Promt Answer: Hawk was strolling happily down the street when a flash of color in his peripheral vision caught his eye. He immediately whipped his head around and went shock-still.

"Is . . is that a c-clown?" he whispered aloud, staring at the figure a few yards in front of him. Hawk's fur stood on end and he didn't hesitate to bolt across the street. Luckily for him, few cars were on the road this time of night because he ran without looking at either side of the street, too scared of seeing the clown.

When he reached the other sidewalk, Hawk kept running down the street with his head down and barreled into Kat, nearly causing the two to tumble over one another, but Kat gracefully took the momentum and spun him around, laughing all the while.

"What got you so spooked?" she asked with a grin. "Saw a spoopy skeleton?"

"A clown," Hawk corrected with a grumble and shivered slightly. "They're really scary!"

Prompt Answer: Kaiden jumped when he heard the moans of what sounded like zombies coming closer... And closer... And then a dummy, arms out, popped out of the darkness. "Yeek!" he squealed.

Svetlana laughed. "Oh, come on," she said. "Totally not scary. You know there's no such thing as zombies!" Avis smirked, saying nothing.

Kaiden glared. "I wouldn't know about that," he said darkly.

Svetlana stiffened. "I'm not a zombie," she said quietly.

Kaiden looked away, chagrined. He should have known better than to prod her. Svetlana hated mentioning her status as a reaper and...she was right. While she might not be alive, in a technical sense, she was definitely not the classic zombie.

"Hey," said Svetlana, nudging his shoulder gently. "Are you going to chicken out of this?"

"Me?" asked Kaiden, sniffing haughtily while letting out a mental sigh of relief. So she had forgiven him. "Never!"

"Well, to me," said Avis, "looks like you two are having a wonderful time talking instead of exploring. C'mon!" And with that, the Jelly Beast walked into the darkness confidently. The two Simas looked at each other, shrugged, and followed.
