Team RedConch shells, sand dollars, snail shells, starfish, and washed up abalone speckles the sand in all sorts of colors. Zero was particularly drawn to the small obsidian abalone, one that best matches the tar dripping from the pointed mushroom caps along their back. To’Khan was distracted with the giant washed up starfish sitting on the beach, it uh, hey did any other raptor notice this? No? The shells were too pretty on the ground, huh? Well alright then. Giant starfish aside, Dodger was dealing with a very grumpy hermit crab, and
Nero’s sand angel was disturbed by the sharp pain of a conch tip digging into her tail. It looked pretty enough, so she attempted to pick it up, but something wasn’t quite right. It didn’t come up off the sand like a normal shell would with such force.
Perhaps a little buried, she thought, brushing aside the sand, only to find the shell widening with no end in sight. This conch in particular is actually
ginormous. So gigantic, one raptor couldn’t possibly dig it out alone.
The others regrouped and through a fit of curiosity, helped unearth the shell from the sand (Carl did the most digging given the number of arms he has. Not to brag, I’m just narrating these stats). It was just large enough to fit on a raptors back like a fancy decoration. Sure, they were all still without snacks and water, but at least they had a cool gigantic shell to haul around instead. Maybe, just maybe it’s also a magic conch. Remember when SpongeBob and Patrick wished for food and a whole buffet was dropped on them five seconds later? Yes… Yes! It just might work. Or if there are better wishes to be granted, it’s worth asking about those too. You all already look silly standing next to the giant shell, talking to it isn’t any stranger at this point.
Team BlueThe sea of flowers undulates in the wind, a cloud of pollen particles is gently whisked away. It’s clear most of these flowers, given their quantity and the steady breeze of the valley, are a result of some extravagant cross pollination. The shapes and colors varied so much from any garden back at home. Except for that single dandelion. That’s weird. Maybe someone should eat it and eliminate the one thing that’s normal here. The hidey bush Lavender found was one of many colorful shrubs scattered across the meadow, the two toned leaves moved in gradients of varying colors. Red to yellow. Orange to blue. Pink to white. Quite lovely.
Strawdazzle found something quite extraordinary, however. Blue jagged petals and orange pollen centers, this flower was very interesting among the rest, especially in shape. What use did a flower have of lightning shaped petals? They were long, thin, and flowy, like tassels. Most petals were very fragile and soft, but these were waxy, and shiny, not easily plucked from the stem. Fascinating.
The midday sun was starting to climb away, and there was still a whole meadow to traverse, so as beautiful and tranquil as this place was, it was time to hop aboard the ant and scurry forward. These rolling hills were pleasant at least, nothing too steep and tiring to slow your mount down. And! No sign of that terror bird again, that’s always good. Somewhere along the way, surrounded by so many colors and shapes, a game of I Spy inevitably begins among the group to pass the time.
Team YellowAsh shakes his head.
Heck. No. There was no way anyone was dumb enough to… Ailani and
Maven disappear, zipping down the icy slide into the depths of the ice caves. Unfortunately, shivering alone out here wasn’t really an option now. Begrudgingly, Ash will have to join the rest. Ailani squawks about finding glittering ice crystals and gemstones, even as it becomes clear the cavern is tunneled out smoothly, as if large amounts of water had carved through. The walls were satisfyingly slick with zero jagged edges. Err, well they were before Maven started hastily burrowing through it all like some wild animal. To, uh, everyone’s horror, the armadillo raptor returns with a
bug. A frozen, hibernating bug they plucked from deep within the walls to bring with the group. A snack they say. A possible parasite, say the rest. For now, it’s frozen solid, and doesn’t seem to be much of a problem at all. All I can say as a humble spectator is good luck.
The caverns tunnel around, an uneasy feeling begins to set in as many of the branches seem to just tunnel right into darkness, or deeper with no actual guarantee you’ll ever resurface. Have any of you seen the cave diver memes? Heed my warning, do not go sliding deeper! Ash is the reasonable one, having to drag Ailani back from several of the downward holes, all the while screeching about an imaginary crystal stash she must find. It takes everything to get the group to cooperate forward. Funnily enough, what ended up uniting the group’s brain cells (or lack thereof) was the way the ice started reflecting your raptor bodies. Big noses, tiny eyes, thick tails, one little movement could squash or stretch the figure to exaggerated degrees. Finding a way out could wait a moment. This was probably the only ice for miles that had become transparent enough to warp your features so extremely.

Which group have you decided to follow?
Once you have made a decision, this is the group and path color you will remain with for the entirety of this minigame. If you are joining late, you still need to pick one colored path and you’ll answer the current prompt for that group. Numbers indicate which rounds folks participated in, there may be collective round compensation at the end of this game, participation counts!

For prompts, see next post below. This map and below info is where you’ll check back for the next task after each update. The information above the map will be updated as well with some descriptive lore and based on winning decisions, shape your journey. Think of this game as a choose your own adventure with open ended prompts instead of multiple choice. I the narrator will adapt to your group decisions. Good luck adventurers!
