Challenge entry: I'd want very subtle growths if I had to have any, perhaps some peppered under the eyes, on the knuckles, nails and other smaller places-- kind of like freckles that sparkle in the sunlight. They'd have to be sort of quaint so I could function in society still, but if you got close enough you'd probably notice they were gemstones! I'd also want them to be white or prismatic so when they catch the light, they change colors and shimmer!

Challenge entry: I would probably be really freaked out, I don't really trust strangers. ; w ; I'd probably fully expect some sort of horror movie situation to unfurl or something, but I'd keep the rock unless weird stuff started to happen. Maybe it'd be cute?? Or a story to tell people at least? It can probably chill in the garden, then if it is haunted it can spook off intruders or something. xD

Challenge entry: This probably sounds really bad, but I'd probably assume they were either drunk or a part of some cult-like group. If they were drunk, I'd treat it as a funny gift and probably keep it as a joke to myself (something similar to that happened to a friend once on a field trip. We weren't in Italy, and some drunk guy comes barrelling down the street on a bike, chucks a bunch of roses at my friend and blew him a kiss while yelling "Merry Christmas!" in the middle of October. He kept the roses for a couple days, and it was a pretty great reminder of a really weird moment, and so I can be reasonably sure I'd act the same way).
If I didn't think they were drunk, I'd probably want to make the stone as obviously unassociated with them as I could. Two options; remove the face (sad) or edit the face in bright colours to make it into something fun to then decorate with. Or the really lazy route*; just put it down somewhere unobtrusive with some other rocks, where people can see the smile if they're paying attention, but where no one will think it's weird.

I don't think any of us who've responded to this trust strangers too much.

Paint one of my own and give it to someone. There is a thing going on now where people paint rocks and leave them around. We've found three so far. They usually have a facebook address on the bottom, not always.
