indentZhiquta kept her head bowed, whispering a unaudible thank you to her ancestors. The bengal trusted that her great panther ancestors had heard her cries, though it would not cease her mind, which questioned if they would summon a talented herbalist and grant her with one.

The soft rustling of leaves from behind her had awakened her senses, and the she cat raised her head slowly, turning her body to face the noise. Her set of jade orbs focused on the silver pelt of a cat as they wove through the tangle of vines that were strung from a tree, gracefully pouncing from one branch to another as they made their way to the base of the tree.
indentOnce safely landing to the ground, the cat advanced towards Zhiquta. They walked slowly, eyes trained upon the she cat infront of them with a transfixed gaze.

Zhiquta observed them, her gaze guarded with speculation before watching the tom drop to the ground, presumably bowing before her.

With a single word, she then moved to the base of the nearest tree, agilely climbing up it. Illanthu watched as she gracefully reached one of the highest branches before following her.

during newleaf, kittings will run much smoother and the chances of the queens or kits dying during birth will go down dramatically. there is also a higher chance that you will catch more prey than usual. the chances of catching greencough, whitecough and kittencough will go down. with all the snow melting, it is very likely that your territory will start flooding. there will also be more storms that will contribute to the flooding. the odds of finding new cats is very high.

My Clan is Meadowclan. Descended from barn cats, their territory spans several fields of two neighbouring farms sort of in the East Midlands of England. They move their camp depending on the season - during the winter they live in the lambing shed of the sheep farm, whilst in the spring and summer they move outside and live among the wheat fields until the harvest. The queens, kits and ill cats usually stay in the barns rather than deal with the changeability of the English "summer" time.

Meadowclan cats have relaxed the sections of the warrior codes that relate to humans and human settlements and will happily steal milk and food left out for too long. Thus, to distinguish themselves from and prove that they are better than house-cats and common strays, they place a great importance on names, using a much more traditional system than a lot of other clans; with the prefixes relating to colour and suffixes relating to the skills of the cats. They also place a lot of importance on history. Elders are consulted on prophecies and signs as much as the leader and are used as a council to elect the next deputy. They are also the ones who give apprentices their final assessment, after the mentor and deputy have given their approval.

Kits become apprentices not at six moons exactly, but at the next Change Of Seasons (when the Clan moves from one camp to the other) They must be at least four moons old, but could end up being almost a year old. This is to prevent new apprentices from trekking through the territory alone. The ceremonies take place whilst the clan is at the winter camp, either before or after the Change. Warriors are made throughout the year, and take their vigils at the lambing shed.

Stories focus on groups and individual names and descriptions are usually lost fairly quickly in favour of descriptions matching kits listening - to inspire them to similar acts of bravery and devotion. They do have a couple of consistent heroes - mostly from ancient stories about the founders.

Meadowclan are surprising lax about borders, far more likely to let strangers off with a warning than a clawed ear. In Harvest months when there is a surplus of prey they have even let other Clans keep catches from close to the edge of their territory rather than bother with a fight. They are sleek and well-fed, taking advantage of the farms' buildings and feed stores to find mice year-round. They are excellent hunters of mice and rats; and skilled at hunting rabbits and hares, although most warriors won't hare-hunt in springtime.

Lightberry had been a bit skittish these days. She had been nauseous and more hungry than usual. She herself knew something was up but she was just too oblivious at the moment and too paranoid. Lightberry was lying down in her nest. Salmonpaw entered the den and his mentor perked up when seeing him. "Yo what's up my little leaping fish?" She asked. "I'm here to check on you. I know enough now to see what's going on with you." He grunted out before starting the inspection. When he was done, Salmonpaw was more than furious. "Why did I get a mentor like you? You're pregnant! You're not supposed to be! I'm going to tell Batstar about you!" He yowled out. Lightberry backed up a bit now terrified. Her rank could be removed, everything. Even Reedfire was on the line. Oh dear. "Please don't tell anyone okay? Come on please you can do this for me little bud right?" She pleaded. Salmonpaw softened his gaze. He couldn't stay mad at her for long. "I... suppose so. Fine. Just know that you're going to have to give your newborn kits to another cat until they are ready to become an apprentice. Sunsplash will have her kits be two moons old when you have yours. I'll give her some herbs to keep the milk supply up so she can raise your kits." The apprentice explained. Lightberry' eyes lit up before she nuzzled the young tom almost crying. Even if he didn't want to admit it, a small smile appeared on Salmonpaw.

"Hey look, I made this for you Weasely." Foxblaze meowed through a jaw full of flowers tied together with grass in a ring shape. He put it on her head and smiled when getting a bright grin from the she cat. "I love it! H-How did you make it?" Weaseltuft asked. "Well it's a long sort but lets save that for another day." He chuckled before nuzzling her. "You know, you're very gorgeous. I just thought you should know that." Foxblaze mumbled. "B-Beautiful? You sure you have the right she cat?" Foxblaze nodded back. "But I'm not I'm... just trash. I don't even know why you like me." She replied back. "I like you because you are you. You don't change yourself for others and to me, you're always gorgeous. Harepaw, Shadepaw, and Mousepaw were lying beside a tree outside of the camp. There were tensions between Shadepaw and Harepaw due to the fact they both liked Mousepaw. "Shadepaw, I challenge you to a race! Whoever climbs the tree the fastest wins okay?" Harepaw spoke up, bouncing up onto his paws. "Oh you're on!" Shadepaw laughed back before the two got on opposite sides of the tree. Mousepaw looked over and immediately got worried. "Please don't fall guys!" She pleaded. The two toms raced up the tree. Shadepaw being more muscular climed up quicker. Harepaw tried harder and started to catch up to the other tom. He was going to impress her. Mousepaw would for sure want him now! Harepaw was getting ready to pass Shadepaw until he lost his grip. His face smashed into the tree causing unbalance with all his paws and with that, he tumbled to the ground.

Weather: The snow that blanketed every inch of your territory has now begun to melt, rapidly. This has caused flooding in most areas and can be dangerous to the dens in your camps. Prey has now become abundant as their dens filled with water and pushed them out to search for a new home and more food. Predators are also out and about and can pose a threat if they are not dealt with immediately. Kittings will run much smoother as well and the chance of sickness has died down. Watch out for mud and rivers!

Songclan camp was flooded. Of course, Silverstar didn’t mind. She loved the water. But the she-cat was a tad worried, worried how this might prevent her deputy from coming. If they even came at all, if StarClan had even heard her request.

Silverstar’s train of thought was interrupted by a splash, a cat who came through the waterfall. She turned, examining the newcomer. ”Who are you?” her mew was quiet, judging. She could tell the new cat was nervous, his tail flicking and paws fidgeting. ”Thorn,” came the reply, voice shaking ever so slightly. Silverstar could tell. She could tell he was trying to mask his fear. But really, the tom had nothing to fear. Unless, of course, he was an enemy.

”Thorn? Where do you come from? Why did you come here?”

”I used to have an owner. Then I had a... a dream. These... cats, telling me to follow the river. And here I am.”

Silverstar studied him, mildly amused. This must be the deputy she had asked for, even though he was a kittypet. She murmured a quiet thanks to StarClan, noticing how this... Thorn... did not mind the water.

”Well, you’ll need a proper clan name. Thornheart.”

”It’s a nice name,” Thornheart agreed, mew genuine.

The two cats had arrived at the Spirit Lake, as per SongClan tradition. ”Give me your paw,” Silverstar instructed. As soon as Thornheart did, she unsheathed a claw and cut his paw pad.”Ow! What the he—“

”Put your paw into the water. Your wounded one.”

Nervously, Thornheart did what his leader asked, blood mixing into the water for only a minute before it was washed away. When he lifted his paw, the wound had disappeared, leaving only a small, white scar.

”See, it’s not so bad.”

”Sure. Whatever.”

Back at the camp, Silverstar was giving orders. ”Thornheart, I’d like you to go on a border patrol. Bring any friendly seeming cats to me. Chase the aggressive ones off. I’ll go hunt.

Thornheart was about to respond when a cat burst through the waterfall, two tiny bundles in her mouth. The she-cat was clearly expecting to find an empty cave, and she hissed at the cats, putting the kits down. ”Don’t hurt them!” she meowed, kits looking around curiously.

”We weren’t going to.”

A soft wind blew through the cave.

”StarClan approves. You can stay if you want.”

To say the least, Swandust was confused. These cats were obsessed with things that sparkled - Nightstar strut his way into camp carrying a particularly shiny pebble that morning - and they chatted away like magpies. Obsessed with who did what, where, why and how. Swandust herself preferred to.. not.. be such a gossip. She kept to herself and she quite liked it that way. Which is why when Nightstar had declared that she would be the mentor of the ever precious Silentpaw she'd mentally rejoiced. Silentpaw was just like her - quiet, unconcerned the usual events of camp, and generally shy. The two had touched noses very lightly and Silentpaw had let out a squeak of a giggle. No matter how shy, all kits were thrilled to become apprentices.

"So.. um.." the newly named apprentice muttered to her mentor, "Will we be doing anything today?"

Swandust purred, "We will. But I have to go out and hunt for a moment first - with so few warriors I can't afford to let us go hungry." Silentpaw opened her mouth but Swandust shook her head, "Trust me, you'll get to join me eventually, just not yet." With a quick lap of her tongue over the apprentice's head the warrior left and began her hunt.
