There’s no time to waste in the desert.

Location

The Tribe of Red Skies is locates in the outback of Australia. Their territory consists of grass-clustered flatlands with distant mountains and a few ravines/canyons.

Their camp lies in between two tall walls of rock. They are sheltered by some trees and their dens are all carved into the cliff side. There’s a small waterfall that trickles down the rock and pools at the bottom, giving the Tribe their main source off water.

Cats

Most of the cats here have a very “get things done” point of view. Work always comes before luxury to them and if you don’t do your duty, there are sever consequences. The cats are normally up before dawn to hunt, since it’s cooler and the prey is more active. To-be’s train hard every day. To become their final rank, the have an assessment and must climb to Star Peak to get the approval of their ancestors. The must sleep at the peak and bring home a piece of prey caught on their way back. It is a rough time living here, but all of the cats are extremely loyal and loving towards each other and will do anything to help another tribemate out.

Since they live in the desert, certain pelt colors are more common than others. Most of the cats have short fur, but have soft and fluffy fur. Here’s a list:

Moth was already gone by the time Spark had woken up. She has been acting strange the day before but Spark hadn’t thought anything of it. After all, she was new to the whole tribe thing where as the other two clearly knew what they were doing. She must’ve been intimidated by all the rules as she was a kittypet. Spark still couldn’t get rid of the lurking feeling of sadness about the fact he had lost his first tribemate. Briar had shrugged it off but his voice cracked a little, the two had been chatting that night if his ears hadn’t deceived him. Briar insisted he was just worried about how they was to manage on their own.

Moth wasn’t running away however. She wanted to help her tribe in however possible, even if it meant padding along the border at the first sign of a sun. She had noticed how Brair was fed up with teaching her how to behave like a tribe cat and how him and Duskseer mysteriously disappeared in the moon she had known them. A part of her wondered if they even saw her as a equal or just a annoying to-be. Which is why she was shivering in the steady snow fall, thankful for the fact her white forest coat had already grown in. She wondered how her family was doing. It had been awhile since she had seen her mother or father but Rosemary practically leaped for joy when the calico had told Moth about her younger siblings. She smiled faintly to herself before she realised she could barely feel the cold anymore.

In summery: Moth feels as though Briar and Spark are judging her because she wasn’t a natural wild cat and tries to prove she’s loyal to this tribe.

* Duskseer and Briar hunt with Duskseer also searching for any herbs that might have survived the snow.
* Moth patrols the borders.

The cold dark days kept everyone in their dens, including the newcomers, who were greeted with a "We already have 11 mouths to feed. I'm glad that one of them looks like they can hunt better than most of our guards and prey hunters. What can the other do?" from Streamteller. "Please! He is a good fighter!" Cloud said, defending her mate. "Prove it." Streamteller clacked her claws together, but it turned out that she wasn't the one fighting. Stone came out of her den and into the main part of the cave. The area was wide and clear, perfect for scrimmages.

After about 10~ minutes, the battle was over, and no one won. "It is true that Stone is our most diligent fighter and guard. You were able to endure and dodge her blows for more than ten minutes, which makes you a strong guard. Welcome to the Tribe." Streamteller dipped her head to the two new cats and left them to congratulate themselves. "Mommy! Who are they?" the kits said as they pointed at the two mates. "Pointing is rude Willow. These must be the new cats!" Frost said. She padded up to them. "Good morning, Fire and Flame. You must be the new cats. My name is Frost that Forms through the Night, and these are my kits: Willow. It will be my pleasure to show you around our Tribe!" she said as she smiled widely.

Sol looked over the she-cat as he meowed, "Who are you? What are you doing in our territory?" The she-cat mewed, "I'm Suni, and I just happened to be around." Sol narrowed his eyes and meowed, "This territory belongs to the Tribe of the Flowing Mist. Will you join us?" Pyobeom came back from gathering herbs as Suni said, "Yes, it was rather lonely on my own." The Teller of the Whispering Winds asked, dropping the herbs to the ground for a moment, "Who is this, Solbang-ul?" The Daejang Sanyang-ggun meowed politely, "This is Suni, Baram-sulsa. She says that she just 'happened to be around', but she is willing to join us." The brown tabby healer of the Tribe of the Flowing Mist scrutinized the she-cat for a few moments. Nodding satisfactorily, the tom meowed, "Come, we will show you back to camp. Tomorrow we will start your official duties as a gunsa, along with Wubak back home, who joined us earlier this morning." The she-cat mewed, "So it seems that we have separate roles in this group?" Paechi interrupted, "Tribe, and yes. There are sanyang-ggun like us, who hunt, and then there's gunsa, like you, who defend and patrol our borders." Pyobeom reminded them, "But we are wild cats; fighting against other predators or cats will mean the job of us all." Sol, Paechi, and Suni nodded, and the four cats headed back, picking up the fresh-kill and herbs they had hunted and gathered.

(Later that evening)
The Teller of the Whispering Winds stepped into the silent forest outside of his Tribe's camp. He listened to the breeze blowing around him, concentrating on the winds' whispering. Once he found what he was looking for, he declared, dipping his head three times to the east, "My esteemed josang-nim! I humbly ask of you to send our Tribe a fleet-pawed sanyang-ggun, so he or she may provide for our growing tribe!" Once his request was scattered to the winds, the brown tabby tom bowed his head, listening to the changes in the wind near him for any response.

Current Season: Winter- A steady snowfall falls to the ground in a cold, yet peaceful scene. Plenty of tribeless cats are spotted in the area, seeking a permanent home to shelter from the cold weather.

The Teller of the Whispering Winds stepped into the silent forest outside of his Tribe's camp. He listened to the breeze blowing around him, concentrating on the winds' whispering. Once he found what he was looking for, he declared, dipping his head three times to the east, "My esteemed josang-nim! I humbly ask of you to send our Tribe a fleet-pawed sanyang-ggun, so he or she may provide for our growing tribe!" Once his request was scattered to the winds, the brown tabby tom bowed his head, listening to the changes in the wind near him for any response.

"I have to say," said the big black tom that had joined them. "I really wasn't expecting to see anyone out here."
"Ah, that means it worked," Sandteller replied.
"What worked?" Spider asked.
"That we have remained hidden. Since our tribe is only small, it is good to be hidden. But as we grow, we may become noticed. That is the nature of the desert after all," she said.
"Yes, well... Who just explores a big hot desert?" the black tom snapped.
"But you were out there!" Minnow squeaked. He groaned.
"Anyway, as I said your name is now Shadow that Moves Slowly. Or just Shadow," Sandteller said, wrapping her tail around her paws.
"R-right..."
Shadow was hesitant to join at first but after Sandteller explained he became interested. Now, he had joined the tribe and it was only a couple moons now until he fitted in and got comfortable. After a hot lazy afternoon, the cats finally got up to do their duties.

Sol turned to Danpung, the newest sanyang-ggun, meowing, "Let's get you settled in, Danpung." The longhaired ginger-and-white tom nodded and meowed, "I'm ready to learn about all there is to be, Daejang." Nodding toward Paechi, the other sanyang-ggun, the daejang of the sanyang-ggun gave the signal to leave with his tail. Taking it as a cue, Paechi followed swiftly behind the tom, indicating for the new recruit to follow. Danpung marched behind him, his ears perked up in anticipation. A smaller gray shape appeared beside the three cats as the first suryeonja of the Tribe, Angae, trotted up to Sol. "You are my seuseung, Sol-ssaem. May I tag along to learn?" Sol glanced back at his group, who nodded at his unspoken question. Turning to Angae, he mewed sternly, "All right then. Keep up with us, and do not step out of line unless commanded to do so. Understood?" The gray she-cat nodded and mewed happily, "Will do!"

Wubak turned to his brown-furred companion, Suni, and meowed, "So, it looked like you know Solbang-ul?" Suni glanced back at the longhaired gray-and-white tom and meowed, her voice taut with tension, "I... did. A long time ago." She refused to divulge further, and Wubak was left staring at the disappearing figure of the she-cat. Hurrying to catch up to her, the gray-and-white gunsa asked, "Why? What happened?" Suni snapped, "You are all talk and no show are you, Wubak?" The gray-and-white tom flattened his ears at the insult and shot back, "Then at least tell me something, and stop sulking like that like you've been asked to talk about your ex-lover or something!" Suni flinched, as if someone had thrown a rock at her face, and stared at Wubak for a few moments. Wubak asked, blinking slowly, "...Did I say something wrong?" Suni shook her head, "It's... nothing. Look," she pointed out, "it was all over a long time ago, and I don't want to talk about it." Wubak sighed, "Yeah, right." The two cats continued to walk the rest of the patrol in silence afterwards.
