Dragon
The dragon was colossal, standing far taller than any skyscraper I'd ever seen. Scales as green as any single shamrock glittered in the afternoon sunlight as eyes a rich intergalactic bath bomb water blue gazed at me.

"Greetings" her voice was deep with a slight undertone and she reminded me a of a dragon from a video game who had been lost to corruption in the game's latest expansion. The green dragon simply sat in full view right in the middle of he field, blending slightly with the grass under her claw tipped feet.

"Hello" my voice came out slightly breathy and a twinkle of amusement gleamed in those deep blue eyes. I swallowed hard and piped up with a question. "So um, is there a reason why you're just sat in the park?"

"I found it to be a nice place to simply sit for a while" the dragon replied stretching her wings out for a moment before folding them back against her side. "Did I possibly interrupt something important?" She asked, head tilting to one side. I shook my head, hair bouncing slightly as I did.

"No, I was simply walking my dog" my reply was quiet as to be honest I was completely awed at the fact I was speaking with a honest to someone, flesh and blood not a crazy dream dragon.

"Most excellent, if it pleases you, I would ask that you stay a while and keep me company" I smiled at her reply and moved to sit by one of her feet. We spent the majority of the time chatting or watching the world go by, I'll admit I got a kick out seeing one guy walk right into a tree because he was so busy staring at the dragon.

Fireworks: Do they inspire you or do you not like the noise and commotion? Write about it

[ Part three of what I started with the dragon prompt! ]

Colors flash, spiraling down to earth in a cascade of sound, shaking the very core of the sky. Stars themselves fall, rocked from their home by the shock, splitting off across the galaxy before reforming somewhere underneath the earth, out of her sight. She was racing through them, her heart pounding, feet barely glancing the ground beneath her as each explosion seemed to graft wings on her back and send her hurtling forward.

She missed the lack of sight, at least it had been peaceful. But each bright bomb set off another alarm in her head, reminding her off all the things that were waiting tomorrow. The fireworks that would erupt from the mouths of those she had to call 'family' on some prewritten contract, signed before her birth. The sparks that flared in their eyes and made her cower beneath the table, trying to cover herself from the noise.

Would she herself be inspired by them? Not likely. There was no flare to light in her small frame. No spark of her own to set sail and tear down the heavens, blasting through the milky way. No brilliant show of color to blaze across the sky so that everyone below had to acknowledge the existence. At most, she would sparkle for a moment, against the ground, and then snuffled under the foot of someone with a lot more power than she had.

As the noise continued, and the colors blinded her path, she gripped tighter to her dear friend, wishing desperately that his fire could craft a difference in her life outside of her dreams.

But in the end, she'd just be alone again.

[ Fireworks actually used to TERRIFY me as a kid, they were loud and reminded me of how much my mom shouted at me all the time and the bright colors would make me feel woozy after awhile if I looked at them too long. I like them now just fine! But MAN was I a really skittish kid-- ]

I used to love fireworks, and I still do at certain times, but nowadays they're more on an annoyance to me than anything. Because apparently now every occasion there has to be fireworks, football team wins, non relevant holidays, etc. That's not to say I don't like them, I love fireworks on the fourth of July and New Years but I just think there needs to be a legitimate reason to fire them not just because.

But personally when they're used right, I love the dazzling lights in the sky and I love the noise and the smell afterwards. The colors are amazing to see in the sky and the shapes they're able to do is cool as well.

fireworks are fun for me when i'm lighting them with family, friends and relatives–of course. i enjoy the excitement that comes out of it, and sparklers are always fun to play with. they make great candid photos for instagram as well xD though, when they're going off in the middle of the night, i don't like them as much. the big ones that are shot up in the sky aren't very enjoyable for me, as i prefer the smaller ones xDD they're just no fun, since you just stand outside and watch them, while covering your ears because they are just so loud.

writing prompt - day 5

My eyes were wide open, but I couldn't see. It was like I was stuck in a dream; blinding whiteness stretched out on all sides. Everywhere I turned, it was just white, white and more white. I'd been told not to go into the forest, told about the fog that left victims lost and disoriented, doomed to wander until they found a way out of these accursed woods, or died.

And now I'd become one of the victims. I deserved it, I guess. All the facts were there, laid out in front of me, but it was like a movie; scary, but not going to happen to me. I thought I was invincible. We all did.

It was a dare. They'd pay me a hundred bucks if I survived the woods for an hour. I'd thought it was a stupid deal on their part; I'd be in and out, easy as pie. They'd laughed as I accepted the challenge. Laughed and smiled like they knew something I didn't. Which they did, of course. I knew their reputation; I knew better than to trust them. But here I was, stuck in the middle of a huge, fog-bound forest.

Oh, they'd got me good.

I decided my best option was to stay put. I wouldn't find a way out, but I also wouldn't fall off one of those 'surprise' cliffs. And this fog couldn't last forever.

Right?
