Reuben is an avid reader. He spends all his free time reading. Poplar is a stone mason. It is not just their job but also their favorite pastime, so when it's nice outside, they use the good weather to make more statues. A lack of good weather means that Poplar doesn't get any statues made for that day and won't make their quota. No statues made means that they don't get business and they don't get paid. It's a rough industry for them to have, but it's something they enjoy doing. It makes others smile and gives them a unique thing to put in their yard or indoors.

Saffron's favorite pastime is collecting geodes. Their vibrant colors and intricate details have always fascinated her. She has a large collection of them sitting on a shelf in her room. When the sun hits the rocks just right, it illuminates her room with dazzling magenta and turquoise hues. Whenever she goes to a museum, she always has to get one from the gift shop. Saffron usually spends her time organizing them by color or just moving them around. Her friends and family think that she's a little bit weird because of her obsession with the rocks, but they love her to bits anyways <3
