Name of the Clan your cat/group is going to: highgarden
Which group are you trying out for: group 4 - beetlewing & specklefang
How will this group fit into your Clan?:
beetlewing and specklefang have faced tragedy after tragedy together, as a team. from losing their family in thistleclan to serving as witnesses to swallowclan's hardships, the siblings have managed to stay together and forge a bond stronger than many others. so, it was only natural that they would stick together after swallowclan was torn apart. as friends and family members fought to hold their loved ones close, specklefang and beetlewing found each other and didn't let the other out of their sight. even at night, when they found minimal rest in their travels, specklefang barely slept, keeping one eye open to watch over her brother, and beetlewing found comfort in walking side by side with his sister. together, and only together, they believed that they would see the next morning. they balanced one another, the hunter and the fighter. where beetlewing was nervous and shy, specklefang was outgoing and bold; where specklefang stumbled, beetlewing was steady and sure-footed. they kept each other safe, and it was a only a matter of time until they met up with a group of traveling rogues.
without another home to call their own, it seemed only right to stay with the rogues for a short time. the siblings could carry their own weight, and they were offered shelter in return. much like the clans that beetlewing and specklefang had been born into, the rogues kept a camp full of cats from various stages of life. queens and kits were cared for by the other members, and specklefang and beetlewing grew fond of their new denmates. when asked where they were headed, they replied that they wanted to find their family. they said that they had a littermate and parents who, they believed, were still alive... somewhere. in turn, the rogues told the siblings of their plans to claim a home in the middle of a valley of flowers. the experienced members of the group mentioned stories of clan who lived there, who robbed the group of a queen, and how several of the group's former members had turned against their own to join the clan. to beetlewing and specklefag, who had seen so much hardship, regarded these stories with horror. how could a clan be so brutal and ferocious to a group just trying to find a safe place to call their own?
as moons passed, beetlewing became close friends with a fellow hunter and high-ranking member of the group who was called foxtrot. meanwhile, specklefang was assigned to help secure the group's camp and the borders. her fighting skills earned the quick respect of the group, and beetlewing was regarded for his speed and agility. however, in private, the siblings noted the strange occurances. beetlewing noticed how foxtrot and another hunter whispered urgently to one another, and specklefang was unnerved by the way other fighters mentioned run-ins with the clan. just as quickly as they thought of the group as a home, they saw that they had been mystified; perhaps it was not as welcoming as they originally believed. so, when foxtrot disappeared from the camp and the group took notice of the messenger's desertion, beetlewing and specklefang began to plan their own escape. however, right before they could, the camp was attacked, and beetlewing recognized foxtrot as one of the assailants. specklefang was called on to defend the camp and attack the intruders, though she was horrified when the other fighters killed two of the clan cats. it was then that specklefang and beetlewing agreed that they couldn't delay. the same night, when the group was still gathering back together, they fled into the shadows, believing that both sides were entirely wrong. specklefang wanted to flee from the valley, but beetlewing hesitated. he couldn't yet believe that foxtrot was out of line, and he wanted to meet his friend once more.
despite specklefang's protests, beetlewing convinced her to give him a chance, and they waited to find foxtrot once more, when they were told his side of the story. foxtrot told the siblings about highgarden, the clan he fled to. he told them about their queen and the moons of fighting that had started long before they arrived in the valley. foxtrot implored them to visit the clan and meet the other cats who fled from the rogues. he said that highgarden could use cats like beetlewing and specklefang to survive the imminent war that was on the horizon.
they found a much warmer picture than the one that had been originally painted. despite the bleak circumstances, specklefang and beetlewing were met with cats who managed to smile and offer kind greetings. whereas the rogue group had portrayed prosperity and high aspirations, highgarden was real. beetlewing was convinced after hearing waxwing and veerypath speak on their experiences with the rogue group, and specklefang was drawn by the empathy she felt from meeting other clan cats, who earnestly hoped that the war would end without bloodshed, though they all knew that the truth would be beyond their dreams.
in highgarden, beetlewing and specklefang would maintain their strong bond, while also branching out to meet others and share in their pain with others who knew loss and tragedy just as well. beetlewing and foxtrot would be reunited, and foxtrot would teach beetlewing how to be a skilled messenger during the war. specklefang, meanwhile, would continue to sharpen her fighting skills, but she would be softened from witnessing death in the rogue group. she will be integral in honing the skills of highgarden's fighters, and she would work closely with ashfire and bluetcrest in delegating tasks. the pair would be well-trusted and given room to grow in the clan, in the moment of need, and well beyond.
