WELCOME to the Smitten Kittens shelter! There are always going to be kittens that don't get adopted during our weekly raffle for numerous reasons - most of them are just too cute! But we still want to make sure that they go to a good home, because at Smitten Kittens, nobody gets left behind. That's why Stella decided to open the Smitten Kittens shelter! Kittens are either left over from users that can't participate anymore, left over from weekly litters, or discovered by our rescue team! All adoptions are FREE, but there is a process to make sure that everyone goes to a good home. Please keep reading for some guidelines that everyone must follow for a smooth and safe adoption. Thank you for your interest in Smitten Kittens!
ADOPTING:
GUIDELINES are here to help you with the adoption process! PLEASE read them so you're not clueless to how this works (it's pretty simple!).
- β’ This is a "first come, first serve" system - meaning that whoever posts first for a kitten will be the one to get it (assuming that all guidelines and rules are followed). Do not reserve a spot on the thread. I will know, and I will ignore your form if you do.
β’ You MUST fill out a form for a kitten, there are no exceptions!
β’ You may adopt one kitten per week!
β’ Understand that I'm not online 24/7, so I will announce when a kitten is no longer available for adoption, when I see it.
β’ Please be respectful to the other staff and I - understand that you can't always get you want, but you will always have a chance.

- HOW TO ADOPT: If you read the guidelines, then you should know that you MUST fill out a form to adopt! It's a simple form with a couple of general questions, it shouldn't take more than a minute or two to fill out! Then you'll be one step closer to your kitten!

β’ This is COPPA friendly, and all rules will apply to COPPA players, apart from the form.
β’ In the place of a form, you MUST send me a trade from this group for a cat named 'SK adopt.'
β’ If you end up being the first one out of those posting forms and other COPPA players, I'll make an announcement here with your ownership to the kitten.
β’ Please don't pretend to be a COPPA player.. I can see it on your profile,and the form isn't that tiring to fill out.
- DONATING A KITTEN:
Smitten Kittens now allows people to pass on unwanted kittens to the shelter to assure that they get the care they need! It's okay to be unable to take care of your kitten anymore, but the responsible thing is to make sure it gets to the shelter safely so someone else can enjoy it as much as you did! Offering a kitten up for adoption is really simple, but please be sure to read the guidelines and rules to make sure that it goes smoothly!
GUIDELINES are here so you don't end up sending your kitten to the wrong place! That would be horrifying! Please read them to assure that this doesn't happen.
- β’ All owners putting their kittens up for re-adoption MUST fill out a form and post it here or DM it to me!
β’ You may put up as many kittens for re-adoption as you would like, but you must provide your kittens' links/code. I do not have the time to look through the archive for your kittens.
β’ Please wait for us to get back to you! We will let you know when your kitten has officially been taken into the shelter.
β’ You have the period between the moment you post your form and the moment it's put up for adoption to cancel your re-adoption request and own the kitten once more. Once it is put up for adoption in the shelter, you are no longer guaranteed re-ownership. (that's why it's recommended to be extra sure that you want give up your kitten before you fill out the form!)
β’ If you find that you want your kitten back after it goes up for re-adoption, you can fill out a form to re-adopt it, but remember that it's fcfs! If another user gets to it before you can, we can't do anything!
NOTICE wrote:if you give up your kitten, the only way you can get it back is through re-adoption. if your kitten gets re-adopted by another user before you can do so yourself, we are not responsible and will not help you to get it back. you may politely negotiate with the user for re-ownership, but they have the right to let us know if you are harassing them. if you are found to be disturbing staff or other members of smitten kittens, you will receive a strike or even risk being banned in regard to the severity of your offense.
- HOW TO DONATE: it is mandatory to fill out a donation form when you put a kitten back up for re-adoption. the clovers you have spent on the kitten (including costumes, items, etc..) will not be refunded, so please be sure that you want to donate it before you fill out the form!

- And that should be about it! Please follow the rules and guidelines, there are quite a few but we just want to make sure our kittens will be loved wherever they go. I sincerely hope everyone will get a beautiful kitten to take home at some point! Please stay safe, and even though we're in tough times, NEVER GIVE UP.
