Arms laden with leaves, you carefully make your way back to Carter's cabin. He spots you as you arrive, pausing his inspection of what seems to one piece of driftwood out of a tall mountain of already-inspected pieces beside him.

"You're back! How'd it go? Hopefully you didn't get into trouble in the jungle, eh?"

You say that you had a fun time, saw a lot of cool birds, and that you found a lot of leaves. Carter beams, ruffling your hair as he takes the armful of leaves from you and sets it down beside the massive pile of wood.

"Oh wow, you really found a lot! Thank you!"

When you pass by Carter’s cabin by the woods today, you can’t help but notice he looks rather amused, grinning to himself as he sandpapers a couple of tabletops. Curiosity getting the better of you, you head on over to see what’s up with him. When he sees you approaching, he gives you his usual greeting.

"Oh, good morning!"

You respond in kind and the two of you make idle chatter for a while. Throughout the conversation, you try to hint at whatever secret that's got Carter so smug. He expertly avoids the topic every time. This continues for a while before you straight-up tell him spill the beans. Carter blanches.

"W-well, Caro and I were talking the other day an' he told me about his crush on Monty... He wants t'ask him out, but isn’t quite sure how... I’m not quite sure how either to be honest...”

Carter pauses, looking a little sheepish.

"He was acting pretty secretive about it when he told me so maybe I shoulda kept my mouth shut but...
If you give him some good advice, hopefully he’ll be okay with it?”

You agree to help him out, for Carter's sake if nothing else.
