Quest response;;
Stepping into the dimly lit tavern was like stepping into a different dimension- the dark and dreary mood of the village stopped at the threshold of the building, inside there were many cheers and toasts, kalons talking animatedly as they ordered and spoke. Tiny lanterns hung and floated midair, a magical sight
The mood was instantly uplifting, and with some renewed energy she strode in.
Immediately she saw a flustered kalon, and realizing with knitted brows that she had often been in that situation, she stepped over to greet him.
--
After he spoke to her, Fir's eyes raked the inn for possible solutions.
Luckily, the kalon (who had introduced himself as Briceus) realized her plight of not being able to speak. He gave a hefty sigh and turned to look out of the corner of his eye at the stranger, trying to act casual but acting strangely jerky. Her attention drifted back to soft murmur of voices, no single detail leaping out at her as how she could help him.
Until.
She caught the innkeeper's hands flying and folding something. They whispered over paper and as he finished, setting it down on the table, she saw it was origami.
Tapping the table excitedly to gain his attention, she mimicked the folding gesture. He picked it up and nodded to her.
"Oh-oh yes! I fold different things, its a bit of a stress relieve-" His eyes widened as Fir took his paw and guided him to his feet. He stumbled and tripped- right into the kalon he had been eyeing.
The two tumbled to the floor in a tangled mess of, "Ohh my bad!" and "so sorry!" as they tried to separate their limbs. Poor Briceus hadn't seen that the kalon he had tripped into was the very stranger he wanted to, so talking came naturally.
He stood and briskly dusted himself off, offering a hand to the kalon, who took it after picking up the dropped piece of folded paper.
"This is gorgeous- do you think, maybe you could teach me?" The kalon pushed back her hood as she spoke, still laughing from the accident. Briceus, who had been stunned into silence, stood flustered once more. "I can pay for lesson if you would want-"
"No, no. It'll be my treat."
Fir left the two as they took a seat at a nearby table, talking vividly to eachother and taking turns blushing.
