Zeke stares at the bright cat, his first thoughts only of relief.
"Edgar! You're ok!"
He runs up to the cat, who slinks back in surprise. At his faltering, Zeke realizes that his reaction to the cat's stunning coat may be a bit different than most lions would react.

Because it is very odd. Shimmering in the soft light, Edgar's brilliant fur in flaming hues stands out in stark contrast to Poe's black feathers. And it all makes sense now, Zeke thinks as it clicks. Standing this close to Edgar, he can feel the heat radiating off the cat. That's why the tent was burned down! He feels even more relief with this knowledge. Edgar isn't as irresponsible as he had thought. Edgar's just... well, can he really be... a phoenix?

Zeke tilts his head, considering Edgar. His strange behavior would make sense with this conclusion, but can cats even be like those mythical birds? And if so, how does that even work? Edgar's still here clear as day and from Zeke's knowledge, phoenixes restart their lives completely after they burn.

But Zeke doesn't let his mind wander too much. Edgar will answer all his questions soon. So why let himself dwell on things that will be soon discovered?

When things had gotten especially dangerous, the last voice that Ghost would have ever expected called out to her. The warning allowed her to dodge the incoming attack with only a moment to spare, and when she did so, she jumped backward many paces. In the open space, members from the Celestial Heavens leapt forward.

"Edgar?" Ghost inquired, unable to stop herself from doing so. That was certainly whom the voice belonged to, although the cat's appearance did not match the last version of him that she had laid her eyes on. But, then again, the hero did not look the same as she had before, either. So who was she to judge?

She had sprouted feathers, horns, and wings since they last time they had met, and then some. So seeing his coat having gone from black and white to the bright, colorful one that it was now was hardly alarming. Perhaps his body changed, too, or maybe he had simply disguised himself earlier on.

In fact, it made a little more sense now. Those last feathers that she found, they seemed to match up with Edgar's feathers, although that made her confused about what had happened to the tent that had caught fire.

"Make sure to tell me later. Take care of yourself, so you can, when the time comes."
