Kalons Used:
CosonaStory:
Cosona tilted her head at the odd Kalon before her. “Hmm...alright.” She said with a smile. “I'll take you up on that.”
The two headed to the back of the shop where the sparring ring was located. Cosona looked over the various weaponry that was stored, and took out a small accessory item that was sitting behind the larger, more dangerous looking items.
Cosona turned to the Kalon, holding the accessory up to him. “What is this?” She questioned. The Kalon laughed, and walked up to Cosona. He took the item, and it began to glow in his paws.
“This is a magical item. It can be used to amplify your speed significantly. How about this – I'll let you borrow the item for your journey if you can beat me in this match.” He said, grinning oddly. Cosona smiled.
“Sounds good.” She said, confidence filling her voice. The two stood on opposite ends of the sparring ring. Cosona wore the accessory around her neck, and the other Kalon stood without any equipment. Cosona tilted her head. “Aren't you going to equip yourself with something as well?”
“No need.” The Kalon said with a snark tone. Cosona's eyes squinted at him, seemingly irritated. She sighed.
“Don't underestimate me.” She said with a smile, preparing to dash forward at the start of the match. Though, she felt a strange feeling at the pit of her stomach. Something seemed off about this Kalon, as though he was hiding something. His eyes peered into hers, and he grinned again. “Ready?” Cosona said, her legs shivering slightly.
The Kalon nodded, and got into a defensive position. Cosona raced forward directly towards the opposing Kalon, and he stepped very slightly out of the way. Cosona couldn't stop in time, and ended up falling out of the ring. She looked up at the Kalon, who seemed amused.
“That's not fair!” She yelped, standing back up.
“It's harder to control that item than you'd think. It's not something you can master right away.” The Kalon said. “Want to try your luck again?”
Cosona raced back into the ring, and stood prepared to dash once more. The opposing Kalon prepared himself as well. “Determined, hmm?” He said. Cosona's expression dulled. She took a deep breath, and dashed forward. The Kalon moved out of the way once again as Cosona dashed forward, but this time she moved with a zig-zag pattern to her steps. She tackled the Kalon and pushed him out of the ring. He got up, and looked at Cosona with a surprised expression.
“Clever.” He said bluntly. “You win this round, I guess.” He continued. “...but you won't win the next.”
Cosona smiled cheerfully. “Oh yeah?” She said tauntingly. She was honestly having a good time.
The two continued practicing late into the day, but eventually Cosona felt exhausted. “Quitting so soon?” The Kalon asked, and Cosona shook her head.
“I can keep going.” She said. The Kalon shook his head.
“That's enough for today. I think you've shown enough spirit in this.” He replied. A grin reappeared on his face. “You shouldn't overwork yourself. You won't make any real progress that way. Besides, I think you've grasped that trinket fairly well, which is quite surprising.” He continued. He turned his back to her. “You can keep the trinket for now, but I expect you to return it once you've completed your quest.”
Cosona nodded, and sat. She yawned, feeling tired from her long day. “I'll return.” She said, and began to walk out of the shop. “...and thank you. I had fun.” She continued. She then returned to the inn where she was staying during her time in the area. She fell asleep quickly in her tired state, and slept soundly through the night. When she would awaken, she'd be fully rested for the challenges of the following day.
