark and spooky and when I asked him about it he got upset and brushed it off as nothing. I seriously think that Sagestar is the cause of this illness and Archpool is hiding something."

Waspfur shrugged, "We are leaving in three nights, my offer to join us still stands. For now I think I am going to go for a walk or something."

Coppereyes nodded and was about to say more before he saw Tantoclaw come over. Coppereyes sighed, "More patrols?"

Tantoclaw nodded, "Your leader's orders."

Coppereyes raised and eyebrow, "Our leader." He corrected.

Tantoclaw looked away and rolled his eyes, "Right, our leader." Sarcasm clear in his voice.

Foxclaw carried the remains of the quail over to Vixenspirit. He took his usual spot and sat next to her, even letting her take the first bite of quail. The tom cleared his throat and looked around nervously, "Vixenspirit, I am leaving Briarclan. And I want you to come with me because I like you. I promise I will take care of you and we will be safe together."

Vixenspirit had stopped eating and looked at the tom with a blank stare. There was a growing moment of silence before the molly got up, "Sorry Foxclaw, I dont like you the way you do for me. I was forced here and forced to stay around you. I stay ow because I know my group is long gone and it's not worth moving so close to leaf bare. I was going to leave during new leaf, when I had a chance to make it on my own." With that Vixenspirit padded away, not giving the tom another glance.

Foxclaw watched her leave and go into the forest. When he was sure she was out of view he swatted the quail with a hiss. Agrivated and upset from the rejection he got up and left, never returning or looking back.

Waspfur spotted his brother across the camp and he trotted over to him, "Coppereyes, let's go. Now is our chance while Sagestar makes his announcement. Badgerfall and Lizardstream are waiting, along with Ryestone and Erminepaw. They will be leaving with us but after we are out of the territory we are separating."

Coppereyes nodded and padded wiwith his brother to meet the others. As they were walking through the forest they heard a twig snap. The group froze in fear for a moment until they saw that it was Breezerunner. The tom smirked and told the group, "I didn't see you and you didn't see me." And with that he disappeared.

Erminepaw chuckled to Ryestone, "That was close! Hey do you want to race? It will be fun!"

Ryestone smiled and looked at the others, "It was nice knowing you guys, may our paths cross again and if not may Starclan watch over you." Ryestone then took off, Erminepaw chasing after him without care as he laughed.

Lizardstream watched after the two and smiled, "Ryestone will take good care of him I bet. Let's keep going." The Molly led the way out of the territory and into the unknown, all of them could feel the tension and worry leave their bodies. There was also a sadness, they knew that they were leaving their kits behind but they did offer them to come along. Most refused and some couldn't leave the medicine cats den.

Sagestar walked up on the highrock, a much harder task now that he was sick. His coughing worsened every passing day and now even he grew worried. After a short amount of thought he came up with a plan, and tonight was perfect to announce it. Once he reached the top of the rock he let out a husky yowl, "All cats must gather below the high rock!" It was a tad different but most seemed to have understood because some of the kits poked their head out of the den.

Once he was satisfied by the amount of cats below him he began his orders, "It has come to my attention that this sickness, no this plague, has wrecked havoc upon my clan. Archpool has fallen I'll now and Owlseed is no closer to finding a cure than she was a moon ago. It has spread to a good amount of cats now and I fear for the well being of the healthy. Leaf bare will be among us any day now and we cannot afford to lose more cats to this plague. So with much thought and consideration I have desired that all the sick and any cat that shows sign of sickness will be banished to the mountains. A quick death for most will lie there." The yowling below him and the anguish of others, most likely loved ones was growling louder.

Sagestar let out a hiss and growled until there was silence or enough of it for him to resume. "I of course will be going with them, Coppereyes will be in charge for the time being. I hope to return and maybe Starclan would pity a few of the sick and send them back healthy. But we cannot risk this plague getting any worse! We will set out at the next sun rise, so say your good byes while you can." The leader then jumped down from the high rock, only to be bombarded by a bunch of cats begging for him to change his mind, it was of no use.
