❧ ❧ ❧ There is a wide, wide world out there, especially for little cats seeking an Adventure. Catshee of all paths Adventure frequently, though this does not mean the same for every catshee. Every Calling has its own advantages and disadvantages; while a farmer's adventure may be slow, hard work leading to great fulfillment, a rogue may find their adventures quick, dangerous, and enriching (of a sort). Whatever a catshee's path, they may find great fortune—or great failure.

❧ ❧ ❧ Catshee may adventure alone, or together in a band of up to 4 catshee. Catshee traveling together can work off of each other's talents and gain some extra experience in doing so, and take advantage of curios that help the whole band. With that in mind, certain Callings work better together than others. Bad luck, for example, has a way of making itself... contagious.

❧ ❧ ❧ If you do not have a catshee or are adventuring with only 1 or 2 catshee, there are also strange, powerful catshee in Avalon known as Archfey. You may ask an Archfey of your choice for a favor once per Turn. Archfey are fickle creatures, though, and while some may be happy to help, others carry great risk in the requests you can ask of them.

❧ ❧ ❧ Prettying Up. Adventuring posts can be prettied up as much as you like, as long as it has the necessary information available. However, try to keep away from hard-to-read content (overly bright text, distracting gifs, or very small text), just for the mods' eyes' sake please! Keep in mind when decorating your Adventuring post that failing to provide necessary information can lead to a form getting skipped (though we will let you know if it is, and why).

❧ ❧ Once per Turn, you can send up to 4 catshee on an Adventure. These cats can Adventure alone, or all together in a Band. All catshee in a Band will gain 5 base EXP for travelling together, but unlucky catshee can, rarely, ruin the Adventure for everyone! Some items only effect individual catshee or whole Bands, as well.

❧ ❧ You may also include a small RP prompt when you set off on an Adventure. Here, you can detail your catshee's adventure; their Calling's specific flavor, setting, and goals are all up to you. If your catshee are Banding Together, you can describe how their personalities play off of each other or if there are any relationships (good or bad) forming between them. This is completely optional, but Quest Masters (moderators) will provide RP sections back (as long as time allows) and there may be certain rewards for well-written Adventures in the form of Inspiration.

❧ ❧ While all rewards are randomly generated, Adventure posts with RP prompts will have unique flavor to their rewards.

When Adventuring, catshee can gain Experience Points (EXP) to upgrade their Calling's Level. All catshee start out at Level 1 (0 EXP) with their chosen Calling. If their Calling is ever changed, through tomes or changing ownership, they are reset back to 0 EXP. Their total EXP determines a catshee's level; EXP does not reset upon level-up.

A catshee may never gain more than 1 Level per Turn, and only the amount of EXP needed to get to the next level. Example: a level 1 catshee uses a Well-Written Manual to gain 30 EXP, but due to the level 2's 15-EXP cap they will end the Turn with Level 2 (15 EXP) total

❧ ʟᴇᴠᴇʟ ᴍɪʟᴇꜱᴛᴏɴᴇꜱ ☙

• Extra Adventure. On the adventure where this catshee reaches level 3, another adventure reward is rolled in addition to the normal reward.
• Hidden Milestone. Will unlock when certain conditions are met

• Extra Adventure. On the adventure where this catshee reaches level 3, another adventure reward is rolled in addition to the normal reward.
• Improved Inheritance. This catshee has a +5% chance to pass down non-event traits when nesting.

❧ Level 9

• Improved Rewards. As Level 9 catshee no longer roll EXP rewards, they have higher chances of obtaining valuable curios or very unique rewards.
• Improved Inheritance. This catshee has a +8% chance to pass down all traits when nesting.
• Mentoring Leader. A Level 9 catshee Banding Together with other catshee provides them 10 EXP instead of the usual 5 EXP for Banding Together. If the Level 9 catshee shares a Calling with any of the other adventuring catshee, this bonus is 15 EXP instead.

❧ (Optional) Retirement

A fully-leveled catshee can choose to retire. Retirement is permanent and irreversible, even if the catshee changes ownership or is surrendered to the Wayward. When Retired, a catshee cannot change or upgrade their Calling, nor will they be able to partake in Adventuring any longer. However, they do gain the following traits:

• Last Hurrah. The adventure a catshee Retires in will always give 25 EXP to all catshee that are Banded Together, and another adventure reward is rolled in addition to the normal reward.
  
• Improved Inheritance. A Retired catshee has a +25% chance to pass down all traits when nesting.
• Additional Nesting. A Retired catshee gains 1 extra nesting slot, up to 4 total
• Spoils of Adventure. A Retired catshee's nests may have the Scrying Mirror curio applied for free.
To a retire a Level 9 catshee, state "Retiring" under the Calling, Level & EXP section of the Adventuring form.

When a catshee or a band Adventure every turn, there are many potential results. These results are affected by their Calling; many paths are just better at doing or finding certain things than others! While in almost all cases, any Calling can obtain any item through Adventuring (though with much different chances), there are a couple of small exceptions. These exceptional rewards are currently hidden until their discovery.

Each Calling has six stats to describe how much their chances differ from the base chance to get each reward. Two of these stats are currently hidden.

❧ ᴘᴏᴛᴇɴᴛɪᴀʟ ʀᴇꜱᴜʟᴛꜱ ☙

• Experience Points. Catshee use Experience Points to progress their level. A catshee can gain anywhere from 5 to 100 EXP when they roll this reward.
• Fortunes. During their travels and day-to-day catshee may find Fortunes, which can be sold for ♤ Spades at Flea's Market. These Fortunes - which can be anything, from precious jewelry to a good story - can be worth anywhere from 5♤ to 40♤ each.
• Detriments. Unlucky catshee's adventures may result in a Detriment, preventing adventuring progress. Detriments can range anywhere from slight, which only affects their personal rewards, to severe, which can ruin a whole band's adventure or cause lasting ailments. Special charms can ward off a detriment's likelihood.
• Curios. Rarely, a catshee might find a Curio, a very special find! These useful items can be used for nesting, adventuring, or even inviting new catshee to join you. If they're not to your fancy, though, you can also sell them back to the Market, where they're usually worth a pretty penny.
• Hidden Result. This result will be unlocked once a catshee has gotten the reward for the first time! All Callings have an equal chance to roll this result.

• Touchstones. Only Apprentices can find Touchstones. For a young catshee to come of age, they must find their Touchstone, and many apprentices set off on journeys to find theirs. These can vary in rarity, and throughout an adventure an apprentice may find several Touchstones that speak with them. However, only one will be their lifetime choice.

ʜɪɢʜ ᴅᴇɴɪᴢᴇɴꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴀᴠᴀʟᴏɴ

Strange, powerful catshee that roam Avalon, the Archfey may guide as well as they may misdirect. Be wary requesting favours of them... or at least choose wisely. You may ask a favor of a specific Archfey once per Turn, as long as no more than two of your catshee are going out on an Adventure. You can even do this if you do not own any catshee (though you must have a post on our Archive). While the Archfey may not give you a reward every Turn, if you're lucky, you may be blessed with something valuable.

Not all Archfey give the same rewards. Some specialize in specific fortunes or curios. However, Archfey that may offer you valuable items usually come with a price. Beware these Archfey; they may promise great rewards but, if you are unlucky, they can ruin your adventure for the Turn.

C04-000 Dwi ✧ Intelligent & Observant, Antisocial & Aloof to a Fault

Be on your best behavior if you wish to impress this Archfey. They will hear your call, but heeding it is a different story. They have seen and know much. Maybe with a bit of luck they will impart some of that knowledge onto you.

But know that, in many cases, behind the businesslike politeness, you are being judged.

Lazarus is a ancient well of knowledge that may be shared to catshee who dares to toss their coin within. Good fortune comes to those who bow their heads and pay their dues; knowledge of times past or how bend destiny to one's own advantage. But offer wisely, and to his tastes, or you invite cataclysmic disaster. This is not a cat to be crossed.

C13-000 Dandelion ❁ Polite, Sociable, & Very Easily Distracted

This lanky Archfey tends to prance around with an air of nervous excitement about him, eager to conversate and hard not to become the captive audience of. He is very friendly and will introduce you to his other acquaintances or provide well-meaning but ill-thought-through advice if it's what you need, but is prone to getting lost or... otherwise preoccupied.

C42-000 Trinity ❁ Social, Preppy, Very Opinionated

An Archfey with a love for water, a little bit of gossip and a knack collecting shiny little sunken trinkets. Trinity takes their Archfey status very seriously, though they don't seem the type at a first glance. They've got a lot of useful information and some neat little baubles they've collected over the years, but whether they'll be willing to tell you anything helpful or give you something you might need, is entirely based on how you act or treat them. Or their mood that day.

A Calling is not a catshee's job─it is their way of life. It is how they find food and a warm bed for themselves, how they make friends and family. Catshee take up all sorts of Callings, from mundane to adventurous; some catshee desire most the life of a common cat, curling up by fires and stalking prey through a forest or urban jungle. Some are leaders and nobles, while others are common farmers or workers. Some catshee prefer more explorative lives, as wizards or combatants or traveling musicians. And some... well, some just ran off with your wallet.

Though the vast majority of farmers work their own lands, some are hunters, nomadic gatherers, or odd-job-working farmpaws.

Healers are catshee that have sworn to help others, or have found themselves doing it anyway. Doctors, witches, clerics, and caretakers can all consider themselves healers, protecting the ill and injured while they cannot protect themselves. Most healers tend to stay in familiar territory, but some venture to assist others wherever they may find them.

Some fighters march under the banner of a kingdom, others the mantle of their ideals, some to protect their family, and even those that simply enjoy the thrill of combat. Whatever their reasoning, fighters are steadfast cats and often not to be reckoned with.

There is the occasional honor among thieves, but they truly are all sorts, from harmless, mischievous fey to crass bandits and refined heist thieves. Though the consequences of their actions always nip at their tail, they stay one step ahead... as long as they don't stumble.
