Gravesnaps are an odd breed on canines around the size and physique of your average greyhound. They are technically not living, but act as though they are. Since they need few internal organs, the majority of their insides consist of a thick goop-like substance. It is unsure the reason why, but a portion of the canine's sides are completely transparent, leaving a window to see their ribs and often whatever they have swallowed. Gravesnaps have no intestines, but rather their goop eventually disintegrates everything that has entered the body. A Gravesnap's tail is only bones and floats in 9 segments from the end of the backbone. It is very rare for these bones to become separated or missing, but it is possible.

It's in their instinct to linger around cemeteries and check on graves to make sure they are not tampered with and keep them safe from fools who want to vandalize or sit on the gravestones. You will often find packs of Gravesnaps hanging around larger cemeteries, but most live alone or with a few select others. However, this does not mean that they can't live elsewhere. Those that live in colder climates generally have thicker fur.
