Memory - A Poem

I remember the day my eyes meet yours,
the day I decided I would be yours.
I remember the first time I saw you laugh,
I wanted then to always hear that laugh.

I remember wanting you to hunt the first time,
how proud you were when you caught it,
how mad I was that you’d beaten me,
but I never wanted that moment to end.

I remember our first time out together,
how your eyes gleamed in the moonlight,
how our pelts brushed along one another,
and you said you never wanted it to end.

I remember our mating ceremony,
and the way the fireflies light up the camp,
The way we shared tongues,
as if there was no other in camp.

I remember it all,
and I never wanted to forget.
I want to keep remembering,
and keep making memories.

A Letter
Dear Kestrelstar,

I hope you know how big of a dork you are, that poem was so sweet, but I think your rhyming needs a little work. I think you forgot a couple of important events though. Like how we raced to the lake and I pushed you in, you where so mad and in the end I felt bad because you caught a cold and had to spend two days in the medicine cat den. I stayed by your side so much that I ended up catching the cold as well, but it was worth it. Anything is worth staying by your side. You forget how I messed with you when you became a warrior, not yet understand why you have to be silent after earning you name, doing everything I could to make you laugh or tell me to go away. But you didn’t give in and for something like that you never give in, it’s something I love. So don’t worry I remember everything and more. And I too want to keep making more memories.

Oh, Barkshine! Ever since I laid eyes on you I knew you were the one. For one thing, you were the only cat crazy enough to listen to my ramblings about founding a clan of my own! You joined me, and it was just the two of us and our unborn kits against the world. I feared that they wouldn’t survive that cold leaf-bare, or that we wouldn’t survive either because of how little prey there was; but you were always the voice of hope, radiating positivity. And look where our crazy dream has taken us! We have four, beautiful kits, soon to be apprenticed. The clan that we started between us has grown and is flourishing. And it all started with a certain enormously fluffy she-cat tumbling into my life.
I love you more than words can express, my dear Barkshine!

Birchstar, you always were a peculiar cat. Right from the start you seemed... different, unlike any cat I’d ever met before. I’m still yet to find another soul quite like yours. But I like it that way. You’re a unique cat, Birchstar. But, more importantly, you’re my unique Birchstar. My pillow to rest my head on at night. My constant companion, with me always, through thick and thin. I remember the day we met like it was yesterday. You were bumbling through the forest like a kit just out of the nursery! Come to think of it, you still need to work on both your camouflage and stealth skills. I’ll tell Woodsmoke to take you out for a session with Moonpaw tomorrow. Woodsmoke being Woodsmoke, whether she’ll actually let you come or not is debatable, but never mind.
The point is, I love you so much, Birchstar! You and our four little monsters are my everything. No raging river or hostile rogue could keep me from you. I’d fight the world if it meant getting you back.

Hey snake, I know I haven’t spoken to you in awhile but I just wanted to express mythanks to you. You look after me, your understanding of my fears and insecurities has helped me grow, and I can never thank you enough. I have yet to come out of my shell but I have become more open to outsiders thanks to you. I still don’t like water, and I freeze up when I touch it, but I have accepted that it won’t hurt me.
What I’m trying to say is that you’re help has helped me. That I am eternally grateful for your assistance.

Heya cinnamon! Long time no talk :) I hope all is well with your clan and I wanted to thank you for originally taking me to your burial forests! It was an amazing experience and opened my eyes to how to treat our spirits differently in ThistleClan! We now mark our graves with things that represent the passed cat! I hope you don’t mind ^.^
