Hero blinked in complete shock as he saw Edgar dash by. Was that really Edgar? It couldn't be, this cat was bright yellow and orange and blue. But then a raven swooped by, and the cat's scent was familiar. it WAS Edgar. What in the world??

Edgar said he would explain later, and Hero huffed. He better explain later. Better explain why he had hidden his true form, and why hiss feathers were in a box, and what the deal was with that burned tent that had feathers (apparently Edgar's feathers) all around it. What was Edgar doing? And why had he done it?

Hero eyed Poe too, half expecting the little black raven to also suddenly burst into colors. But Poe didn't change colors or shape, just kept flying, with that mischievous look in his eyes. Hero liked birds, but he was a little suspicious of Poe. Especially after than day when the raven had disappeared.

But Hero didn't have time to dwell on all that, he had a battle to fight, so he turned and trotted back towards the library he had been heading to. He had research to do, scrolls to read, things to investigate. This would have to wait. [203]
