—————Muerte's sight for sore eyes—————

Muerte sighed. The sun was already beginning to paint the sky an orange, red hue. He was scheduled to have his Open Agility course in half an hour. How was he suppose to cross the entire obstacle course with the decreasing visibility? His other competitors were at the waiting stands, some just as nervous as him, whimpering to their owners.
Muerte looked up to his. She gave a reassuring smile and a pet.
"Don't worry, boy. They'll do something about the daylight saving's. If not, you've got your own eyes. Have some faith. We've practiced enough of this obstacle. I'm sure you can pass. You don't want to fall behind Murcielago, now do you?" His owner said.
Being on the receiving end of Murcielago's endless teasing was the last thing Muerte wanted. His eyes flared with determination, chest puffed out. He was ready.
The sky was dim and the lights surrounding the obstacles were lit but weren't as bright as anticipated. Regardless, Muerte calmed himself. He has been trained to learn how to cross each and every obstacle. The whistle sounded. He opened his eyes and bolted off. He flew over the hurdles, muscle memory assisting him in gauging how high he had to jump. He dashed through the tunnel, zipping across the poles and concurring the see-saw. Muerte was on fire. He was shocked himself but carried on. He was actually able to see decently despite the now dark sky. He could faintly make out some twinkling stars above. It was a beautiful evening. A beautiful evening to win.

Prompt - Satori AX

Satori pitied the other collies. They seemed nervous, unsure of the fast approaching darkness. It was true, the course looked different in this light. More ominous and dangerous. To some dogs, this change would be too much to handle, and he was expecting at least one to need some heavy encouragement from its owner.
But Satori? He thrived in the darkness. Before joining the kennels it was all he knew, the twisted shadows a comfort. Daylight wasn't preferable, the harsh light hurting his eyes and warming his dark pelt to an uncomfortable temperature. But now, with an orange glow on the horizon and the course a silhouette, Satori was in his element.
He'd never been overly interested in competing, preferring to practice at home where he could have fun without prying eyes. So he'll admit, he'd never tried as hard as he could. But watching the collies around him tripping over their own paws, the need to show off swept over him. This battle was on his territory, and he couldn't lose.
With his eyes quickly adjusting and his practiced skill of telling objects apart from their shadows, Satori was sure he wouldn't miss a single jump. All he had to do was be fast enough.

Writing for Margot.

What was that smell?

Margot already felt uneasy as she trotted alongside her handler, muzzle firmly in place upon her snout. She had been getting better with her same sex aggression, but they didn't like to take any chances. Why would you, anyway? In their early trialing days, other owners and even a judge or two had looked on in disdain. Margot had proven herself time and time again, though: she was an excellent dog, powerful and witty - just had a tiny bit of an ingrained aggression. It went without saying that now-a-days, she'd get a few looks from newbies but most just watched the cervus girl in the muzzle pad on through.

Oh, there it was again! That smell! She curled her lip in disgust. It reminded her, faintly, of her owner's chickens at home. She actually didn't mind looking after chickens, but their smell drove her insane. It wasn't really purely chicken scent, though. It was something else... She peered into the agility course, eyes lighting up. That was a big chicken! It looked like it had wandered onto the course by accident - one of the staff members was trying to catch it.

"A turkey seems to have gotten loose on the agility track, folks. Are any of the dogs here to trial also proficient in herding? We could really use it!" The loudspeaker boomed in a bid for help.

Margot looked up at her handler, and he looked down at her and grinned. "C'mon, girl, just like at home, let's help these people out," he led her into the agility pen, telling the officials she'd be able to handle it after having experience with similar livestock. As soon as the lead was unclipped, Margot sprung into action. She'd spent over half of her time trialing in the herding ring; she knew how to handle things like this with ease. It didn't take her long at all to coax the gigantic chicken into a nearby kennel.

"Good job, Margot. Way to handle that turkey," her handler rubbed behind her ears, earning a soft pant from her. Then she remembered she wasn't here to herd. She wearily looked at the agility course. Oh, brother.
