Has anyone who hangs out here voted in the recent poll on the main shop page? If so, would you mind elaborating on the reason for your vote? I'm still undecided on what to do and would love to hear what other people's thoughts are.

I voted to put them on the character thread. You don't want to clutter up the main thread with more character information, and it's not really relevant to the roleplay thread (again, it would clutter the place up)
And anyone wanting to join is going to have to go through the character thread anyway, so they might as well learn about the shopkeepers while they're there.

That's just my 2 cents

p.s. nothing wrong with taking a slow moment, it's not like we'll ever leave *plans to stalk this adopt forever mwahahaha   *

That was pretty much exactly my own thoughts on it, but the poll says the exact opposite. I do currently have small bios for them on the main RP thread, but those can certainly be moved if needed.

Sorry I haven't offered any input on the roleplay issue, I have never roleplayed before so don't have any kind of insight or helpful ideas and not sure how those threads work and stuff!

But I am looking forward to seeing what you put together and learning about roleplaying a bit.

I've got quite a number of years of roleplaying under my belt, but I'm not very familiar with the specific culture of it on this site. I've mostly used various instant messengers and I pretty much only do 1x1, unless you count a few tabletop groups. So setting this one up will be a learning experience for all of us!

Also, I popped up a poll over here. I'm trying to name Mr. Tea Shop Guy since I've realized I can't keep calling him that and as far as I can tell there is no special word for someone who runs a teashop. So I've narrowed it down to a few, but I'd like to hear what you guys think of them. Since at the end of the day he is my character, I'm not promising to pick whichever one wins.

I believe all of the names are Chinese in origin, so that should be a indicator of how to pronounce them. They also all relate to pottery, such as tea cups and pots.

Hello again everyone. Like I mentioned in the main shop, I am thinking of maybe moving Mythicarium off of CS, but I don't yet know where would be best to take it. I'm considering making it its own little forum, but I want to know what the fans think before doing anything. So, what are your thoughts about a potential move?

I wouldn't mind following, depending on where it went. I am not an avid onliner, the only places I visit are cs and pocket puma pets. I wouldn't want to have to spend real money as I don't like purchasing online. I also don't really have any suggestions for other places, but my friend might, I can ask her later and let ya know what I find out.

I don't really go anywhere online except for CS and Marvel Heroes Online so I don't know if I would follow?
I guess it would all depend on where you went, how hard it was to adopt, how often it was update?
I like it here, it's easy to track, and it's somewhere I spend a fairly large portion of my afternoon?

But it is entirely your decision as the owner, if moving is easier for you, then you should do it...but forum based adopts tend to die off pretty quickly because no-one remembers to check them?

I've noticed a bit of a trend with adopts leaving CS lately, curious to know why? :what:

I don't know about other adopts, but I want to leave CS because it has been unhealthy for me for some time now but I couldn't break away from it. Trying to collect pets and items was causing stress and taking away time from other real life activities. I'm concerned that if I keep coming back on here even just for this shop, the temptation will get the better of me and I'll be right back in that cycle again.

Right now places I am looking at are starting a dedicated Mythicarium forum, going onto DeviantArt, or possibly Magistream if a pet adoption site is really the best option.

As for the possibility of paid adopts, that would only be for really special, premium stuff, like maybe small animations or getting to pick a mutation when breeding. And even then it would only be a couple of bucks each. The rest would either be totally free with limited slots or earned through roleplay. Or if the site has a virtual currency that doesn't cost real money, I'll use that.

As for frequency of updates, my hope is that they would be about the same as this place was at its peak as far as adopts go and daily-ish roleplay updates.

I'd more than likely follow, since I do love these adopts...your designs are so pretty <3
So long as I get regular updates about when pets are available to adopt, I'd be happy (one of the reasons I don't likeDA is that you don't get email updates like you do here)

I can certainly understand the unhealthiness and stress, I've trimmed my adopting back to just the few I really love these days *hug*

DeviantArt is basically my last resort if nothing else will work. Right now I am really favoring Magistream since it does have pet adopting, but less temptation to hoard everything. Also I have fond memories of it and had been vaguely considering going back anyway.

Anyone curious can check it out here: http://magistream.com/ (Warning: it may not promote hoarding, but it can still be addictive.)
