[ History ] The Empyrean's history stretches back centuries, to sometime around the start
of the Tang Dynasty. It was created by a child of an angel with the intent to serve as both
a meeting place and home for those with heavenly origins similar to his, and has withstood
decades of war and bloodshed. The emergence of new, otherworldly species drove the
leader to expand the city far beyond its original means, leading to the arrival of dozens of
citizens from around the world.

[ Territory ] The city is located in Yangshuo County, China, and remains unseen to the
mortal world by means of both magic and technology. The mountains surrounding it provide
an added level of defense from outsiders, though passageways through them exist in order
for inhabitants to reach the river just past the range. The weather is fairly hospitable, with
lows reaching around 43 degrees Fahrenheit at the lowest and highs reaching around 90.

[ Reputation ] The Empyrean's existence is widely debated among the non-human
community, with rumors surrounding it ranging from it being a place of torment to it
being the gateway to heaven. Those who care to take a closer look, however, will find
that the city is, at its core, everchanging and impossible to pin down to one description.
However, the leadership is known to be benevolent to most, even in times of violence.

[ Ardeki's patrol finds an animal caretaker in the company of a hunter! They are glad to join Aura Enclave after a hard few seasons of travel, and gift the patrol 11 yemons. ]
[ Thardoz's patrol comes across a feral dog that attacks the patrol due to the presence of birds! The villagers successfully beat back the dog and it runs away, whining and tail between its legs. As they start to head back, a pair of gatherers come running up, panting from exertion. As it turns out, that dog had been chasing after them until it became interested in the patrol, and the pair would very much like to join the village so they didn't have to worry about random dogs chasing them again. ]

As the lavender-haired woman paddled across the ocean, she felt like her arms were going to fall off. She could feel the wind sweeping the chilly ocean air into her face and felt as if she was going to throw up. After escaping her family feud of elves and dwarves coming in and taking over her parents cookie shop - apparently in college her mom had had an affair with a dwarf who was her dad's college roommate- but the dwarf had told his elven boyfriend he wanted an open relationship but her mom hadn't told her dad- even though they weren't even dating at the time?- She didn't really understand. Anyways, Lisa's brother had told her a hoard of leprechauns was coming to back up her dad's side, and she thought she'd better get out of there. Her older sister had pushed her off of the family's dock, and now she was canoeing across the sea. Sure, Lisa was feeling rotten, and cold, and really rather scared, but what she was most upset about was that her husband was still at home. For the longest time, his family had lived across the water-filled ravine from the cookie shop where Lisa and her family lived. They'd been childhood friends, but only recently got together. Lisa really missed him. They’d had plans together, to start a family and their own business, but due to these unforeseen circumstances it would not be the case.

She'd been stuck in her thoughts for so long that she barely noticed when the hastily made canoe hit against a skinny rock that was sticking out of the water. The rock poked the canoe and water bled through the birch. Lisa rolled her eyes in exhaustion - this was just her luck. She's not even skilled in canoeing- she was much more of a scouter or a gatherer. Anyway, she rolled out of the canoe and looked around at her surroundings. She could see a slim path from right to left. It was nighttime now, so it was harder to see above. She couldn’t even see any stars, except for when she looked over the roaring ocean. The stars there faded through the ghosty clouds and landed on her eyes. She stumbled across the path and ran into a hard stone wall - ouch! then turned to the left, although she was sure both directions led the same way. As she walked, keeping her hand on the wall, up and up and up she climbed, in a slight curve, as slowly stone turned to grass and steep turned to flat. She had made it. Although it was only a small accomplishment, in the long term she felt it would amount to much.

Lisa looked upon the territory she’d been given by the winds of the world and realized her earlier assumption was correct - she was atop a cliff. Down beneath her now was where her canoe had crashed, and across the other way was a dark forest, although only likely dark at the moment due to there being no sun in the sky and a new moon. She sat down to rest on a flat rock and decided she’d better rest there for the night - no use moving now.

She'd better explore the territory if she's to stay a while! Lisa goes hunting, gathering, scouting, and to explore the borders.
